Best

I went in to replace the aquamarine in my engagement ring (it has fallen out TWICE and reset and now finally LOST) (I bought it at New Jewelers in Gwinnett STAY AWAY FROM THEM). ...

Worst

I brought my fiance in to buy an engagement ring and the owner told my fiance,""Don't do it""! Is he actually trying to sell rings? What a downer for such a special moment in ou...

great value and fast sevice 10/15/2009

I recently had a baby and was very disappointed that my ring no longer fit. The jeweler I normally used has gone out of business and when calling around to get my ring resized, I was shocked by the prices. Jeweler on the square was the first and only reasonable quote that I received and they completed the work in 24 hours. It was great to have the peace of mind and security that it was being worked on in house. The ring looks good and I plan to use this jeweler in the future. more

The Best Customer Service & Unforgettable Selections!!? 9/24/2009

I had gone into this jewelers to get an appraisal for a stone I had purchased. I was blown away by the selection of jewelry and couldn't leave the store for a couple hours! This is not your cookie cutter jewelry store. The pieces were breath taking. Not only did I get an appraisal but found a new jeweler!! They even set & design pieces. Its truly a ONE STOP place. They even fix jewelry. In the time I was there I also found out they work on watch's. I looked everywhere for someone to work on my swiss watch and now its the only place I trust to bring everything. Customer service was outstanding! Gerald went out of his way to inform every person about there pieces and even took the time to work and explain it to a small child that was purchasing a stone for a ring. He made sure he sized it and treated her as though she was a millionaire. I have to say that in a world that customer service has just gone out the door....Jeweler On the Square made me smile as I walked away. It just affirmed that there are still great people and great jewelers out there not waiting to rip you off. It went a long ways to see that a customer is a real person and we want to be treated special no matter who you are and how old you may be. This is a customer for life!! Congratulations and thank you!!! You made me believe in true customer service again!!! Pros: Customer Service One of a Kind Jewelry, One Stop does it all Cons: NONE!!!! more

Special Engagement 9/2/2009

My fiance recently moved out West for a job. We were not engaged at the time, but had talked about getting engaged for several months. I have several pieces of jewelry from Gerald's shop on the Square that I absolutely adore. more

Best Jeweler in Marietta! 8/11/2009

My husband, Ralph, met Gerald through business at Gerald's vacation home in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania. They hitit off right away and became friends. Gerald found out that my birthday was in July and Ralph and I were also going to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary in July. Ralph and Gerald devised this most elaborate and wonderful surprise for me! Pros: Jewelry selection, customer service, jewelry repair Cons: nothing more

WONDERFUL, UNIQUE JEWELER 7/27/2009

I have personally known Gerald for 10-12 years and know him to be extremely trustworthy. His pieces are unique, one of a kind and usually custom made by him. His talents are extraordinary. When I require ""only the best"" in antique or custom made rings, I ONLY purchase from Gerald. He is and always will be ""my personal jeweler"". He is my ""Merlin"" of the jewelry world! I recommend him very highly. I own many of his pieces and treasure them dearly. Pros: One of a kind jewelry Cons: Parking could be tricky more

Still going strong 4/20/2009

Gerald took a diamond we brought to him over 14 years ago, and made it into an engagement ring my wife loves. I'm glad to see he is still on the Square helping out other customers. He knows his stuff! Pros: Creative, talented Cons: hard to park near more

Fantastic place for great values 4/13/2009

Gerald is extremely knowledgable. he loves to share his vast knowledge. his shop is AMAZING!! whatever you are looking for, if he does not have it he can find it. I have purchased lamps, stained glasss, jewelery, records and art glass here. not only have I enjoyed the treasure hunt of seeing what is around the next corner, I also walked away knowing I got a GREAT deal. if you don't find anything you like in th jewelery cases not to worry, Gerald also makes custom items!! the shop and the people who work there are true treasures!! more

BUYER BEWARE !!! 4/6/2009

Less than desirable atmosphere and attitude, Very abusive to customers and employees. UPDATE: Went into the store to talk about returning a statue that was sold as ""Coin Silver"", it was subsequently appraised and identified as Silver plate over brass. I asked for a refund of purchase price and Mr personality lobbed a few vile comments and promptly threw me out of the store. This appears to be a regular happening of selling goods that are questionable at best. I would suggest that any Sapphire, Ruby or piece of Art purchased there be verified either before or soon after purchase. At least ask for certification that you are dealing with a certified Gemologist and Appraiser otherwise your appraisal isn't worth the paper on which it is printed. Anyone holding these qualifications will proudly display their Certifications. Pros: Large array of merchandise Cons: Dealing with Gerald more

Unusual jewelery and excellent service 2/18/2009

Gerald the Jeweler is a knowledgeable, honest person who offers and ecclectic selection of antique jewelery. I purchased a pendant from him and my wife didn't like it. He accepted the return without question and replaced it with a gorgeous diamond and tanzanite ring, which she loves. I would highly recommend doing business with him. more

Wonderful Jewelry 2/16/2009

I have always had a good experience with this jewler. My husband and I have been shopping with him for the past few years and have been happy with all of the pieces we have purchased from him. He is one of the few Gemologists in this area that is familiar with opals (my birthstone). His shop is just chocked full of all kinds of jewels, vintage posters, stained glass, jade and more. I could spend all day looking through this shop. His pieces are unique, so if you are looking for that something special, this is the place to find it. He also has mainstream pieces to look through as well, so don't feel left out if you like modern pieces! Pros: Fair price for a great quality and unique product Cons: Parking is a little tough on busy days, but worth the walk or working around the hours of traffic more

The Most Amazing Source for Unusual Lamps and Other Great Antiques & Art 2/16/2009

My wife and I just happened into Marietta for Valentine's Day. We had no previous knowledge of the shop and had never been to Marietta before that day. When we peeked in the window of the shop late in the evening, we said, ""We have to come back here tomorrow!"" more

unique 5/12/2008

This place is great! The vareity of piece offered are one of a kind and the staff really delivers a clear understanding to the beauty of the pieces... and it's local! more

Savy/honest dealer 1/24/2008

Gerald knows what he's doin. In business for years & has solid and very open relations with his clients. The guy ""Newton"" who bad-mouthed him clearly has an agenda. I've had multiple dealings with him ; both on the buying & selling end. more

This Gem Of A Jewelry Shop Is Like A Diamond In The Rough. 9/25/2007

This crammed full jewelry shop in Marietta Square is a gem. The owner is a master gemologist and an artisan in the creation of new pieces, though estate jewelry is also available. Tthe most fascinating wares are the brightly hued, vintage French advertising posters and reproduction Tiffany styled lamps. The shop's size forces a crowded inventory, make sure to spend time examining the nooks and crannies for undiscovered treasure! more

Terrible customer service 5/14/2006

I brought a watch in for a simple battery replacement. After almost 2 weeks, I returned to find a piece missing from the watch and the day function didn't work. When I complained, the owner yelled at me and told me to take it to a 'watch guy'. Cons: Did not deliver what was promised in a timely manner, bad customer service more
