I hate to disagree with all these reviews, but I feel like I was at a different bar. After driving by this funky looking, vine wrapped, no-name outside bar that we just had to finally go in, we were VERY dissappointed. Us 30 somethings thought we had landed at a frat party for high schooler's. I can see if you are a young 20 someting looking to hook up it might be a great place to find a good looking and clean partner, but for those of us who just wanted to enjoy a good martini and chat with our LA friend, we drank as quickly as we could and left dissappointed. a great bar for anyone, anytime 6/6/2004

I went to the lion pub a few weeks ago for a work party. What a bar! The already spectacular mojitos now have fresh raspberries if you want! The hottie next to me got addicted to the fresh blackberry lemon drops. She made me try it before I even knew her name! hidden pac heights jewel 3/6/2004

I was at the Lion Pub last week, last night, and I'll be going back again soon - probably tonight. After searching high and low in SF for a decent screwdriver, I have to say that the Lion's takes the cake. No OJ from concentrate - they squeezed fresh oranges, right in front of me! Best place to get Mojitos! 3/2/2004

If you are looking for a terrific Mojito, this is the place to come. I came for my best friends birthday party and by the end of it, I must of had 5 mojitos. They are fresh and so good. If I had to pick one bar in SF as my favorite, it would be The Lion. Everytime I come here, you run into the best crowds, drinks, and company. I still can't believe all of the hot and beautiful women that come into here. If you come in alone, don't worry the crowds and bartenders are very friendly and willing to spark up a conversation. The nightlife in SF has been off lately, but this place is always full of some of the most beautiful and fun people around. I love this place because you can have a great time at any time you come here, while people are driving around to find a popular place, the people who know are already here. a perfect package 2/10/2004

I was at the Lion Pub last weekend for a friend's going away party. The place was packed with talent by 10:00, I never waited more than a minute for the best greyhounds I've ever had, and after I thought it couldn't get any better, someone brought out a huge cheese tray, smoked salmon plate, and I don't even know what kind of dip. Unbelievable! I never knew that places like this existed. Kudos to whoever's in charge - I'll be there for my birthday next weekend, no doubt!!! Great spot for drinks 2/6/2004

Using citysearch often to find out what is going on in the city, I came across the Lion and I couldn't be happier. This place has a great atmosphere, drinks, and is one of the busiest places I have been to in a while. On thursday the place was packed and the energy of the bar was great. After having a few drinks they brought out this great free food spread and it made me want to stay for a few more drinks. It was a hit with my friends and I and I can not wait to go back. Cheers. my favorite hangout!! 10/27/2003

Alright, so here's a word of advice from an S.F. native...the Lion Pub is one of the best neighborhood bars in the city. I've been coming here for years and the place never ceases to amaze me....The staff have always been some of the best bartenders in the city (and some of the cutest) and the bar packs in some of San Francisco's most beautiful people. The ratio of girls to guys here is about 4 to 1, but the boys that come along are enough to me keep coming back...and with the great drinks and all that fresh fruit flying around..it seems like a hot little piece of paradise in the middle of the city Pros: appetizers..FREE, fresh, good drinks, laid back Cons: parking more

This is the greatest place in the greatest city that has it all. If you want tasty (not too pricy) drinks, a great atmosphere, and gorgeous women everywhere...THIS IS IT! The bartenders are really awesome and they work wonders with the fresh juice drinks. And the cheese and cracker platter that's brought out for everyone to enjoy is awesome! perfect spot on a week night for a date or to just have a nice quiet drink by the fire place. Hey everybody, just wanting to put my two cents in about one of my favorite places to party on the weekend. This place has some of the best drinks in town and a great crowd to hang out with. Try some of the exotic fruit drinks, trust me when you walk in, you won't be able to miss them and if you are lucky, maybe you can sit near the fireplace. That is a personal favorite of mine. The Lion is in a class by itself. Their drinks are all made with fresh fruit, they don't cost that much, and every time I've been there I noticed many hot and beautiful women. In all my San Francisco bar hopping, I've never been to such a high end place with such a laid back atmosphere - the bartenders aren't snobby at all. I'll be back there soon, that's for sure. THE place to have a party 9/24/2003

I threw a bachelorette party at the Lion Pub last weekend for my oldest best friend in the city. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! I talked the the bar manager only a couple of days before and he arranged for the Lion's famous cheese platters to be brought down just in time for our entrance. The spinach dip was to die for, and I think I could write a whole review just on their fresh fruit drinks! Blackberries, honeydew, watermelon... I need more than 150 words to properly describe how great the Lion Pub is, but for now, I'll just say - go there, now! It must be experienced to be believed! Hip Spot 9/10/2003

This is such a comfortable place with a great vibe and atmosphere. It was my first time at the Lion, and I definitely won't be my last. This great place is so low-key and inviting, that I didn't want to leave. I was lucky enough to get a fireplace seat and great drinks while it was crowded last weekend. It was nice being able to ask the bartender for a drink recommendation and not be let down. Come try this place soon, I might run in to you there. more

Mojito Crazy!!! 8/26/2003

Hands down, the best mojitos in town. These guys (and girl) know what they're doing. You want great drinks and even better mojitos, this is the place. Everyone that works there is very attentive and they really can read your mind when it comes to how stiff you want your drink. The cheese and cracker platter is the best anywhere 'cause no other bar has it. I made last minute plans to have a party there and not only did they have the open space for us, but they even brought out the the cheese when we got there. Hands down, if you want the best drinks made (everything is fresh squeezed) by the best bartenders for the best clientel, The Lion Pub is the last Zion of great bars in San Francisco. The Lion was hot this weekend. I was there on Thursday and Saturday and had an incredible time. The Lion just keeps getting better 8/13/2003

I've been going to the Lion for a few years now. Their greyhounds and screwdrivers are easily the best in town. No contest. I gotta say though, their newer drinks are killing everyone in the city! Blueberry mojitos? Peach and Cantaloupe margaritas? All of them with fresh fruit? Fuhgeddaboutit! The place is setting new standards every time I walk in there. Nice work guys and gals. first impressions aren't always right 7/29/2003

I was amazed at how easy it was to book a party on such short notice. The bartenders and the bar manager were so nice and accomodating. I thought it was going to be a quiet little bar that we would just stop in to get our party started but this place was awesome!
