A great daycare! 4/19/2009

Kidz Quarterz was recommended to us by a friend and co-worker who had his daughter there from a baby until she went to school. Having a good recommendation from a friend made the decision to choose KQ easier but did not make leaving our babies in a ""stranger's"" hands any easier. The teachers and staff are wonderful and show a sincere interest in the children they help care for. The share our excitement when our girls did something or learned something for the first time. Additionally, the center is clean and the toys the children play with (and sometime chew on unfortunately) are washed frequently. We would recommend KQ to our friends. Pros: Caring staff....clean facility Cons: You have to leave your children and go to work. more

A home away from home 4/14/2009

I felt compelled to tell the world about the last one year and 2 months I have spent with Kidz Quarterz child care center. When my baby girl was born, I, like most new moms, wasn't sure that I would ever be able to hand my precious gift over to strangers for an hour, let alone a full work day. I reluctantly acknowledged the reality that the time would come when I would have to face the day that we would choose a daycare and leave my angel with... oh man... who knows!!!!\r \r Like every ""good mommy"", I called every center within a 10 mile radius of our home and visited many. KQ just had a special feel to it. When I met the director, Jen, I felt like I was talking to one of my good friends. She took a special interest in my daughter that made me know I was home. Our choice was made and off we went, the dreaded FIRST DAY was here! The teachers and staff made the hardest day of my life a little bit easier. They asked me everything that I wanted done with my baby. They did it MY way, not their way. I could see that they felt my tears and they still smile when we talk about that day. They consistently reinforced that they were not there to replace me, but to help me. And it was true. They opened their arms and the center any time I needed them. I spent my lunches with the teachers and my baby girl every day for a year and never once felt unwelcome or like an intruder. I can truly say that I would call all of the staff my friends. They take pride in the accomplishments of my baby girl. (What more could you really ask???) They encourage my involvement and we laugh at my spastic Mommy moments together!\r \r As times have changed and the economy has spiraled downward, the cost of daycare has become more trying, but as a true testament to the quality of care our daughter receives... the expense of Kidz Quarterz will not be cut in our family. As employees of a system that provides lower cost daycare, we will continue to be loyal to KQ. Not only for our own peace of mind, but because we wouldn't leave the family that we have built there. The family that loves our daughter like she is their own.\r Pros: Carins staff, education initiative, constant support Cons: No grassy area more

Quality Child Care! 4/14/2009

If you are looking for quality child car, Kidz Quarterz is the day care for you. I have two daughters enrolled at Kidz Quarterz. The key factors for me were safety, my daughters' progression, and their willingness to go to day care. Kidz Quarterz has met and excited each of these factors. I have recommended Kidz Quartez to several friends whom have enrolled their children and share the same feelings. It's tough to leave your children in the care of others, Kidz Quarterz has made the transition easier on our family. Pros: safety, convenience, staff Cons: drop off parking more

School Atmosphere with Family Feel 4/9/2009

My daughter has been attending Kidz Quarterz for almost 2 years (she's 2). Our story is not uncommon. First she went to a daycare that was abysmal (diaper rash constently, poor communication, no structure). Then, we found Kidz Quarterz in Camp Hill. Now, I have no anxiety about leaving her in someone else's care. The staff clearly love children and everything is so well organized. It is amazing to see how they get all the kids quickly and effeciently to nap! What I really want to express, however, is the level of education I believe my child is receiving. Another post stated that the price was too high for a staff that wasn't degree certified. But my daughter is doing things and saying things I never would have thought she was ready for at 2, and I know it is thanks to kidz quarterz staff. The other day, my two year old pointed out the window of our car and said, Look mommy an Octagon. I was amazed because even though I knew she was learning shapes, colors, letter recognition, and fun songs, I never would have expected her to make such connections and I wouldn't have thought she was ready to learn all that Kidz Quarterz staff have taught her. Her please and thank yous, her folding her hands before eating, using a cup, and potty training are all things that the staff work on the kids with daily. These children don't run around in a free for all. The facility is great! It is super clean, everyone is respectful and my two year old can not only tell you all the other kids names, but who each of the teachers are and who the parents are. It is amazing what a family type atmosphere in a school type setting Kidz Quarterz has created. It is gutwrenching to leave your child in someone else's care, but I am glad I have Kidz Quarterz and the staff there. I trust them completely! Pros: educational, enthusiastic, convenient more

Really surprised 4/8/2009

I feel compelled to write a review after reading some of these horrible things that have been said. I am frankly shocked! I've had nothing but good experiences at KQ since I enrolled my son back in Sept of 2006. I now have 2 sons at the center and am thrilled with the new location! Both of them LOVE KQ!! My 2 year old is so much more advanced than other kids his age and I attribute much of that to KQ. His vocabulary is amazing! My 8 month old loves his KQ friends and always has huge smiles when he's at the center. I am able to walk to the center on my lunch break and visit with my boys and chat with the teachers. \r \r I admit I had reservations about day cares before I chose KQ and left one local center horrified after a tour, but I couldn't be happier with KQ. I have great rapports with my sons' teachers which I think is paramount no matter where you send your child for day care. \r \r I'd definitely recommend KQ! Pros: great staff, structured classrooms, fun activities Cons: detached playground more

A child care facility AND a place for children to LEARN! 4/7/2009

I absolutley LOVE Kidz Quarterz and highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. My son has been enrolled at the Camp Hill location since January 2007 and loves it. The staff and management are exceptional and take great care of the kids. I was amazed at how much my son learned in only ONE WEEK when he started, not to mention the past 2+ years. Kidz Quarterz is not only a daycare, but a place where children not only get to play and make friends, but get to learn along the way to prepare them for Kindergarten. Their ""Summer Camp"" is filled with lots of fun activities and events. Just take a tour of the facility and see for yourself all the wonderful artwork the children have made that is displayed in the rooms! I have many days where my son doesn't want to go home when I come to pick him up! The place is always clean and in order and the staff is always very friendly. If your child isn't enrolled yet, they should be! ~Marissa S. Pros: Clean facility; friendly staff; great learning curriculum Cons: None that I have experienced more

Great Care 4/1/2009

My children have been atttending KQ since 2004. My husband and I have enjoyed the staff and have always felt welcome. Our children love going to ""school."" They come home excited to share their day and they only have positive comments about their teachers. The classrooms are large and colorful and the center provides extracurricular activities throughout the year. I would highly recommend KQ to any parent. The new Camp Hill location has proved to be a lot more convenient than the former Lemoyne location. Pros: secure building and large classrooms Cons: detached playground, but very nice more

never again 3/5/2009

I enrolled my child at kidz quarterz under referral from a friend who was thrilled with the care her child had years prior. I wanted my child to socialize with other children his age and gain an education to prepare him for school. I was completely disappointed with my experience with this school. I never knew who was watching my child from one day to the next. the turn over was outrageous. During my tour, I was told that many of the staff were long term. I guess if they mean 3 months, that is long term to them. It seems if someone applies to work there, they are hired without regard to competence or education. My child was hardly in their own classroom. I was told that my child was ""bumped around"" to send teachers home and cut the budget. That seems hardly fair to confuse and shift my child in order to line the owner's pockets. I pulled my child out and have him with a family member now. i am very pleased to be done with this school. Pros: good first impression Cons: unprofessional staff, understaffed, more

Horrible Experience 2/28/2009

Good first impression, but the infant room did not provide much nurturing and there are some concerns with staff. Our daughter was generally not happy there. One morning when she was 16 months old I dropped her off as usual. She was fussy because of fighting an illness and because she didn't want to see me go. As usual, she left me and walked to staff before I left. Later that day I received a call from the center, asking me to pick her up because she was ""not herself."" I arrived and observed her screaming in pain. It turns out that she suffered a spiral fracture of her femur (thigh) bone, and was in a nearly full-body cast for 6 weeks. They were investigated for child abuse. When questioned by state, county and law enforcement authorities, they acknowledged that she was standing and walking up until she went on a ""buggy ride,"" but ""forgot"" who put her in the ride (their attorney was present for this interrogation). Now any other time a daycare would be able to tell you exact details like this. The authorities were very incompetent in their investigation - bottom line, if your child cannot tell you what happened to them, there isn't much the authorities are going to do to help you (i.e., Dept. of Public Welfare, County Youth Services, etc.). Thank God she's okay now - and better than ever. She loves her new daycare, and looks forward to going there. Be very cautious! Pros: Nice outdoor play areas Cons: Some unfriendly and condescending staff, fail to take responsibility for actions more

heartbreaking 8/25/2008

I decided to take my infant child to this day care after recommendations from my co-worker. There seemed to be a lot of yelling coming from the staff and not enough nurturing. I have been very disappointed. Pros: friendly first impression Cons: staff competency, qualifications of staff, training of discipline, chaos at pick up and drop off times more
