First, it helps the client determine if the problem is truly of a legal nature by screening inquiries and referring the client to other service agencies when appropriate. The second, and most important, is to provide the client with an unbiased referral to an attorney who has experience in the area of law appropriate to the client's needs.In many ways, LRS serves as a clearinghouse for the entire legal community in the Austin area. Intake staff LRS screens each call to determine the caller's legal problem. A referral is made either to a lawyer's office or to an agency or group that may assist.
