Buyer Beware!!! I wish I would have read reviews for this venue prior to booking. The worst experience ever! Bud and Linda are very "seasoned" personnel and set in their ways. ...

This Place Is Beautiful!!! 2/13/2011

I went to a wedding there last summer and was very impressed upon arriving as the grounds were stunning. The wedding was outside so this place was a perfect place for that especially. If it rained, the accomodations inside would have been nice as well. I've seen the pictures of the wedding after and they came out so beautiful with the grounds in the background. After the ceremony, we went inside for hors' doeuvres and drinks. Everything flowed nicely and we didn't feel rushed at all. The food was hot and very tasty. The wait staff was pleasant as well. My daugher just got engaged so we went to La Mirage to reserve her wedding and reception and we met with the owner, Bud. He was a very nice gentleman and was very accomodating in helping my daughter and I plan her special day. I look forward to this fall when we have her wedding. I would recommend La Mirage to handle any event of mine anytime. more

Response to Review by Sweetcupcake 1/2/2011

We at La Mirage would like to offer the following response to the review by Sweetcupcake. The bride was much more than fifteen minutes late. The wedding party and guests arrived late for the ceremony and the wedding party took extra time for photos, causing dinner to start 1 hour and 15 minutes behind schedule. There was no delay in our service – our staff and food were ready to go on time and we were forced to wait for the wedding party. We started dinner without delay the moment the wedding toast was done. It takes approximately 1.5 hours to properly serve a five-course meal. We avoid rushing people or serving multiple courses at once. With the late start, this reception was short on time. It is not our policy to extend a reception on the day of the event, however, we offered to as a courtesy to the families. We quoted the bride $634 to cover one hour of occupancy, open bar, tax and service. That’s only $6.34 per person for a full hour of open bar. We want everyone to have a wonderful wedding and we understand that sometimes things don’t run according to schedule. We pride ourselves on our flexibility and responsiveness to unforeseen situations. However, there are expenses involved with extending a reception and we cannot provide these services free of charge. We are sorry that the bride was unhappy, but we believe that we did everything we possibly could to help the bride out of the difficult situation the delays had created. more

Rude Owner 9/30/2010

At first everything seem okay and nice. We asked to do the ceremony in the garden and gave the owner a time of arrival. We were a little late so it started late. I had told him in the beginning that the first dance I wanted it to be after food was served. So the owner agreed well guess what the food came out late 2 hours before the wedding was almost over and then he rushed everything. The cutting of the cake and the first dance and told me we only had 30mins left. I told him why if he serve our food late the guest havent been able to get up and dance or anything. He didnt care he said it was our fault and i said how is that if we only started 15mins late and u bought out the food 3 hours later. Our reception was for only 5 hours. Then he was telling my dj that he better turn off the music because everyone had to be out the door by 10:45 when it should have been 11:00 and because the food came out so late he should have let us stay one more hour without a bar aleas, so the guest can enjoy themself. i spent almost 8,000 and the owner couldnt even treat us right. I am so mad i did my wedding here. I will not recommed anyone this place. Then he told me if i wanted one more hour he was gonna charge be 800.00 is he out of his mind. Im telling you their prices are more affordable then most places but the way they treat you is wrong. The food is nasty by the way my guest complain about the food. more

Above and Beyond 3/5/2010

My best friend had her wedding reception at La mirage. The ceremony was about to take place in the garden outside. It rained and rained and rained. The guests had all gathered inside and Cas thought we were going to have the ceremony in the reception hall when it suddenly stopped raining. Bud (the manager) told us he could have the outside garden ready in just a few minutes if Cas still wanted to have an outside ceremony. She did. The staff was able to turn a disaster of a wedding day back into a dream wedding day and for that I am sincerely thankful. Pros: Great staff and service more

Lovely 1/25/2010

My son and daughter in law just had their wedding at La Mirage. I can't say enough good things about how wonderful the entire event was and how everyone enjoyed the wedding. Attention was paid to every detail and they were accomodating to all our needs. The food was exceptional for a banquet. I received many calls the next day from guests raving about the food. This is definitely a four star facility. Thanks to everyone at La Mirage. Pros: Beautiful gardens, great food, value more

Rude-Obnoxious 1/24/2009

When we first arrived and went into the courtyard, we were very impressed with the setup. The yard was beautifully decorated with flowers and fountains and the grass was a perfect green. \r \r However, unfortunately that is where it stopped. When we got inside, we went to the Hors d?Oeuvres table where they had a veggie platter and small pastry Hors d?Oeuvres. The pastries tasted like baked dough and had no flavor whatsoever. The room it was held in looked like it had not been redecorated since 1960.\r \r We quickly ran out of Hor d?Oeuvres, the staff was slow to replenish them, and when they came out, they were barely warm. As we went to bar to get drinks, we stood in a line for a few minutes, which was not that bad because it was everybody?s first drink. The worst part was the glasses they served them in. The glasses had to be about 8 ounces (without ice) so we just got our drinks and got to the back of the line.\r \r The wedding went well and the D.J. was fun but when we went to dance, we would find our drinks gone when we got back to our table. Our dinner was OK. The prime rib was good but it was a little small and the desert was a scoop of ice cream, big deal! \r \r When the wedding was over it was as if a bell went off. The owner was walking around practically shoving everyone out the door. My mom who was in a wheelchair told me when I was in the bathroom the owner made a comment to her, come on what are you doing, waiting for the next wedding? That really ticked me off as could expect.\r \r My friend and his bride told me they paid about $12,000 for about 130 people or so, what a disappointment.\r \r Do not consider this place! Obnoxious- you don?t get you moneys worth! Pros: Nice garden for wedding Cons: Tiny drinks, small portions, management rude more
