As a regular customer of Laughs, I can honestly say that I have ALWAYS had a good time and last Saturday (5/3) started out the same. The headliner was a VERY popular comic (Doug Stanhope) and the shows were sold out. so the place was packed. Everyone was jazzed and ready to have a good time. As always at Laughs, there were a couple of warm up acts, so not only do you get a great headliner, but also some other up and coming acts as well. Heck of a deal for 20 bucks! Granted, you dont always know what your getting with the warm up acts and some performers are better than others, but one guy in the audience really didnt like one of the warm up acts and got really vocal about it. If youve been to any comedy show you know that there are sometimes hecklers, thats part of the deal I guess, but we all paid our money to hear the acts, not the audience though and it's the reason the managment has to keep a handle on it getting out of hand. So I guess when they asked the guy to keep it down, he just escalated it to the point where they had to call security over. He got hostile and one thing led to another and he was ""escorted"" out the back door and the Kirkland men in blue showed up. Bummer way to end an evening for that dude but certainly not the fault of Laugh's management. Heck even Doug (the headliner) ,who is seriously anti-management and definitely anti-cop, said he thought the guy was out of line and he supported the bouncer and the cops! Anyway, I just wanted to write and let everyone know that Laughs is great place to come for dinner and a show. Great value and nice staff trying to make sure everyone is able to have good time in spite of a few rowdys. Give it a try and judge for yourself. Oh, and be ready to LOL.
Pros: Dont have to pay for parking, convenient location, fun acts, great value
Cons: Dont always know the acts ahead of time so keep an open mind.
