Best

I love Koriente....you can have a really tasty meal that is also healthy . I have tried numerous dishes on their menu and loved each one.

I'm all for local businesses to sprout up in bad neighborhoods - like across from the homeless shelter like this one is - but I have no patience for poor tasting food. If I am pay...

Does not worth the money 10/2/2006

I had dinner with a couple of my friends there last week. The environment is very nice and the owner is also friendly. However, the food does not taste that good. Compared with Korean Garden, it think this restaurant's food is below average. more

Must try! 9/6/2006

I discovered Koriente about two months ago and I am hooked. \r The food is impeccable: tasty, healthy, and innovative. \r The service is fast and the owners (a couple), very friendly. \r Great ambiance! Stylish. Clean. Comfortable. \r \r I cannot recommend this place enough...\r \r Enjoy! \r \r \r \r \r \r \r more

AWSOME FOOD, CHEAP PRICES, FRESH FOOD 8/21/2006

This little tea house was awsome. I loved it, everything about it was great. the prices were cheap, the food was fresh and filling. Great portions, clean and neat place to enjoy yourself. Pros: FOOD & TEA then the cheap prices Cons: Limited Parking more

My new favorite restaurant in town 6/21/2006

Healthy and yummie food, original decoration, good prices, very nice staff. Be sure to try the salmon salad, but order it with seaweed. As I was told, it's an experiment. I hope they make it permanent. You use the seaweed as if it was a tortilla and you would prepare a taco. You serve the avocado, tomato, cabage, salmon, cucumber and red pepper on the seaweed. Then top it with turnip imersed in a soy sauce and wasabi mix, roll it, and enjoy. It's heaven on Earth. Pros: food, staff, parking Cons: pay-before-you-eat more

koriente is one of my lunchtime favorites 4/20/2006

The decoration in Koriente is the very original. A giant Barbie-like doll greets visitors at the door with a sign that says ""Tea tea?"", drawing attention to their large selection of teas. The side wall is covered by an abstracted painting of John Lennon with Yoko Ono, and outside, there are beautiful flowerbeds which the owners have gone to great effort to maintain. The quirky decorating isn't what bring me back each week, it's actually the food! Koriente has some typical Korean dishes like Bulgogi and BiBimBap, but sets itself apart with dishes like the Chicken with Tomatoes/Mushrooms or the Kalbi Pot Roast (which is a great comfort food). I love their vegetarian selection and focus on natural foods without MSG and with minimal oil, sugar and salt. They also deliver, but I prefer to eat there since the nice people working there always brighten my day! Pros: delicious food, ambience, nice people Cons: not open at 3AM more

Consistent quality and great taste 11/15/2005

Koriente makes delicious dishes, with teh flavor consistent across several visits. They provide samples for people who are nusure what to eat. The Kalbi Potroast is to die for. Very high quality hot teas. Prices have gone up a bit since they opened. However, the quantity seems to have gone up a bit too. Very friendly and courteous staff. Parking is easy too! Pros: Flavor, Quick service, Good parking more

I can't name another restaurant that offers tasty, healthy, on-the-go meals for a reasonable price. Besides the fact that there's free parking, Koriente offers a variety foods to satisfy all of your different taste buds. I went to Koriente after a long, grueling day at work to pick up something quick and fast. I didn't have to go through finding a parking spot, and i was out of the restaurant in less 5 minutes, and it still tasted good! Definitely recommended, even if you're not on the go and you want to appreciate the garden scenery. more

Yum! 10/6/2005

I can't rave enough about the delicious food, amazing service, and overall experience at Koriente. I was getting take-out and couldn't decide what to get so they brought me 3 good-sized samples. I ended up getting the Bulgogi & Veggies (beef & veggies w/rice) which was out of this world! They say this place is great for vegetarians but the meat is to die for. Pros: Free Delivery, Free Samples, Delicious more

Greatness 8/12/2005

I ordered the Ka-re last week for dinner and it was phenomenal. Im not vegan, but I would be if I could eat this at every meal. Im excited to go back and try their other items. The service was also outstanding even though this is a seat-yourself, order-at-the counter restaurant. My friend was on the phone and they bought a cover to keep his food warm as well as a few other things that weren't requested. I will be a repeat customer. Pros: Free Parking, Inexpensive, Great Service Cons: Limited menu more

great new find! 7/21/2005

the restaurant is very nicely situated on 7th street next to a lovely garden that is maintained by the restaurant's owners. The food was excellent. Some nice surprises in their combination of flavors and textures. The staff was very friendly! It seems like a great place to grab a healthy, delicious lunch on the go if you work in the downtown area. more

Exactly what downtown Austin needs 7/17/2005

I've been watching the flowerbeds that started springing up early spring and was amazed at the ongoing changes in the area. Went to try their food last week and I've gotta say I fell in love. You can see a lot of money and thought went into the restaurant just by walking in the door. I tried the Kalbi Potroast and the Summer Rolls, the guy at the register was really cordial and was eager to help me. Everything is supposed to be healthy and well balanced, works for me. The potroast seemed more like a stew than a potroast but whatever it may be, it was the best tasting potroast I've ever had, same goes for the summer rolls. I'm usually wary of vegan anything, but if every vegan item tasted like those things I'd happily go vegan starting tommorrow. But today.. more potroast. VERY highly recommended. Pros: Limited free parking, Delivery, Fast Service Cons: Limited Menu more

yum 7/16/2005

The Apple Braised Pork is amazing. The apples give the entire dish an incredible flavor. My roomate that ate with me had the Tomato, Mushroom, Chicken and loved it. She like the whole tomatos that they used, and I think there were 2 types of mushrooms in it. I give them mad props for creating and maintaing the garden outside too. Pros: bike rack, open till 3am, near 6th st. more
