Kerry Park has ONE OF the Nicest Views of the Space Needle 7/6/2006

Kerry Park http://www.ci.seattle.wa.us/parks/parkspaces/kerry.htm is a runt of a park on Queen Anne that has a very nice view of downtown Seattle, including the Space Needle, Stadiums, and on a clear day, Mt. Rainier. For serious tourists it is one of the best places to have your picture taken. If I were shooting an independent film located in Seattle, I would have a scene or two here. But if you are a serious professional photographer, you will find this place most useful for the purpose of scouting out other places to take pictures, because some apartments and skyscrapers have a much better view of the city. If you're not attached to getting a good picture of the Downtown Seattle skyline from land, you might consider a cruise instead. That said, most will consider the view is breathtaking. more

A Beautiful Overlook 8/20/2005

This park, on Queen Anne Hill, offers stunning views of the downtown skyline. It's located up Queen Anne Avenue North about 3/4 of the way up the hill. (Turn left under the flashing yellow sign at Highland Avenue. The park is a block ahead). You will recognize the views from many Seattle postcards and tourist shots. During the summer, many afternoons you will not only see scads of tourists but quite a few wedding parties getting pictures taken here. Well worth the time. more

A great Sliver of a Park in Queen Anne 8/20/2005

Kerry Park is a favorite place to go after I finish shopping at Trader Joes down the street. I bring something to drink, sit down with a snack and enjoy the 180 degree view of Elliott Bay. The park space was donated by a family that wanted the public to enjoy it, and we should be glad that they did so. It's nestled amongst multi million dollar houses on West Prospect Street and has killer views of the Western part of the city, including the Space Needle. I take visitors here and no one yet has been disappointed. more

Kery Park 8/18/2005

Donated by Seattleites Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sperry Kerry Sr. in 1927, Kerry Park is 80 yards long and 30 yards wide, and sits high atop the south slope of Queen Anne Hill. The view is gorgeous: the Seattle skyline is perhaps more visible and more striking from Kerry Park than from any other spot. Surrounded by beautiful, historic Seattle homes, the park draws lovers and dog-lovers alike, as the park is equally romantic and family friendly. more

A Breathtaking View 8/16/2005

Even if you've never been to Kerry Park, if you've ever seen any TV show that features the city of Seattle, you're familiar with the view. Located on top of Queen Anne Hill, on a clear day you can see the Space Needle, Downtown, Mt. Rainier, the Olympic Mountains, and Puget Sound from this lookout point. A favorite for special occasions (like proms or weddings), it is easy to see why! more
