Classic Rock staples 4/6/2006

In my opinion, this is the "soft" classic rock station. They rely on favorites from may classic rock bands and this can be both a good and bad thing. Good, because really, it's great to hear heart's "Barracuda" once a day. Bad, because that will be the same song you hear over and over again. Check out 102.5 you Floyd, Zeppelin, Stones fans to hear a little more variety from the bands you love. more

KJR FM Rocks My Socks Off! 4/6/2006

Here ye, here ye: Listening to FM Radio in your car is SO February 2006. It's April and now that I have a CD player I'm totally over it. I wasn't always so lucky as to have a midsized, adult oriented car. As a previous owner of a full sized, elderly oriented vehicle I have plenty of experience with what the Seattle Radio world has to offer. When all is said and done, I whole heartedly insist that KJR (95.7) is your best bet. While KEXP is sooo cool to like (and genuinely pretty good) sometimes you want to - nay need to - sing. Warm 106.9 almost promises to play Phil Collins at least once an hour and 93.3 makes me feel at home in the ghet-to, but KJR just plays really, really good songs. Case and point, I just visited their website and some of the last ten songs they played included: Heart, Doobie Brothers, Billy Joel, Genesis (Take that 106.9! I don't need you!), John Mellencamp, Van Halen, and Hall & Oates. I mean...really. more
