I took a day off from work to have my chimney cleaned and inspected by Mad Hatter. When the appointment window came and went (by 2 hours) without any contact from the company, I called their scheduling line to verify I had the correct date and time. I did. The lady at the main office was very nice but informed me that the employee scheduled to work on my house had taken the day off sick and I would have to reschedule. I am a very disappointed at the lack of follow through and I don’t plan to reschedule with this company a second time. more

Cleaning and Repair 6/11/2010

Good: This company is punctual and polite.. Bad: The fact they knew more about my fireplace than I did before stepping foot in my house!. Improvements: Maybe the service could be free next time?. Other: We originally hired Mad Hatter simply for a chimney cleaning. They showed up early with a call ahead. The cleaning was a much different process than I had expected. They wrote us an estimate for some small repairs on the exterior of the chimney. We got other estimates from other companies. Most of the other contractors tried to upsell us on repairs we didn't even need. It was great that they were able to provide us an accurate bid on the work we NEEDED.. more

Seattle's Mad Hatter Chimney Sweep & fireplace cleaning repair 2/10/2009

My wife and I moved from West Seattle to a new home in Queen Anne. Being that this is a 1960's home we wanted to know if the fireplace was working! So we called The Mad Hatter out for a chimney inspection. They noticed that the chimney did not have a chimney cap and my entire firebox needed rebuilt, and a new damper installed. Damage due to not having a chimney cap. They sealed the crown and and fixed the flashing. he also told me to try and keep the moss off of the top to avoid tuck-pointing. This company is honest, hard working, doesn't mislead os scam you, doesn't talk down to you, and appreciates your time. I recommend The Mad Hatter for all your fireplace cleaning chimney Needs. more
