Horrible, horrible experience with these people. Deplorable customer service. Was in an accident which required body work. Insurance company had Kempsville Body Shop listed as one of their 'select service' shops. I chose them because they were 'the little guy' and not a dealership or franchise. Big mistake. I had to call every time to see how work on car was progressing. Was told five different dates that it would be ready. They never called me. I would call in on the date they said it would be done, they'd tell me no it wouldn't be ready that day, it would be ready (fill in the day). Each time, they told me they'd call me to tell me how things were going. I never received a call. Finally, three weeks after they got the car, I call to see what time it would be ready (again....). I'm told that only one more thing needed to be done and it should be ready that afternoon, but the car isn't starting....They've had problems getting it started and keeping it running the whole time they've had it. I asked if it could be related to the accident, as it's NEVER happened before. They tell me they don't know, they haven't got the equipment to test it, I should have it towed because it's not safe to drive, they even recommend a car electric shop to take it to. Instead, I decided to tow it to a dealership for the make of my car so they can check everything if necessary rather than just electric. You know what? The body shop didn't properly reconnect the battery. There is NOTHING wrong with the vehicle. I pay my almost $200 for tow and diagnostic and head to the body shop to request reimbursement for my unnecessary expense due to their error. They flat out refused, saying it could have been the tow company or the dealership. How is that even possible if it only happened at their shop? Never before, and never after. I was then told I was being nasty for even asking that they pay for something they don't know they caused.\r
Completely unacceptable customer service from start to finish. No phone calls from them about progress on vehicle. Repeatedly told car would be ready and wasn't. Three weeks in shop and not advised there was an issue with starting the car or keeping it running. Advised it was unsafe to drive and I incurred an almost $200 out of pocket expense due to their ineptitude. Then being told I was 'nasty' for requesting reimbursement for their error? Stay away from them. Far, far away.
