My oil change took over two and a half hours. I was pretty upset that it took that long for a simple oil change.

Amazing service! I had my car towed to John's Automotive one evening and was able to leave it there until they opened in the morning. It's super close to San Diego State, making the transportation really easy for me. They were already done fixing my car before the workday was over. Within a few minutes of opening they had already figured out the problem with the car and were able to do all the necessary procedures to fix it quickly. I was super impressed with their service, especially because they periodically called me throughout the day to update me on the cost and progress. All of the interactions were done over the phone and they were extremely efficient about it including allowing my boyfriend to pay over the phone while he was out of state. It wasn't even my car but I completely trust them to work on any car I may need help with later. My first time using them and definitely not my last! more

Super service at a reasonable cost 1/3/2012

Want to thank Brian and John for the great service in getting my transmission replaced. They were ready with suggestions and alternatives and made a difficult situation both manageable and acceptable. Many thanks guys! more

Superb Service 1/1/2012

Joseph provided professional service over the phone. Arranged a pre-purchase inspection with a car dealership down the street. I never stepped one foot in the shop but I had full trust in Joseph and John's Automotive Care. Joseph faxed a thorough report and I purchased the car the next day. 2010 Chevy 30k mile maintenance check 12/27/2011

Even being busy, our Chevy was treated kindly. Oil change, tire rotation, brake check, cabin filters replaced- all completed timely and good job. Great staff- I recommend them to all I meet. more

How much time? 12/21/2011

I had four new tires put on and an oil change last Friday. Joseph said they would try to have it done in the early afternoon, but it was 4:30pm when it was finished. I dropped it off @ 7:30am, and was thinking that since it was pretty early, it would be done earlier than 4:30pm. Is there any benefit to dropping my car off earlier in the day? more

These folks are so friendly and so informative. They tell you what they're going to be doing to your car and, lo and behold, they stay true to their word. They provide the absolute best customer service in all of San Diego. I wouldn't go anywhere else. more

Superior Customer Service 12/8/2011

We took our "new to us-not so gently used car" into John's Automotive for an oil change and some TLC. We were called to discuss the necessary repairs within a very short period and they helped us to prioritize our repairs. They were kind and friendly throughout the process and our repairs were even completed a little earlier than we had thought. We feel like we are in very good hands with John's Automotive Care and will continue to return for our care care needs. more

The team at John's automotive was great. I showed up without an appointment and they were able to fit me in their busy schedule. Everyone is very friendly there. The waiting area is very clean and they provide an assortment of free beverages. I have been going there for years and I never feel pressured to buy some "service" that my car doesn't need. Bottom line, they keep my car running! more

Since we moved, I needed to find a new auto shop. (Ack!) I chose John's based on reviews, the BBB rating, and the AAA certification, and wasn't disappointed. The folks there went above and beyond to be courteous, helpful and considerate. Many, many thanks. We'll be back! more

2003 Ford Expedition - Front Brakes 11/24/2011

This was my second service at John's Automotive. I was referred by a co-worker and I can see why she brings her vehicles here. Service advisors are friendly and professional, and even though I've only been in two times I'm treated as if I've been there 1,000 times. The shop is clean. And the fact that you guys ask for your customers' feedback is just the icing on the cake. more
