Respect and politeness for all? OK. My three year old was sent off the mat to watch the class after being asked if he wanted to use his brain because he was not quite understanding the direction that the instructor was giving. Not knowing what a brain was, he took a guess and said ""No"". I will leave it at that and not go into the insanity that insued after that. \r

I will say this though...there is little or not respect what-so-ever for parents and their ability to raise their children without the help of the school. All I heard was how keeping my son in that school would make me a proud parent and how they would mold him into an amazing person. HELLO! My husband and I can, will and are raising my son just fine and we will be proud of who he becomes due to our influence. I wasn't looking for someone to raise my child or tell me how to raise my child.\r

As far as the ""book"" goes, we were forced to buy it and quite frankly, I had a very hard time gettig through any of it considering it is mostly written in all caps and as a professional, I am a little offended by that since in a professional setting, all caps is interpreted as yelling.\r

Look, my original post was not meant to insult the school. It was meant to let others who know nothing about martial arts know a little more before joining. And yes, it is cultish in that the first thing that is done in most cults is to change a person's name. Also, in a cult, there is a figurehead who can do no wrong and no one questions and all follow blindly without coming to their own opinions on all subjects. That is what I experienced and saw. So yea...sorry, but that is the impression I left with. My opinion....my right to give.
