Paul M. McLaughlin Elizabeth SEVEN McLaughlin Stop Child Abuse NOW! 298 Hunington Ave Eugene, Oregon 97405-4055 PAUL McLAUGHLIN IS THE ONLY CHILD IN THE McLAUGHLIN FAMILY WHO HAS BEEN ADVOCATING ON THE ISSUE OF CHILD ABUSE SINCE THE YEAR OF 1975. PLEASE HELP TELL OF THIS TRUE SHORT STORY. PH: 541-34 http://www.efn.org/~scan scan@efn.org OCTOBER 13, 1975 "OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE, BUT THEIR WELL-BEING IN OUR SOCIETY CONTINUES TO DECLINE. THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR CHILDREN IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY. PLEASE HELP ENSURE HEALTHY, SAFE CHILDREN AND FAMILIES IN OUR COMMUNITY BY TAKNG ACTION AS AN INDIVIDUAL, GROUP OR BUSINESS." (c) 1985 - Paul McLaughlin PAUL AND HIS WIFE, ELIZABETH. FUND RAISING FOR ABUSED CHILDREN AND TIME CAPSULE FOR THE YEAR 2047. http://www.efn.org/~scan/paulpics.html WEB PAGE: http://www.efn.org/~scan TRUE SHORT CHRISTIAN STORY ABOUT PAUL FROM A MAGAZINE WITH MUSIC IN BACKGROUND: http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Hills/6100/story5.html In 1975, at the age of twenty-five, Paul Marvin McLaughlin began his One-Man Advocate, "Help Stop Child Abuse NOW," from Donora, Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) and Portland and Eugene, Oregon (Pacific Northwest). In 1970 Paul graduated from Donora High School at the age of 21 because he was classified as a slow-learner and placed in SPECIAL EDUCATION. He was was born on October 13, 1948 in Donora. Paul tells his story in his own words as he begins describing his SEVERE childhood abuse along with his twin sister, Paula. His older brother and sister were NOT abused. In 1948 and 1950, Paul almost came close to death from childhood abuse. Tears will fill your heart as Paul leads you down the path of such terrifying abuse as being placed upon a hot stove, being beaten with a belt or stick without wearing clothes, and having his head split open with a spike shoe. UNFORTUNATELY THE HORROR OF ABUSE CONTINUES. Paul almost lost his life TWICE. Paul has spoken of his story on 10 talk-radio programs, a television commercial in Oregon, in three magazine articles. He spoken at 20 open forums across the United States and that includes the Washington and Oregon, with those who specialize in child abuse and domistic family violence. He has volunteered and worked with other nonprofit organizations. He shows the people in many communities how to contact proper agencies for assitance for drug and alcohol abuse, homelessness, runaways or physical abuse. Many lives have changed as the direct result of Paul's advocacy and his love of children. STOP CHILD ABUSE NOW is a nonprofit organization dedicated to stopping child abuse of all forms, and improving the lives of survivors of all types of abuse and loss. THE MOTHER WAS NOT ABUSED WHEN SHE WAS A CHILD. THE MOTHER DID NOT FINISHED SCHOOL AND WAS CLASSIFIED AS A SLOW MENTAL CHILD AND WAS TAKEN OUT OF SCHOOL AT THE AGE OF TEN. THE FATHER IS A VERY BRITE AND WELL EDUCATED FATHER. THE FATHER HAVE 3 SONS AND TWO DAUGHTER. PAUL & PAULA ARE TWINS AND THEY WERE THE ONLY CHILDREN WHO WAS SEVERLY ABUSED LEAVING THEM WITH SCARS ON THEIR SCALP, FACE, AND BODY. THE OTHER CHILDREN WAS NOT ABUSED AT ALL. HAD LEARNED THAT PAUL AND PAULS FATHER IS NOT THEIR REAL FATHER. THE REAL FATHER IS THE BROTHER OF THE MAN WHO HELPED RAISED THE FAMILY IN THE McLAUGHLIN FAMILY. IN 1999, PAUL BECAME ILL WITH MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AND HAVE EPILEPSEY FOR 25 YEARS. PAUL IS NOW PARTIAL PARLIZED FROM THE WAIST DOWN TO THE FEET, VISION LOST IN RIGHT EYE, BACK SPINE TO THE BRAIN IS BAD AND MANY OTHER HEALTH PROBLEMS. more
