Laugh Ur Ass Off! 9/4/2010

I have been raving to friend's and family about Laughs Comedy Spot for a couple of years now so the least I could do is to share with all of you. I have had nothing but excellent service from the hostess to the owners. Angela (the owner) is friendly and inviting to everyone who enters her establishment. I have even seen her go around and ask patrons how they are doing and if she can get them anything. If you are anything like me, you have stopped going to the comedy clubs we have in Seattle for a couple of reasons: 1) Location 2) Cleanliness 3) Atmosphere 4) Parking Laughs Comedy Spot is centrally located, is very clean, awesome atmosphere and parking is available and free! And the comics are HILARIOUS! Which is the most important. Just remember tho to keep an open mind. If you are easily offended then it is probably not the place for you. They can be rude and crude and the language can be down right distgusting, but that is the best part about it. lol If you are looking for something to do or plan a party, then this is the place to go. I have spent my last two b-days there and plan on spending my next one there too. Enjoy and Laugh! Laughing is the best therapy. more

K-towns best little secret.... 5/29/2008

I have been going to Laughs Comedy Spot every weekend since I first found out about the place about 3 months ago. It will have been open for a year come the begining of June, and I cant believe that I never went before. The place is great. There's always a fun, energetic atmosphere and the comics 9 times out of 10 are hillarious. You do have to remember to keep an open mind, but it's all in good fun and that's why people go. The waitresses are cute and friendly and work their butts off, and the bartender always makes really good drinks! :) Really good. ;) Dave and Angela are great people and do a great job running the place. I recommend Laughs to at least 10 people a day, and more times than not, people dont even realize that it's just right here in Kirkland! :) Grab a friend, or grab a date, go to the website to find your taste in comedy and then go to that show. It's really that simple. Like I said, I'm there every weekend with my friends ( who are all cute ;) btw) and hope to see more new faces this weekend! :) more

Funny comics, clean environment, great weekend spot 5/28/2008

Laughs is the only place on the Eastside to see live comedy! The parking is free and well lit, the club is new and clean, and it's incredibly easy to find! Definitely beats driving out to Seattle and the staff remembers my drink order... kinda like my very own ""Cheers!"" bar {NORM!}. Pros: clean, parking, service, friendly, funny, convenient Cons: unknown more

Great Show! 5/28/2008

I recently went to see Robert Hawkins at Laughs and it was a great show! Robert was very funny, lived up to his reputation and Ty Barnett was also a great surprise. The feature act, Brian (from Boston) was also a great young comic and took time to talk with a group of us after the show. The service is better than any of the comedy clubs in the Seattle area, so if you are looking for a better experience you might as well stay home. The owner is a nice guy and I applaud what he is doing bringing quality comedy to the East Side. Pros: GREAT COMICS, EASY PARKING, GREAT FOOD more

This is an Awesome Comedy Spot!!! 5/27/2008

Laugh's Comedy Spot in Kirkland is the best thing that's happened to the East Side for entertainment in a long time. I'm a regular and can't say enough about the place. I appreciate the fact that the shows are policed for people talking and being obnoxious during the events because I don't come to see the public act like asses... I come to see the comics and am paying to be entertained by a professional. It's irritating and rude to the rest of the people that paid good money to see the show to have it be interrupted by someone's own personal need for attention. If you don't want to sit through a comdey show and be entertained...don't go to one. The food is great, the service is top notch and the owners have done an awesome job at making sure that everyone from their staff to their customers to their comics are taken care of the way they should be. The only ones that seem to write bad reviews about Laugh's are people that are asked to stop disrupting the shows so consider the source. Laugh's is a great place and I it's a class act. I would recommend it to anyone that is a comedy fan and wants the total experience. Pros: Attentive Cons: When people won't shut up and no one makes them more

The Best Comedy Experience in the Greater Seattle Metropolitan Area 5/27/2008

Full disclosure: I am a stand-up comic myself, and thus find myself at Laughs regularly and thusly view it from a potentially different standpoint than the average patron. Pros: Great comics, great atmosphere more

World class comedy spot, nestled on the eastside! 5/27/2008

Situated in a well appointed, comfortable and clean atmosphere, Laughs really takes comedy to the next level with world class comics. Not only are the cocktail waitresses very polite and efficient, but the bar mixes up fantastic cocktails that compliment a fresh appetizer or entree from the kitchen! Pros: Awesome location more

Very very funny 5/24/2008

I laughed my butt off. Alonso Boden is hilarious! Nice place, you can come early and have dinner, they also serve drinks. The desserts are excellent! Pros: I really like this place. more

Not worth the money and crappy management! 5/12/2008

I was at the Doug Stanhope show on 5/3 with a party of 20+ people that each paid 24.00 a ticket to get in. Yes we were seated first, however the service and management was out of line. An altercation took place when the security refused to let a member of our party use the restroom. Apparently the managment was unhappy that someone had playfully bood one of the comics. Hey...I thought that is what happens at comedy shows, especially when they act is not that great. Anyway it turned out to be a horrible experieced and the police were called, etc. The comic even made it a point to comment on our party as part of his act and making threats etc, which really did not help his act out any. With the bar bill, plus the ticket costs, I can definitely think of alot better ways to spend $800. Basically I don't think any of us would go back. more

A good laugh on the Eastside 5/4/2008

As a regular customer of Laughs, I can honestly say that I have ALWAYS had a good time and last Saturday (5/3) started out the same. The headliner was a VERY popular comic (Doug Stanhope) and the shows were sold out. so the place was packed. Everyone was jazzed and ready to have a good time. As always at Laughs, there were a couple of warm up acts, so not only do you get a great headliner, but also some other up and coming acts as well. Heck of a deal for 20 bucks! Granted, you dont always know what your getting with the warm up acts and some performers are better than others, but one guy in the audience really didnt like one of the warm up acts and got really vocal about it. If youve been to any comedy show you know that there are sometimes hecklers, thats part of the deal I guess, but we all paid our money to hear the acts, not the audience though and it's the reason the managment has to keep a handle on it getting out of hand. So I guess when they asked the guy to keep it down, he just escalated it to the point where they had to call security over. He got hostile and one thing led to another and he was ""escorted"" out the back door and the Kirkland men in blue showed up. Bummer way to end an evening for that dude but certainly not the fault of Laugh's management. Heck even Doug (the headliner) ,who is seriously anti-management and definitely anti-cop, said he thought the guy was out of line and he supported the bouncer and the cops! Anyway, I just wanted to write and let everyone know that Laughs is great place to come for dinner and a show. Great value and nice staff trying to make sure everyone is able to have good time in spite of a few rowdys. Give it a try and judge for yourself. Oh, and be ready to LOL. Pros: Dont have to pay for parking, convenient location, fun acts, great value Cons: Dont always know the acts ahead of time so keep an open mind. more

Great location, awesome performances & nice atmosphere. 5/4/2008

I was at the Doug Stanhope show last night, and it was amazing. The opening comics were hilarious and the service was promt. I heard that somebody wrote a bad review because they were thrown out for being an idoit. I also learned that they ended up in jail that night. So before taking the advice of a moran, check the place out for yourself. And if you get a chance to see the legendary Doug Stanhope... Do it!! He is a comic genious. Pros: Nothing bad to say from my expreiences... Cons: Screening should be done to keep the village idiot out, I guess. more

thanks for a wonderful night out! 5/4/2008

My husband and I rarely go out (having 2 kids puts a constraint on our time), so when we do have a 'date-night', we are hoping for top-notch food and entertainment. We enjoyed both at Laughs recently and were so glad that we had made the drive from Seattle to check it out! The comedians were great, the food selection and quality superlative, and the service friendly and responsive. I have recommended this establishment to other parents- we're hoping to all come back over from Seattle for future engagements at Laughs. Pros: great energy (comics and staff), impressive menu more

Fun Place When You're Going Solo 3/26/2008

I had the opportunity to be at the Greg Behrendt show on Saturday (3/22) and really enjoyed myself. Not only was the headliner great, but so was the host and the featured comic. It was a packed house but you can hear and see what's going on onstage anywhere you might be seated. I have been at Laughs on several other occasions and have always found it a fun place to go, particularly when it's just me and I'm not with a group. The staff always makes me feel welcome and never out of place, which can sometimes happen at establishments when you go as a single person. I like the fact that there are no fried foods and the kitchen has always been accommodating of some special dietary needs I have. While I enjoy being able to see a headliner like Greg Behrendt, it is also just as much fun to see new comics and pros try out their material at open mic night. It makes me appreciate the effort that goes into putting together a routine. I think it's great that there is this sort of venue on the Eastside, close to where I live, and that I always feel welcome when I go there. more

AWESOME PLACE TO SPEND AN EVENING!!!!! 3/11/2008

I have visited Laugh's on a few different occassions. I have found the comedians funny, service great and had a great time on each visit. The drinks and food are good. Bravo for the healthy menu and great free parking!!! Great place to meet your friends!!! I am definitely a repeat customer. Pros: All pros more

Comedy Good, Service Lacking 2/25/2008

I went on Saturday night 2/23 with a very large group....we found the food and beverage service to be great, the comedians exceptional but the people that greeted and sat you were rude and unprofessional more

Laughs Comedy Club 2/21/2008

Some of the comedians were funny, but the staff is rude as hell. It's not worth it. It's hard to have fun when the staff is making you feel unwelcome. more

Worst place I've ever been....pass on it and go to the real comedy clubs downtown! 2/20/2008

Terrible service....people and owners are rude. I would pass on this place and go to downtown for a better atmosphere. Pros: a few good comedians Cons: the owners aren't nice and either is the service more

GREAT COMEDY CLOSE TO HOME 2/1/2008

I thought - a comedy club in Totem Lake? How good can THAT be? I was pleasantly surprised. Once inside Laughs I left the Totem Lake Blues behind and felt like I was in Seattle (without the commute!). The staff were cheerful and helpful, the seating was comfortable and the performances I have attended have been FUNNY!! As with any comedy club, some performers are more entertaining than others but Laughs seems to be working hard to book national comedians and I look forward to the shows! more
