Larry's Towing Svc

\r I've noticed a few bad reviews, but I have to say that my experience today with Larry's Towing Services was anything but bad. \r \r My battery was DEAD. I thought I'd have to get a new one but thought I'd use my AAA service in hopes that a charge would work. \r \r Once AAA got me over to Larry's Towing Service, I got a call immediately from Larry to let me know his truck just left the station to where I was. I was called with an update and they arrived within 15 minutes; the AAA estimate had been 30-45 minutes. \r \r My battery was charged in no time flat. They even took the time to show me how to charge my own battery (because I asked). \r \r Friendly, fast, excellent service. Highly recommend this service! If I ever get stuck again, I hope it's Larry's Towing that comes to aid! more

Sorry, but these guys are super rude. The woman who answers the phone at their tow number 415.864.3025 is extremely rude as well. These guys towed my car today, and demanded $340 to release it. Fukenaye...$340 ??? Highway robbery I'd say...anyways, we called the cops, they said I only needed to pay $260 to get the car released. Larry's Tow is dishonest, rude and unfriendly...they will charge you more than you need to pay for a tow, cuz that is how they do business. ALWAYS call the cops whenever Larry's Tow gets your car. They need more customer complaints and 1-star reviews...maybe that will straighten them up, or get them to get the hell out of our city !!! I called Larrys Towing after reading all the stellar reviews on another review service. I mean they have a solid five stars. Then i saw the reveiws on City search and had to set the record straight. These guys are fast and gave me a great discount on my tow for mentioning I saw them online. The driver told me they were in buissness since 1968 and it shows with the service they provide. I have never written a review for anything, but this place's poor customer service is beyond what I have ever seen before in my life! They really don't deserve to be in business - if there is such a thing as karma, people will read this and take their business elsewhere!\r \r I needed to get my car from one repair shop to another and it wasn't drivable, so I was in a bind. Since I was calling from home, I also needed a place that would take a credit card over the phone. The woman who answered the phone at Larry's was so utterly rude to me on the phone that I spent the next half hour calling a bunch of other places in the phonebook trying to find literally anyone else to do it. VERY reluctantly and only because I was out of time, I called Larry's back. She quoted me two hours to pick up my car. I asked her to try to get it a half hour earlier if at all possible, to give the repair shop they were bringing it to enough time to fix it before the end of the day, in time for the weekend. She said they'd try but couldn't make any guarantees, and in a rude manner asked if I wanted them to pick it up or not. Having no choice, I agreed. \r \r 3 hours later I called the repair shop to make sure my car was there and underway, and it was still not there! (I had set up the tow at 10 AM and it was now 1 PM!) I called Larry's and they said that they hadn't guaranteed when they could pick it up. I complained that they had said they hadn't guaranteed an hour and a half, and there was a big difference between 1.5 hours and 3 hours! She started yelling at me and asking if I wanted them to tell the tow truck not to pick it up at all! Shocked, I asked to speak with the manager. She left, and then came back and said ""I'm the manager."" Apparently the manager told her to ""deal with it"".\r \r My repair shop (John Gardiner) uses these folks and that's how I got referred to them, but if you have happened to read this, please do yourself a favor and use anyone else. Let's say I have some sort of evil curse when it comes to cars. Trust me, I'm no newcomer when it comes to the art of having your car towed. Drivers are usually awesome, since they know you're already in a crappy situation. This experience was a bit different than usual. The only positive from my experience was the driver showing up in about 10 minutes. Besides that, all went to hell. When the the truck driver showed up, I was not greatly kindly at all. I had requested a flatbed truck, since my car is lowered about 1 inch, and a regular truck showed up. I needed my car towed from one shop to to another, and have had my car towed about 3 times in the last month (from other companies, through AAA), without a problem. The only words that came out of the drivers mouth were complaints about how they didn't do modified cars. He then dispathed AAA to let them know that my car was lowered, but did not request another truck to come out. He then proceeded to lecture me about my modified car, and then took off. He did absolutely nothing to help my situation, and acted like a grumpy old man. These guys are jerks. Do yourself a favor and use a different company. Pros: Will get to you in timely matter. If you are in a bind and need a tow, this is definitely a great place to choose. We were picked up promptly and the driver was very friendly. We were having our car towed to somewhere he didn't care for but he just made a gentle recommendation for his friend but took us where we wanted to go. When we got to the auto repair shop and realized it was a horrible rip-off, our driver took us to his friend down the road at Tire Broker and Auto Service. The guys there were so friendly and figured out the problem in under 5 minutes and didn't charge us. Larry's Towing called us the next day to make sure we had been taken care of.
