This company went above and beyond to get me scheduled into their busy schedule. From the minute I called to when the move happened, everyone I spoke with were polite, helpful ad ...

Worst

The drivers stole my sons guitar and boom box worth about $1250. They will not do anything about it. Do not use this company.

Editorial review from Citysearch 2/25/2014

Lippincott moved us in May. They also moved the people whose house we bought. They left two huge scratches on the hardwood floors and here we are 10 months later and still no resolution. They were very responsive when obtaining our business and have disappeared now that the move is complete and we are paid in full. Not the type of customer service I expect and will not do business with them again. more

Yesterday (10-10-13) you moved a friend of ours into his new home here in Saugerties NY. I wanted you to know how wonderful the three movers (Bill Folland, Jasson Saucier and Carlos Figueroa) were. They were pleasant, respectful, careful, efficient, and displayed a sense of humor all day long. They were absolutely great and if we or friends ever need a moving company we would not hesitate to recommend Lippincott Van Lines. We have no complaints whatsoever. more

We have had a nightmare experience with this company, top to bottom. They should be shut down by the attorney general. 1. The morning of our move, Lippincott was supposed to arrive between 9 and 10. At 10 am I received a call saying they weren't going to be able to move us that day! Ultimately, that afternoon, they were able to pull together what the manager called ""the B team"" and move some of our stuff out that day. They then showed up two days later, unannounced, to move the rest of the items. 2. By the time they were finishing up on day two, I had this nagging feeling that these folks really weren't very professional. I decided I had better purchase the additional insurance with a $250 deductible. Although guaranteeing me I was wasting my money and wouldn't need it, their lead, Howie, marked the form for $250 deductible full replacement cost insurance and told me: sign here and initial here. I did. 3. They stored our furniture for one month. When they delivered it to our new home, at least 70% of our furniture was ruined. Mattresses were dirty and had holes in them. Our six thousand dollar light yellow sectional couch was wet and had big black marks all over, every wooden bedframe was splintered and beat up. They literally broke a chunk out of a side table and glued it back together! Words cannot describe this damage. The damage absolutely looks intentional. 4. When I called to report the damage, they (a) did not apologize, (b) denied I had purchased insurance saying the form wasn't clear on my intention and (c) took no responsibility for anything. 5. They demanded cash for services. 6. They charged me over $800 more than the quote I was provided. DO NOT GET DUPED BY THIS COMPANY. more

Excellent Service 5/30/2012

Recently relocated with my family and had a wonderful experience with this company. I can not say enough about how they went out of their way to work with us (and overlooked my wife's stress-induced mood swings) when we had several problems with our buyers and had to change dates multiple times. Also really helped with any questions we had or other changes we had to make. It was a bonus when the move came in under the estimate! I would recommend them to anyone. more

Great job! 10/12/2011

We were relocating to another state after having lived in our home for 27 years which means we had lots of stufff. In addition I had collected many valuable antique dishes. My husband had many valuable tools. We wanted a moving company who would deliver everything in the same condition that it was loaded on the van. We also needed help with packing. Lippincott provided excellent service. Their movers were honest, friendly and professional. I say honest because we had forgotten to take several hundred dollars out of a candy jar that was on our kitchen counter. The fellow packing the kitchen called my husband and asked what we wanted him to do. Did we really want to leave it in the candy jar? It would have been so easy to have taken that money and he didn't. WOW, we were impressed! Everything arrived in perfect condition! Not one dish was broken or item missing. The estimate we were given was low, but we feel strongly that estimating weight based on the number of tools my husband was bringing was tough. Also, we brought a bit more furniture that we originally intended. The price was fair when compared to all of the other estimates we had before choosing Lippincott. Thank you Lippincott for the great job and the teriffic people you employ. more

Great Movers for Big Families 1/20/2011

My wife and I decided to relocate the family to a bigger home. We have 3 young kids and a teenager so this was a scary task involving a lot of stuff. To keep our sanity, we needed to make a smooth transition and get our kids back their stuff as soon as possible. Lippincott came in and did just that. I have to give it to them, our move was crazy and we were not as organized as we should have been come move day but they came in, got to work and worked their hides off until it was done and we were in our new home. The price was still very close to the estimate (even though we added several things) and the guys were great. Our items were deliverd safe and sound, and the wife and kids were happy. They did an amazing job, and their office people and movers were awesome. Would absolutely recommend them to everyone! more

Was well worth giving them a chance!! 11/19/2010

My husband and I decided to look up a mover much like I suspect many people do, phone book, internet, etc. We had gotten great feed back from friends and family about Lippincott, but when we saw the review on google we were a little apprehensive. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and get an estimate, and as a result experienced one of the best moves of our lives. From my first phone call through to the last piece of furniture being placed in my new home, each member of their team, from customer service to their moving crew handled me with respect, professionalism and courtesy. They answered my questions (all one million I think including about the bad review) with ease never once making me feel like a pest, and they made the moving portion of my move the most easy and stress free part of relocating, which was already riddles with problems due to Buyers, sellers, realtors, paperwork, cable companies, ect. I am proof positve that sometimes giving someone the benefit of the doubt can reap big rewards. more

NEVER EVER HIRE LIPPINCOTT MOVING...EVER!!! 12/29/2009

They moved me from CT to WV in July 2009. I tipped them $100. Then they proceeded to STEAL power tools, a damascus bladed Japanese katana sword, a moving dolly, an upright vacuum cleaner and NUMEROUS other things. They LOST the glass inserts to my coffee table. The worst thing was that they lost the shelves to my late mothers antique Penn. House cherry China cabinet and broke the legs off of the cherry dining table that was also part of the set. The contract stated that I had 9 months to send in the claim. I waited only 4 1/2 months. I wanted to be sure that the articles were actually gone and not in some box yet to be unpacked. So I sent in the claim in HALF the time allowed. I just received a letter from Lippincott stating that NONE of my losses are their problem. One of the reasons given, It took 4 1/2 months for me to make a claim! I even informed these crooks by telephone within 2 weeks of the move of the missing and damaged property! That's how I got their claim form!!! The owner will not even talk to me! NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER do business or let anyone you care about do business with Lippincott Moving and Storage of CT.!\r PS; They even made off with my checkbook the day of the move!\r One of the chain-monkeys actually bragged of being a Hells' Angel! He then proceeded to complain that my house smelled of cigarette smoke. Some big bad biker! Pros: They have not murdered anyone I know. Cons: They are a den of theives! Stole around $2000 worth of stuff more

Scammers 4/6/2009

These guys marked brand new items as faded, stained, badly worn. Almost everything I owned has a ding, chip or scratch in it now.\r \r I didnt read the code letters close enough when I sign the paperwork, so they say my things were damged before they got there. NOT TRUE.\r \r All I get is sorry you should have paid more for the better insurance.(spent upwards of $7000 for the move to begin with)\r \r BEWARE! DON'T USE THEM! Cons: unprofessional, rude, decietful more
