K W Mechanical 8/2/2011

I was pleasantly suprised by the service, having read the other bad reviews. The installer, Sean had me concerned that his GPS could not find the address, but we figured it out. He was at the house as promised with all the required hardware and equipment and did an excellent job and cleaned up after. When I mentioned the web reviews, his comment was to remember the Lowes,Home Depot, Sears salesman is out for the sale NOT the service. Ask questions at the store to avoid suprises at the installation. KW Mechanical's goal is to pass inspection, not take advantage of you. more

Bad experience 2/25/2011

After purchasing a water softener from Sears, KW Mechanical was sent to install it in my home, by Sears. It was installed in the root cellar. After four months use, and the first freeze of the year, the drain line froze and cause over a foot of water to be drained into my cellar. Dealing with Sears for over 3 months (three technician visits and one more KW visit) it is decided that I should put a 50 gallon trash can in the cellar and use a sub-pump and a water hose to manually drain the water out into one of my bathrooms during the winter months. This is set up for me by Sears. I am now told that if I want to move the unit it will be another charge to me for the installation. WHAT!!! If it had been told to me the first time KW came out that the location was wrong (they told me the second time they came to the house) I would not have put it there to begin with. It seems that I am the unreasonable one for wanting to have it moved...no one feels that this installation has any problem and I should learn to deal with it. more

Rip Off Estimates vs. Home Depot/Lowes prices 3/31/2010

I thought it was great that I got phone call from the plumbing company very quickly after I ordered my water heater from Home Depot. The KW plumbers came in and saw that my water heater needed a powered vent. The cost for that type of water heater was of course almost 1.5x regular heater and the installation service required was also $100+ higher. Then there was an additional $135 charge for re-piping the water lines and the flue which isn't part of the regular installation and then there was the $176 to replace the expansion tank (which only costs $39 if you buy it yourself). The total bill: $1452... Far from the price they quoted at $868 while I was in Home Depot ($564 heater + $269 installation + $35 permit) Pros: Quick Response time more

Very professional 8/27/2009

I have used KW Mechanical for several years for my rental properties. They are always prompt, courteous, and very professional. Not only will I continue to use them, but I refer friends/associates to them constantly. more

Had a great experience! 8/27/2009

KW upgraded the electric and renovated a bathroom in my 120 year old home. They were professional and very easy to deal with. I would definitely call them again. more

Avoid! 7/5/2009

Avoid them. They did the electrical, plumbing and HVAC on my renovation and all of it was substandard, shoddy work and had to be redone. Cons: Shoddy Workmanship more
