I feel this is the best veterinary clinic in all of North Carolina that I have been too. Service was wonderfull, prices were reasonable, and the doctors were very knowledgeable. A++ more

Compassionate staff 10/20/2010

I'm surprised to read any poor reviews about Leesville Animal Hospital. I recently moved to NC and went to this vet clinic on the recommendation of a colleague. Here is my experience:\r \r My older dog had been failing for awhile and I had been taking him to a vet in Michigan. He went downhill fast after the move to Raleigh. I knew that it was time to have him put to sleep. I've never had to do this before, so I wasn't sure how to go about it. I made the call to Leesville and the lady on the phone was super helpful - very professional and caring. She explained the options (cremation, etc.) and scheduled the appointment.\r \r I met with the Doctor, who explained what would happen and assured me that I wasn't making a selfish decision. The receptionist had me complete the form and pay in the exam room, so I didn't have to stand up front with other people coming in and out. They staff gave me as much time as I needed with my beloved friend and even made a paw print for me, which I wil more

Sad ending for a sweet dog 10/10/2010

Sad Ending For a Sweet Dog\r After taking our dog of 13 years to Leesville Animal Hospital for most of her life, I regret ever putting her in their care. On September 20th I picked up my yellow lab, Maggie, after a weekend of boarding. When my husband took her in on the previous Friday she walked in with her tail wagging. When I picked her up on Monday she could barely stand up and as it turned out, never stood up again. We do not blame them for her decline and had in fact signed a waiver requesting that no measures be taken to diagnose or treat her. She had been showing signs of aging decline. What I object to is the lack of communication and or compassion. No one warned me that her condition had deteriorated so I was stunned when she came out. She was dazed, could not stand, and her head was just fur on bone with her eyes sunken and skull protruding. The assistant lifted her into the back of the suv for me. I commented to her that I would know in Maggies eyes when it was time to put h more

If you love your pet(s)... 8/13/2010

?then this is the place for you! Since I?ve been bringing my cats to this hospital, I?ve been extremely impressed. I?ve found the staff to be friendly, caring, knowledgeable and overall helpful. One of my girls tends to be a little feisty (to put it nicely) during check-ups but the Leesville staff is able to handle her with ease. I?ll never forget that on the day I was dropping my ?Princess? off for surgery, I was told to feel free to call as often as I wanted to check on her because the front desk staff could see I was clearly worried. I was called immediately after her surgery to let me know that my little girl was okay! The day after her spay, the receptionist called to check on Princess and asked that I call back to give an update on how she was doing at home. This type of personal attention and caring is unmatched. Plus, they have managed to squeeze me in a couple of times for urgent, last minute appointments. Again, that it an indicator that they truly car more

cpandpuppy 5/18/2010

I just left Leesville Animal Hospital for the first time and had a great experience. The front staff was extremely friendly and helpful and everyone treated my puppy like their own. The vet tech who introduced me to all my puppy would need was extremely knowledgeable and I can say nothing but fabulous things about the vet who took the time to explain everything to me. From beginning to end, this was the best place I could have began my puppy's lifelong experience with a hospital. Now I just hope she does well in the training program they have! more

Leesville Animal Hospital is great 11/12/2009

I?ve been a client of Leesville Animal Hospital since 1998. It was our first stop once we picked up our puppy from the breeder. Thankfully, our dog has been somewhat healthy and we do bring her in for regular checks and immunizations. As a big part of our family, we don?t take her care lightly and wouldn?t trust it with any other vet. She has required surgery for two of her knees. After both procedures, she has received wonderful physical therapy and has recovered beautifully. She?s back to chasing squirrels at 11 years old! The office staff has always been courteous and responsive. We vacation on a regular basis and she spends time boarding at the kennel and partakes in doggy day camp. How many dogs race to enter a vet?s office? Mine does! We?ve made a great choice with Leesville Animal Hospital. more

HIGHLY RECOMMEND LEESVILLE ANIMAL HOSPITAL 11/12/2009

It is with a great deal of "shock" that I read some of the negative reviews of Leesville Animal Hospital. I also was happy to see all the positive reviews. I do feel a need to add my comments on a most positive note. I have been using Leesville Animal Hospital for almost 10 years. They have provided both care and boarding services for both my dog and cat. The first thing you notice is the attention you receive the minute you walk in the door. The reception area is friendly and free from foul ordors. At other vets that I used, my dog would balk, whine and pull away the minute I got close to the door. Not here....my dog walks in and looks for the friendly attention he always gets. We have had some serious medical problems with my dog and their professional opinions and medical treatment has always been spot on. I have learned to respect the opinions of Dr. Pearce and his staff. Their conservative approach to what I would have considered serious problems has always resulted in more

Wouldn't Recommend 11/9/2009

We have taken our dogs to Leesville Animal Hospital several times over the years, just because the location is convenient. But we haven't been thrilled with them. I always feel like the vet bill is being jacked up. For example, for every annual exam, they require that bloodwork be done on our otherwise healthy dogs. I have never had a vet require bloodwork during a check up. Having never been given a good explanation for "why," my only conclusion is that they are attempting to run up the bill. Also, with a very small number of exceptions, we have never seen the same vet twice. Seems like a revolving door for vets there. We have never boarded our dogs there, so I don't know anything about those services. But I wouldn't recommend this vet, if you have other choices. more

Questionable Care, Steep Prices 11/9/2009

I moved close by this practice and decided to try it after reading the mixed reviews -- I figured I would see for myself and couldn't say no to the convenient location. Pricing for veterinary care is steeper than I am used to from our old vet (who was wonderful). I've boarded my lab mix there twice and I have decided I won't be going back, either for veterinary or boarding care. The first time she boarded there I had to be out of town for 10 days. Their website says you can provide personal belongings so I sent along one of my (clean but worn to sleep in) t-shirts and her favorite toy. The shirt was folded and put into a plastic bag with the toy on top. When I returned from my trip, they handed back her stuff in the same bag and in the exact same folded/stacked position. They never even gave them to her while I was gone. Just this past weekend, I was out of town only for Saturday night. However I had to leave so early on Saturday that she had to be dropped off Friday after work. more

Satisfied 10/1/2009

My dog and two cats have been going to Leesville Animal Hospital for about three and a half years now, and we have had no complaints. In fact, our Boston terrier just loves going to daycamp on a weekly basis! We do like the emergency doctor on call, but there is a recording to direct us to a local emergency clinic if no response (sometimes technology fails!)--if that eases peoples anxiety from the last review (my condolences with you). I'm sad to see some of the reviews as they have never been the case with me. We will continue to leave Leesville's doctors with the care of our pets for a lifetime. more

Be Cautious! 9/27/2009

I have mixed feelings. The turnover of vet doctors is high over the years. My dog was sick one weekend and not one response to the many phone calls I made even when I knew there was someone there. That next Monday at the front desk she joked and said "well if Dr. So-in-so was on no wonder there wasn't a call back". Then I sadly told her my dog died. I also kenneled a cat there once and she came home with feces all over her - I was terribly upset! I never went back there again. I pulled out my remaining two cats and dogs and are quiet happy with our NEW VET. Over the years I have heard similar stories. But YOU have to live with the consequences if you take your pet there. more

Leesville Animal Hospital-Loving, Caring, Experienced! 9/26/2009

Leesville Animal Hospital has taken wonderful care of our two dogs for over 15 years and we love the doctors, staff and clinic! When treatment is needed they explore all the options and communicate to us what those options are in a loving and caring manner. They truly love and connect with the animals! \r \r Ann R. more

Leesville Animal Hospital gains two long term patients!!! 9/22/2009

I had chosen to take my two Jack Russells to Leesville out of the recommendations of 2 neighbors & have been VERY PLEASED with the decision. The doctors and staff are compassionate & knowledgeable. I particularly appreciate the after hours doctor on-call...which most hospitals do not have...it sure came in handy when "Jack" ate a whole bag of chocolate!!! Thank you!! more

Very good care 9/15/2009

Dr. Pearce and his staff have taken care of my personal dogs for 20+ years and have helped care for many dogs taken into our rescue program - Doberman Rescue of NC, Inc. - for several years now. I have always been very pleased with the care given to the dogs The staff have always been friendly, courteous, and helpful. The health and welfare of the dogs have always been utmost in the minds of the staff at Leesville AH and we are proud to be clients. more

Leesville Animal Hospital -rebuttal-rest of the story 8/17/2009

We strive to provide quality medical/surgical care and a spacious clean kennel facility. As is always ,there is another important side to the stories. Please take the time to read. PRICEY AND ONLY ONE GOOD VET:pet did have an injured foot we had to re-splint due to the owner not complying with our instructions to keep the splint clean and dry. OWNER WAS NOT CHARGED A RECHECK OR WOUND TREATMENT FEE-JUST RE-SPLINTING DUE TO POOR COMPLIANCE:This patient still comes to us!!DO NOT EVER GO TO LEESVILLE; all pets are inspected many times daily and prior to discharge-no complaint was given by the owner at discharge-only after pet went home. Even though the pet was clean at discharge,we offered a free bath. UNfortunately, some pets will get loose stool due to stress/food change. These are treated at no charge when we see this while they are boarding. The price of the bath was not removed, because Dottie had received a complimentary bath-that means there was NO CHARGE. As for the salivary cyst-the more

Leesville Animal Hospital is the only place for me and my pets! 8/11/2009

What a wonderful veterinarian and fabulous staff at Leesville Animal Hospital! I've been going to this office for over 10 years and have NEVER found them to be anything but the utmost professional and caring staff. They have helped me through the years to understand everything from the reasons for the behavior of my pet, to the diseases he has encountered. Also, I have checked their prices on several occasions and have never found another hospital to be lower. We are fortunate to have such a professional team as this in Raleigh, NC. I have recommended this hospital to all of my friends and they, too have had nothing but great things to say about Leesville Animal Hospital more

DO NOT EVER GO TO LEESVILLE ANIMAL HOSPITAL! 7/2/2009

This is the worst vet I have ever been to and will NEVER take my bulldog back. They act as though they care but when we boarded our dog for a weekend, her backside was covered with feces and even had feces hanging out of her bottom upon pickup. When asked if she had gotten sick, the tech replied, "why do you ask?" On top of the ignorance, we had dropped our dog off on Friday afternoon and picked her up Sunday and were charged for 3 days of boarding instead of 2 nights. Another way to overcharge the clientele. We were livid. When we got home our poor dog was pooping blood and the vet on call just made sure we got a complimentary bath...are you kidding me?! A few days later we had to return for an inflamed salivary gland and asked to have the price of the bath taken off the bill for the salivary gland and they said there was no way they can do that because it was a complimentary thing. Again, are you kidding me?! The vet recommended surgery for the salivary gland and stated it w more

Egotistical Vet 6/7/2009

I do not like this animal hospital. The Dr was awful as well as the office staff and the vet techs. My dogs were kenneled here and when I picked them up, they were covered in feces and urine. I had even paid for baths. Someone sprayed them with perfume and stuck a bandanna on them, but I could see feces matted in the hair. The doctor treated us like we were awful owners because we couldn't afford the thousands of dollars in treatments. Do not take your animals here! more

DO NOT SEEM TO CARE!! 4/30/2009

I will agree with the others. My dog was very sick barely with us and could not walk. We have been going there for 7 years and spent a lot of money with 6 pets. They were more interested in money instead of saving her life. They gave a quick estimate but the bill was much larger and rushed us to check out before they would give our dog back.they refused to work with us on the balance or bill us. they left the dog in a room with no attention until we could bring back funds hours later.very cold and money driven. The owner said it was a business and bus. need to get get paid. This it not k-mart. We trust our family members lives with them and you think they become doctors and have a practice to save lives first and worry about money second or help where they can in the best interest of the animal.I would not recommend them. more
