Editorial review from Citysearch 9/24/2013

Be forewarned! \r A true Yogi is one who seeks truth in all relationships and in all life. This woman uses and lives lies. Sure she can wriggle around on the floor in yoga poses but in her personal life she will make up endless, very damaging lies about other people whom she so targets for her victims. She will become jealous of the close relationship of two best friends and then take one aside saying, “don't tell him or her that I told you this but they said this about you...”. When she is scorned watch out, as she will make it her life's quest to destroy your reputation. God forbid, if you are lured into a sexual relationship with her, and you have a girl friend or wife, you are going down. The most important thing in a teacher/student relationship in yoga is the spiritual connection, which here does not exist. A total fraud! As others have said before me, “look elsewhere for a good yoga teacher and a good person”. Ultimately we must, ""hate the sin, and not the sinner. For the grace of God go I"". But we can't allow them to continue their acts of violence and hypocracy upon others. This must stop. I am a thousand miles away from her now, and happy to help with my truth. more

I've been taking yoga lessons from Lorey for about 2 1/2 years now. I was very hesitant at first since I was concerned about the ""sissy"" aspect of being a male in what is in America a female dominated activitiy. My wife (who had already been in the classes for about a year) challenged me to join her, and promised I wouldn't have to wear a leotard. more

Such a devoted, kind, honest professional 3/23/2008

Lorey is simply amazing. I have had the privilege of practicing with her steadily for the last two and a half years, and I have learned more from and through her than perhaps anyone outside of my immediate family. She has helped me become more aware about not only yoga, but myself: including my body, my breathing, previous injuries, my mind and emotions and how our physical bodies are affected by our emotional states, and my bad habits. Lorey has always been an open and loving individual towards me, and is a fiercely loyal and sincerely kind teacher. Pros: Knowledgeable, accommodating, tailor-made classes, encouraging, professional, student discounts Cons: N/A more

Look Elsewhere for a Yoga Teacher 5/4/2007

Although I am reluctant to leave a negative review, I agree completely with the review titled ?Hypocritical Yoga? and strongly advise against taking this teacher?s classes, especially if you are new to yoga. It would be most unfortunate for a newcomer to have their introduction to yoga through this mean-spirited teacher. Although the teacher knows yoga poses, she has a lot to learn about how to teach and interact with students in a pleasant, professional and respectful manner. Her treatment of some students is shockingly bad ? sometimes even hateful. I know of at least three former students who now refuse to attend her classes because of her attitude. There are many good and well-balanced yoga teachers in the Nashville area who create an accepting and pleasant environment in which to learn and practice yoga. Unfortunately, this is not one of them. Look around Citysearch and find a good teacher! more

Hypocritical yoga 4/27/2007

Don't waste your money. This instructor is rude and mean and does not hide the fact that she picks favorites in her classes. Most of which are not the young ones. She snaps at people if they dare ask a question, is selective about who she aids in getting postions correct, and will humiliate people who are trying but not getting it right. After that she wants to give you a hug and tell you to send love out to the world. What a joke, who wants to hear her advice on love after she has been, rude, insulting, and humiliating? I felt awful hearing her treat others so badly in front of everyone. She stressed us out much more than yoga could relieve. Don't waste your money, especially if you're young AND female (she won't like you and you'll KNOW it). Pros: nice classmates Cons: doesn't like some people and is rude to them more
