BEST Produce and Price hands down! 11/30/2006

sugar plums, berries, spinach, nuts, tomatos that taste like tomatos, flax sees, nut better, salad dressings, local eggs, local milk, local bread, local sausage, buffalo. Way better than the outdoor produce stands where everything is dirty. If they sold toilet paper and stoneyfield farm yogurt I could eliminate the grocery store altogether! I love this place. more

Lakeshore Produce Market 9/18/2005

So far I have had pretty good experiences with the Lakeshore Produce Market. It's very handy and easily accessible from several major streets and has plenty of parking, though their lot is awkwardly shaped. They have a good selection, though no better than any grocery store's produce section. Prices are better than your average grocery store and worse than your local Wal*Mart Supercenter (but that's not even remotely surprising). The items I bought were all very fresh and tasty and I highly recommend their vine-ripe tomatoes! Delicious. Overall though the thing that sets this produce market above all others I've been to in Jax (grocery stores notwithstanding) is that it's AIR CONDITIONED! It's very nice to go to a real produce market that has A/C so you don't have to roast and endure flies while you shop. Overall, I recommend it but it's not good enough to stop me from picking up some fresh produce when I do my usual grocery shopping. more

Missing the days of the neighborhood produce stand 8/6/2005

This is the place for you if you are missing the local produce stand that all neighborhoods used to have. This market is well lit, clean and friendly. They always keep just enough fruit and vegetables on hand to make selection easy. The prices usually beat the local grocers and often the quality outshines them. I like my trips to Lake Shore Market because I always feel like I'm doing something good for my family when I make my purchases. more
