Best

I had been training in krav for about a year when two men held me up at gunpint. I disarmed them and fought and save my life. The krav techniques work very well in real life.

Listen to these negative reviews. They are TRUE. This place is a Mcdojo and will try and get every penny they can from you. It is unbelievable. Look for another place to do Krav. #contractofdeath #nolove more

Editorial review from Citysearch 9/10/2013

Do NOT get involved with these people. Their unprofessional approach to training, the contract, and the attitude in general is unbelievable. \r \r I was trained in Uchuno Shorin-Ryu for 7 years...a very respected Japanese martial art. I was inducted into the USMAA hall of fame for my proficiency in competitive sparring, and I was an assistant instructor...very proficient in both competitive sparring and self-defense. When I began my training at Krav Maga (after mistakenly signing a 1 year contract, more on that later) I was told that my stance was wrong, my technique for striking was wrong, and my approach to self-defense technique was wrong. \r \r This is glorified cardio/cross training. They charge an exorbitant amount for poor training, and do not teach basic elements of martial arts. Instead, they teach a brand of martial arts based on brutal thuggery, instead of the respect, history, and self-control that comes with REAL martial arts. \r \r These guys are certified to teach for some reason, but in my opinion are not qualified to do so. There is no respect for other martial art backgrounds, and most of the other students are rude, selfish, and ill-equipped to deal with real life situations. \r \r Finally, the billing issue. \r \r I attempted to sever my relationship with the institution after my full year of the contract was up. I paid for these months even though I had no intention of ever going back after six months of training. They managed to finagle 4 additional months of fees, $109 per month, a total of $436, due to ridiculous minor stipulations in their contract about ""30 day processing periods"" and a myriad of other nonsensical contract speak designed to get as much money out of you as possible. Worst purchase I have ever made, and 100% not worth the trouble. \r \r If you want to be charged $1300 dollars for a year of being yelled at by meat head gym rats who have little real martial arts experience, then look no firther!\r \r If you're just looking to get in shape, get a membership to planet fitness for a tenth of the price and stay away from these people. You will regret it, and your bank account will as well. more

Rude staff. 11/3/2007

I signed in for the intro class that I had signed up for & the receptionist told me to have a seat and that the class would be starting in a few minutes, pointing out the room that the class would be held in. I went to the restroom (quickly) and came back, sat patiently, & waited for the class to begin. She eventually started vacuuming the room she had pointed out, looking at me when she walked by but not saying anything. At this point, I'm wondering what is going on, but there was nobody in the room and the other room had a fitness class in it when she had showed me around. After a half hour of waiting, I finally went up to her & asked her what was going on & she told me that the class was being held in the other room, & that it had been announced. I just walked out of there- I am appalled at how this had played out. There were SEVEN people who APPEARED to be instructors (I know at least one of them was an instructor because he was teaching a class that I observed on Monday) standing around in the foyer while I was sitting there and she clearly saw me and walked by. Why did NOBODY say anything or at least introduce themselves? Beyond that, I get absolutely no apology about the mistake? I have no problem with the fact that the room had been switched, but she knew I was there for the intro lesson and it should have been pretty apparent to the instructors standing there... I was dressed in gym clothing, looked lost/like I was waiting and had never been there before, and was the only person there. \r \r I helped out with reception/instructing at two martial arts gyms that I went to before I moved and an instructor would NEVER have ignored a new person. Actually, at both schools if an instructor saw someone waiting while a class was being run, he might just have a student take over for a minute while he at least introduced himself. And *I* was expected to IMMEDIATELY greet someone and help them out. I was very disappointed in this school's staff and I won't be going back. more
