Magicopolis

Hello Yelpers, I wanted to write this review of a spectacular birthday party for kids. Magicopolis This place is the best. If you want the ease and fun of a great party with none of the hassle this is the place. I am usually the one running around making the party great setting it up tearing it down and keeping g control of the kids. Well let me tell you I did not have to do any of this with my daughters birthday at Magicopolis. We started with really cool magic performed by one of their in house magicians in the magic store while everyone was arriving. Then we went into are private birthday room where everything was decorated and music and food and drinks were all set up nice. Then we went into the giant theater to have a magic class, and the all the kids were laughing and having a good time, and the parents were involved as well. Then we went back into the room for cake and sang happy Birthday, the lights and candles were all done , they really know how to make the kids feel special. All this and the show was about to start. We all had some yummy popcorn and watched the magic show. Steve and his wife Bozena really put on a great magic show full of surprises and illusions. My daughter was on stage for one of the tricks and they gave her something she will cherish for the rest of her life. You will have to go see to find out what it is. At the end of the party the gave everyone party favors with some of the tricks taught in the magic class. My daughter and her friends had such a great time, and I sat back with parents enjoying myself with glass of white wine. It was special party filled with magic, laughs and fun memories. We decided to have my sons Birthday part here for his 7th birthday. He invited about 34 friends, and their parents came as well. We heard through a mutual friend that this is the place to have a party. We looked on their website, magicopolis in google to get more info. Well all I can say is Magictastic! Everyone has a great time. My wife and I showed up and everything was taken care. From the gifts to the food to the drinks. We just got to sit back and have a nice time. Thats what a part is all about not having to worry about a thing. Music balloons and magic in the air. The magicians made my kid feel like a star on his birthday and this all before the show began. The food we ordered was great, wine, cheese, fruit, sandwiches and pizza, all made to order. The show really is for all ages as the parents and kids all were laughing and having a great time watching all the illusions. My kid was featured in one of the tricks in the show and he was hit! The magician on stage really is good with the kids, form the magic class included to the on stage. I highly recommend this birthday party and or just to see the show. I am from Idaho. When traveling this summer in Los Angles area I was with my family looking for things to do. We heard about Magicopolis. We called and reserved tickets to this magic show. We had no idea what to expect. We just wanted to do something different. I was with my Dad, Mom, and sister. The show started at 8:00 PM we arrived around 7:30 and went to the bar for some wine. The place is so cool, with huge posters of magicians from different times throughout history. It instantly gives you a magic vibe being inside the place. After we had some wine a magician was playing with bubbles behind the bar, and another magician was doing amazing card tricks for my family, one card even ended up on the celling. The show didn't even start yet and we were happy to have come. When we walked into the big theatre it felt so magical, medium in size and packed with people. The show is so cool, it really brings back the feeling of wonder. Steve Spill and his wife Bozena really put on a show not to missed. We cracked up laughing so hard at some parts. Its a two hour show with a break in the middle and full magic that speaks to the heart of all people, it felt like the whole room was one after the show, it definitely brought me and family closer as now we had stories to recall and talk about for the rest our lives. I tell all my friend and family to check this place out when your in Santa Monica. Really its worth it! I love the the catch fraise ""the more you drink the better the tricks"".... more

I went to Magicopolis with my friends. I love this place. I walked in and went right to the bar and ordered some drinks and was waiting for the magic show. During the time we saw some really cool magic from the magical bartenders. I cant believe the show!!!!!!!! it was so amazing, a lady floating around the room. The magician Steve borrowed a my ring and link it to another persons in the show. I really did escape reality for about 2-3 hours. I have been telling my friends and family about this place. I will be back for sure. I even bought a trick for myself that I have been showing people, at heir magic store. My 8 year old turned 9 a few weeks ago....we had his birthday party at the magicopolis. It was absolutely the best !! All worries and stress was removed, they did a fabulous magic cake, bags of magic tricks for everyone, a magic class, party favors, decorations and my kid has memories of a lifetime being on stage with the magician, actually doing magic!! more

Great show, wonderful theater! Best theater experience in the area! hands down! By far the largest in the area. The one trick I just couldt get... how he linked the borrowed rings. 3 different people in the audience, 3 different rings. Absolutely amazing! more

My trip to Magicopolis was really great. The place is kind of small and has an older feel so I was a little bit worried going in, but then the show was so much fun. The performers were very talented and I have no clue how they did their tricks! We had a great time. more

Very clever, wonderfully intriguing. The one thing that stands out in my mind, was the mind reading, it made me really wonder what it might be like to actually read someone?s mind. more

I saw the Escape Reality Show at the Magicopolis theater and thought it was great. The magic was live and vibrant. The show is in the heart of Santa Monica only a few blocks away from the beach. A rare opportunity to watch live theater magic. more

I got a chance to hang out at the magicopolis bar last Friday and had one of the best nights of my life. Johnny behind the bar is a great host and fun magician. I felt like I was at a bar that I always dreamed of but never thought existed. If you haven?t had a chance to check it out?I highly recommend it. more

Magicopolis? Escape Reality is by far the most entertaining and engaging magic show I have ever attended. Throughout the show the amazing surprises and mind blowing feats keep even the most trained eye guessing, and the show never slows down! The performers? stage presence was absolutely fantastic! Walking out the theater I realized I had laughed just as many times as my jaw was left hanging open in dumbfounded shock. Even more amazing is the fact they I can bring my young niece along and not feel guilty. Magicopolis has created a family friendly show that still amazes. I will be going back. We sat at the bar area before the show and was entertained by another talented magician. All the employees were friendly and helpful. Magicopolis is a nice theater with very good seating for everyone. The show was very good with comedy blended into the acts. There was plenty of audience participation which made the atmosphere light and festive. We had a very fun and relaxing evening. more

OK, let me state this right off the bat. The show is amazing, and super charming. Steve the magician not only looks like a classic master of the dark arts but, has a rapier sharp Rickles like wit that is genuinely hilarious. His assistant/co-magician Elenoras routines are truly magical in a more sentimental and transportive way. This IS theatre in a way rarely found these days. I was out doing some last minute Christmas shopping when I saw Magicopolis. I have been here before but decided to see what they had for tricks. I didn't play on buying a magic trick, but, when it costs $10 dollars, I thought why not. It turns out the trick was really easy to do and I was able to do it that night for my grandson. I searched all over the place to buy a magic trick for my son and the only thing that comes up in google is Hollywood Magic and they are closed. What happened to all the good ole magic stores where one could come in and see a real person performing magic, then buy the trick that you just saw performed? It is weird that Magicopolis does not come when I search magic tricks in Los Angeles. Thankfully it came up under magic shows and the website was very informative. Magicopolis is such a neat place to take friends and family. The show is all ages and reminds me of a show you would see in Vegas. Also there is a bar magic show every Saturday night at 10 that I go to probably at least three times a month! more

?Escape Reality? the title of the two hour show at Magicopolis says it all. From the minute I walked into the door I was instantly entertained. Even before we were seated for the show we found ourselves participating in magic tricks at the bar with the bartender and there were two more magicians performing in the lobby! It?s such a cool atmosphere right when you walk into this place. You instantly feel welcomed like you were invited to a really cool private magic party with friends. After seeing some magic close up you are seated for the show and it?s incredible. It?s a huge show with music and comedy and audience participation. We got to witness a lady float right before our eyes, have her body completely smooshed, saw a man escape a burning rope and deadly spikes, read audience members minds, and that is only the half of it! I haven?t come across another form of entertainment in LA even comparable to what this place has to offer. It is truly a one of a kind experience! Whenever I have visitors from out of town I always take them to Magicopolis and it continues to be just as entertaining as ever! more

I went to Magicopolis with my entire family including my little 5 year old sister. I thought it would be like all the other little kid things we have to do as a family with her but everyone loved it! The show was so cool the magician Steve Spill was really funny and he actually made a woman float, read our minds, and made money come out of my brother's ears.
