People either love it or hate it. The menu consists of three items: shrimp with noodles, shrimp with rice or just a basic shrimp dish with bread to dip in the sauce. Unless you en...

The Real Deal 9/15/2010

Back when I lived in Marina Del Rey this was the spot for some great shrimp, west of the Gulf Coast. I do miss it. And one of these days when I'm not broke, I will road trip for this. If you are ever in the neighborhood, you have to stop in. more

Where oh where did my killer Shrimp go? 12/11/2008

I am super duper upset, I need my Killer Shrimp fix. Nothing can compare. I had to have a seat when I got upstairs and found Aunt Kizzy's. I was in shock. Is there anything I can do to help Killer come back, we need it. Wowww!!! Pros: None like it Cons: Closed too early more

Where is Killer Shrimp! My craving wont go away... 11/15/2008

I love Killer Shrimp..the sauce is so tasty. Since the dish is so huge, I always brought home left over. I would have killer shrimp with my breakfast, lunch and dinner. I was so upset to find Killer Shrimp in Studio City closed. So, I decided to make a trip to the marina's until another friend of mine, who's also a fan of Killer Shrimp, mention it was closed. Where can I find killer shrimp? There is no other dish like Killer Shrimp.....Is there a recipe? Help I can't stop thinkin of Killer Shrimp.... Pros: Very tasty Cons: spicey....sometimes need the tums...but worth it more

Lee Michaels!!! 11/3/2008

Lee Michaels I hear started this chain of Restaurants! I haven't ate there but definitely will next visit to LA. I'll expect a delicious dinner and pray I get to meet Mr. Michaels and thank him for some of the greatest music in the world ever produced. The saddest part was when he stopped. First I read he was sick of the Music business and retired in Hawaii, now I hear hes in LA running Killer Shrimp? more

Best Shrimp soup and bread!! 10/23/2008

I used to make a minimum of one visit per month to one of the Killer shrimp place, more commonly to the Marina Del Rey location, my favorite version, the orginal soup style! I changed jobs and i have been away for 6-7 months and I finally get to go out there last weekend and it was a shock to find out that both places have closed! more

amazing! 9/2/2008

i love killer shrimp! theee best. first time i went was at the one in studio city, i was sad when i found out they shut it down. that won't stop us from getting our hands on some killer shrimp, marina del rey is where we go. our favorite part of the meal is dipping the bread into their delicious sauce! more

Come back SOoooon Please.......... 7/29/2008

I've went to ""Michael's"" place since he opened. My favorite spot was the one in Stuio City where I first met him. He is just as missed as his grandmothers receipes & the famously known ""Killer Shrimp"". Don't stay away for long, you've got alot of fans waiting for your re-open! I usually go every year for my birthday , but this year when I heard your last day was June 29th. I went on my b-day and the next day and bought extra and froze it!!! But they weren't serving your great peacan pie.........:( Miss Ya Much Raquel Sheldon Pros: everything they serve Cons: they're not open more

Coming back soon! Can't wait! Check out the new phone number for details. 7/24/2008

For those of you mourning the loss, give them a call! They are ""in the works"" for a new location right now and plan to announce it shortly. They also have a new number - 310-452-3536. You can call and leave your number and they will call you when they can announce the new location. Pros: Delicious, unique experience. And a good place to judge your fellow diner's character - always interesting to see how people fare when forced to dig hands-first into a steaming brothy bowl of seafood. Cons: I mean, you're here for the shrimp and only for the shrimp (that counts the sauce). Everything else is just fine and that's all it needs to be. more

No more Killer Shrimp!?!?!?!?!? 7/19/2008

This has been my family's favorite shrimp for over 15 years. Is this the sign of the times with the economy? Best shrimp in the city. We live in the harbor area and have driven to the Marina many times for Killer shrimp. Just can't get over them being gone. Gonna try the recipe at home now...... more

WHAT HAPPENED!? 7/17/2008

Pros: GOOD FOOD Cons: VERY DARK more

too dark, unable to read bill...mediocre customer service 4/6/2008

I was disappointed by the lighting and minimalistic decor.....the shrimp and rice were not properly warmed. It seemed as if the cold rice was spread on the plate and then the shrimp and sauce were poured over the rice......could barely read the bill due the dim lighting which seemed to flicker from time to time over the hour I was at the restaurant. Waitress failed to check back to see if we needed anything further until she delivered the bill. I will not recommend or turn to this establishment more

Love the shrimp 7/21/2007

We love Killer Shrimp. We live in the neighborhood and whenever we have guests it is one of the first places we think of to take them. We are never disappointed. more

wow, what happened to this place? 4/29/2007

I had been here a couple times before, and also to the location in Studio City. My friends and I came here on a Sunday night at my suggestion, and we were starving. I have to say, it had been a few years since I'd had the killer shrimp and I was looking forward to it. But my friends and I were pretty disappointed, mostly because the broth was flat and flavorless. Maybe it was an off night. But if you have three variations of one item on the menu, you should make sure it's up to par. At least it was still spicy. Pros: Quick seating Cons: Shrimp not as killer as it used to be more

The best! 3/9/2007

It is exactly 88.7 miles from my house to Killer Shrimp, and I make it a point to eat there several times a year. Do I really need to say more? Pros: Shrimp, Sauce, Simplicity Cons: You had better like shrimp, and a spicy cajun sauce... more

A beautiful new restaurant with a new extensive menu located right on the water in Marina del Rey

Owner Message
  • We have newly expanded into a larger space in Marina del Rey surrounded with breathtaking views. Located right on the water, we offer a full bar to accommodate it's huge following and a new expansive menu. Still family-run, we have the same family recipes including their signature dish which is served alone in a spicy broth with bread or served on top of rice or angel hair pasta. There are also new additions to the menu. Whether you are looking for a filet mignon or a lobster mac n cheese, you won't be disappointed. In addition, the new spacious bar has eight flat-screen televisions and a full range of drink choices. LA drink mixologist Marcos Tello has come up with new drinks with juices made from fresh fruit and vegetables and house made simple syrups. No drink costs more than $10.
