What the Princeton Review and others won't tell you is that Lesley University is a refugee camp for faculty and administrators who have trouble working well with their colleagues. There is a real air of ""I've paid my dues and I'm looking for my reward"" at this university. The administrative structure is a nightmare, advisors for adult students are uncommitted technophobic underachievers, and the few full-time faculty who are responsive are so inundated with students it's impossible to get good advice. If the ""Wake up the world"" slogan is the appealing thing for you, look elsewhere--it's just a marketing tool Lesley uses. The dead giveaway is the unapologetic lack of accurate information on Lesley's website. Maybe the university's new president will straighten things out, but you'd be wise to save your money and look elsewhere if high ideals are your thing. You can wake up the world better at just about any other private school in the Boston area.
Pros: student centered approach
Cons: no commitment to students
