I take my 9 month and 4 year old both there . They always seem to have age appropriate activities, and the kids love the employees there. On tour of the facility I noted the areas were very clean especially the kitchen. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about anything except clothes change and diapers as supplies. Maybe it's different because they are under new management. I enjoy the friendliness much more than cold professionalism. more

I brought my 5 month old to the Little Footsteps Academy in Lakeland after I emailed them and found out they had a spot available in their infant room. When we walked in I could tell the girl showing us around was in a terrible mood. She acted like she didn't want to even be there. Maybe she was having a rough day or something. She took us into the infant room and I saw the two girls arguing over something. All the kids were screaming and crying. And they didn't even stop fighting. One girl finally stomped off and left us there in the room. I had to walk my daughter and I out alone because the director said she couldn't leave the room now due to some ratio she has to keep. There's no chance I would ever leave my daughter here. more

This school should have been shut down earlier this year. They hired a worker without doing a background check and the daycare workers told me that she had an arrest record that disqualified her from working in a daycare. And from what they said, this wasn't the first time they had hired someone with an arrest record. This was only the first time they had been caught. From what I can see, they have a VERY high turnover rate here. Workers are constantly going in and leaving. There are new faces from week to week sometimes. Lookup their reports on the DCF website. It is posted there. Any daycare that doesn't work to protect the safety of their children should not be in business. The DCF record shows many issues even beyond this. more
