Best

I had my brazilian blowout at Kinara by stylist TAKUJI, He was well trained for brazilian blowout. very gentle and feel my hair absorbing nutrition. he also cut my hair. thank...

Worst

I only name name's when someone does a good job. So I will say, that my facialist, who is highly respected, was nothing special. The extractions were brutal, and I had a few ma...

not that great 2/23/2006

After months of searching, I finally got a referal to this great spa which, in my opinion isn't all that great. The surroundings are nice, the staff seem OK but I definately expectied better. I came in for a basic facial which was BASIC.... they didn't get my face as clean as I would have lliked, and the estitican wasn't all that nice........ she said she was going to really clean my face but didn't. And it was a bit painful. Minimal extractions and so-so cleanning. I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting BLISS!!! Where they really clean your face and you leave there feeling brand new. more

Rude Service 11/14/2005

It had been a while since I had a massage, so I thought I'd try out a new place - BIG mistake! The receptionist was rude. No "thank you," "hello" or "goodbye." Major attitude! Music was loud mix...did not feel relaxed at all. Amenities are very minimal. Won't go back. When I handed them my credit card, I wished I would've gone somewhere else. Cons: Rude Service, Minimal Amenities more

where does the "spa" part come in??? 8/10/2005

I had a great massage here but I don't understand why they call it a spa. When I asked about the this, I was told the shower turns into a steam....uhhh, okay. If you're expecting some luxurious facility with many amenities, like I was, then don't go here. Besides the great massage I liked that they play real (indie) music instead of Enya, whales or oceans...enough with that already. Pros: massage, music Cons: no spa amenities more

The best massage I've ever had 3/15/2005

I cannot rate the facial/spa portion of Kinara because I don't use those services. But this was far and away the best massage I've ever had in my life. I left feeling completely relaxed and tingling. Heaven. If I could afford to get a weekly massage, there's no question Kinara is the place. On top of that, they have a great zen atmosphere. It's not too new agey and it's not too sex and the city hip. It's just relaxing and smells great. And their affiliation with Joachim Splichal adds great food into the mis. more

Hydrotherapy 2/9/2005

Hydrotherapy. Not as good as I thought it would be. The advertisement said there were 128 massagers and a wand to control massage use. There were more like 8 massagers and no wand. Did not compare well to other spas I've been to. Did not have a shower or bathroom amendities like lotion. Cons: Pay for Parking more

little jewel 3/11/2004

Finally a boutique spa that pleases even my jaded New York friends! I was so tired of bringing out of town guests to the obvious corporate spas with their cliched treatments. Kinara is a little jewel! I went recently with two friends and after three treamnets each, we didnt want to leave. The bora bora scrub feels and smells fabulous. I swear they got rid of callouses I have had since high school. And the Kinara space is hip and sophisticated without being intimidating. Plus the cafe is so tasty. Try the hot chocolate - it is like drinking a melted candy bar. It is fun to go to the cafe patio in between treatments and have your snacks under the sun in your spa robe! Pros: unique treatments, hip atmosphere, great snacks Cons: , too far from my house more

Disorgnaized Hosts 9/4/2003

The treatments at Kinara are very nice (particularly the massage, and salt scrub) as was the decor; however, service was somewhat disorganized. After finishing treatments, I was asked what was scheduled next as opposed to the host knowing what was scheduled next. I would expect better organized hosts. But the lunch from the cafe was excellent. Pros: treatments, decor, food Cons: disorganzied service more
