Sometimes, older is better 9/2/2002

Kennywood Park is over 100 years old. When you think of a theme park, you think of a twisting and turning upside-down twisted steel living hell. Although Kennywood does have one roller coaster like that, it contains more than a thousand ways to lose your lunch. Kennywood has old wooden roller coasters that are every bit just as fun as a modern steel one. I would recommend riding the Thunderbolt, Jackrabbit, and Racer when you go to Kennywood, or else there's just no reason to go. Also, don't leave the park without a heart helping of cheese fries from the Potato Patch, they are to die for! Pros: Great Food, Inexpensive, Fun for the Family Cons: Poor Directions, Not enough Steel more

My favorite for many years 8/29/2002

I used to live very close to Kennywood. I could listen to the music from our house. I have ridden on every roller coaster except the converted steel coaster. I also worked there in my teen years and have a lot of memories from Kennywood. Since moving to Tx. friends have kept me up to date. Pros: roller coasters, Parking, Safe for families Cons: too expensive now, No Dance Hall, not like the old days more

Kennywood..The best!! 8/19/2002

My husband is from the Pittsburgh area and I first went to Kennywood about ten years ago..I love it! It is always part of our summer vacation plans and our children have grown to love it as well. The park is immaculate, easy to make your way through, full of great games, food and most important, rides! The coasters are amazing and there truely is a ride for everyone! The value is incredible and you can usually pick up discount tickets from Giant Eagle grocery stores in the Pittsburgh area. ENJOY!! Pros: great prices, hours, winnable games!!, coasters and food!! Cons: location more

Awesome 8/19/2002

Personally, I've been to Kennywood MANY times. Hands down, it is one of the greats. I espeically like the older rides and the chance to remember the past. I highly recommend this park. It is worth the trip. more

Bargain of the Century 8/19/2002

Worth the trip from anywhere. A great combination of the best of the old and the most thrilling of the new rides. Pleasant park-like surroundings. Totally the opposite of super-plastic, bloodless Disney crap. Spend the whole day and still leave with plenty of money in your wallet. Truly something different -- a great part of America. ### Pros: Good food, Friendly staff Cons: A little hard to find, Overlooks Pittsburgh, Crowded parking more

excellant 8/15/2002

fantastic, very clean and spotless. best family park i've ever been to. Pros: roller coasters more

Kennywood is #1 8/13/2002

I think that Kennywood should be number 1. it is number 5 now, meaning it went up from during the school year when it was 6 and climbing.and i think it is nice to know to know that kennywood is the 5th best amusement park AND climbing and knowing that it's in PA and not somewhere cause pa doesn't get as much attention like them other states :) haha Kennywood is the best i love it more

Fun for everyone 8/12/2002

This amusement park has everything any family could want in a day of entertainment. There are rides, shows, and don't for get the famous Potatoe Patch fries!! Any age would enjoy themselves at Kennywood--from kiddie land for the little ones to roller coasters galore. Kennywood is a must for every family visiting the Pittsburgh area in the summer. Pros: free parking avail., lots of rides, not too expensive Cons: can be crowded, all must pay to enter more

It's convienently located about 15-20 mins outside of downtown and parking is free and plentiful. Reasonably priced and easy to find your way in the park. Pros: Inexpensive, wooden and steelrides, 10 mins from I-376 Cons: Traffic, Parking design more

Who killed Kenny! 8/7/2002

don't let the title mislead you, I love Kennywood and all of its rides. It has some good rollercoasters like the Phantom's Revenge. I do think it could have some more, bigger ones. The Pitfall is really cool and so are all the water rides. I like the Aero 360 and I think that overall the facilities are clean. They also have a good picnicing area if you can reserve a pavilion. It's a good place to take your kids, too, because they have a lot of kiddie rides. It is a little too crowded. Pros: all-day ride passes, good rides, long hours Cons: crowded, expensive food, not enough coasters more

thrilling 8/7/2002

this is a great place to go to for a family day out or even if you just need to have some great food. You will have fun here even if you can't ride the rides. There are great shows everywhere you turn and just the sight of everyone enjoying themselves will make this a great spot to visit. Pros: very enjoyable, fun all day, great food Cons: price, can be crowded more

Keeps bringing us back 8/7/2002

We are displaced Pittsburghers, currently living in New Jersey. Kennywood brings us back every year in August. It's like a pilgrimage. Our daughters are 13 and 16 and wouldn't survive the summer without a trip to America's true family park. Thanks for this opportunity to express our feelings about Kennywood. more

Fun in the Sun 8/7/2002

Going to Kennywood on a weekday or weekend is fun anytime, just make sure its a nice day! Dont forget to go to the Potato Patch! Pros: Tons of Parking, Good Food more

Kennywood Rocks 8/7/2002

After leaving the Pittsburgh area when I was just 4, I treasure the times that I get to come back to Kennywood and play. I love the atmosphere and the ambiance. I wish that we had something of Kennywood's caliber in Arizona. more
