My wife filed for divorce in 2007. At the time we had a son who was only 7. For the past 5 years our litigation has gone nowhere, with mutual restraining orders filed, different motions and claims brought and no movement toward settlement whatsoever. In January of 2013, a friend who had used Mr. Williams in Orange County where my case was told me about him and that he was now in Monterey. At first I was hesitant to hire an attorney 100s of miles away, but then by reading my friends file, I knew I had to hire him. As of last week, we have a trial set, all property divided except for one debt, and I have full physical custody of our son, pending a Court ordered CWS investigation of my now ex-wife. While it is not over, until the trial and investigation concludes, I have not felt this relieved in five years. I pray the trial goes as well as our hearing went and have no doubt it will. So long as I have to go to family court, and as long as Daniel is a CA attorney, no matter where he is, I will gladly pay his airfare and hotel to have the honor to be chosen for being represented by him, as I soon found out he does not take just any client. more

Also in ensuring my ex's parents were able to get grandparent visitation, something my ex -- who became estranged from all of her family -- was opposed to. I found him to always be compassionate and helpful with all my legal needs. I would highly recommend his services. At many times I had the mindset of throwing in the towel, as the attorneys who handle claims at my place of employment always say settle, settle, settle, Mr. Williams stood by me at times I was so drained, I could barely stand. Perfect Job!\r \r What to say. My wife served me with divorce papers, asked I have supervised visitation, and wanted to relocate with our kids to Boston. She had been a stay at home wife, and her attorney told her that it would be a slam dunk for her since she had primarily raised the kids and I traveled every other month for work. None of her requests were granted, our divorce is final, and because Dan had the recent case law to use, I have 80% custody and although entitled to child support, declined it. I work hard and my whole world is dependent on my kids. Had they been able to move to Boston, I would have lost everything. Cannot thank him enough. \r more

Excellent Job. Mr. Williams was very straight forward and honest with me when I first came to see him. I had been thinking about a custody modification and was eager to file. When I asked him if it would be bad if I did file, I was shocked to hear him say that it would only be bad for him, as in he was turning away a case that was premature. When things did develop, I immediately went to him and we filed my modification, and my ex and I now have a workable order, and I think that suggestions he made to the court that were ordered but fought my my ex's attorney are working well and will keep us out of court. My ex and I are getting along and my ex even told me that I was luck to have hired Daniel as the outcome will save us both money for having to go back to court. more

I was referred to Daniel Williams, because I needed a divorce lawyer and child custody attorney for my case in Monterey. I had been told that he had spent ten years in San Diego, so I was a little nervous at first. He proved to be the the best investment I made. Mr. Williams knows his stuff, the family code, case law, and how to be the utmost professional. Unlike some others who were achieving nothing by fighting with judge and opposing counsel, Mr. Williams was truly Mr. Civility and I saw the respect for him in the eyes of the Judge, the FCS mediator, and opposing counsel. I could not be happier with my results, and think that Mr Williams is the most professional and accomplished attorney on the Central Coast. more

I wanted you to know that Atty. Williams did a very good job to my case. I am so thankful that we choose Atty. Williams. He is very aggressive, punctual, organize, very reliable, He really knows what he's doing. He's a good lawyer for me. My husband abducted our child for over two years, Now I have my baby with me. I was serving in Afghanistan and going through a divorce while deployed. Although I had the right to stay the process while deployed, I had a SKYPE consultation with attorney Williams and hired him to represent me while serving overseas. Mr. Williams was able to join my mother to the action and arrange for her to have temporary custody of my daughter until I returned to San Diego. I have primary custody of my daughter and was fortunate to have her rights looked after when other lawyers told me joining my mother would be impossible and that because of my service I wouldn?t get primary custody. It was worth every dollar I spent and as I assume I will be taken back to court over custody until our daughter is 18, I will be using Mr. Williams so long as he is able to represent me. more

Unreliable & Overcharges via hidden fees 2/21/2012

I had a very bad experience with Mr. Williams. Summary below:\r 1. Sometimes Mr. Williams would make mistakes in the legal papers filed in the court.\r 2. Mr. Williams may not be able to present the case in front of the judge properly and may make numerous mistakes.\r 3. Sometimes it is difficult to get hold of Mr. Williams\r 4. Mr. Williams would do all the little things, like serving the other lawyer, submitting papers in the court by himself that can take anywhere between 1 to 5 hours every time and that equals to more than $500 of your own money every time! All of this can be done just for <~$50 using a courier service, or you can do it yourself to save thousands of dollars. He doesn't use any paralegals to this work which can be done cheaply. Once I had to pay more than $1000 just for him to serve the papers in the court, and it just happened to take a long time at the court. It was unbelievable. Despite what I hear are high divorce rates when it came down to needing a family law attorney, I had two co-workers at my firm that had used Mr. Williams and had their and another attorney to chose from that another co-worker had used. I met with both and felt Mr. Williams told me more of what to expect than what I wanted to hear. I met with both and felt Mr. Williams told me more of what to expect than what I wanted to hear. Child custody was an issue and the rest was just basically hard work on his part knowing the family code as to our assets. I’m very happy with the result and found the best quality was his professionalism in deescalating my and my ex-wife’s personal situation to a resolution that allows us to put aside any hard feelings and focus on our kids. Divorce Lawyer Deserves 5 Stars 11/13/2010

Very Professional Divorce Attorney in Del Mar/Sorrento Valley. \r Also found him on YP.com. Our case was resolved in two months from my first appointment to having a copy of a conformed judgment with the date of separation effective February 2011, which is four months from now. Filed my petition which included all necessary financial declarations and attachments. Had one semi-contested custody hearing mostly avoided by our court mediation. Seemed well recognized by the other lawyers. more

Well, I see one or two are not as ecstatic as I am today after finally getting permission of the Court to relocate to Hawaii with my son! Maybe your problem is with CA law if you blame all your lawyers. My expierence was that Daniel Williams in handling my divorce and then two years later modification of custody for move away was that he was above and beyone prepared to meet my burden of proof and to establish counter arguments that outweighed those of my ex, who has a good relationship with our son and had 50/50 until my move. It was hard and emotional and even when giving me bad news, Dan always made me feel good. In the end I am able to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity and be with my son. I would NEVER go with another lawyer as he has been dead on every time we have to go to Court. more

Dagger-Sharp Agressiveness and Reasonably Priced 2/20/2010

Mr. Williams attacks, attacks and attacks and the more my husband played the games the harder the attack. I feel that every issue that needed to be addressed was done so thoroughly and nothing was compromised that didnt have to be. As my attorney, Mr. Williams was not only very aggressive, but he also was very smart at using logic to show the absurd answers and explanations we received on almost every issue. If you want someone who is not afraid to stand up to someone three times his physical size and 20 years older than him, Mr. Williams will NOT back off and he is very reasonably priced. more
