A job more than well done 4/14/2011

When the pastor of my church said ""The communion cups are looking sad. Do you think they could be fixed up?"" I had to agree with him. They're pewter (I guess) water goblets, with the dents and dings that come with 20+ years of use. Of the four, three wouldn't even sit flat. I said, ""Well, I know a guy who fixed some jewlery for me. I'll ask him."" more

Excellent Service and VERY Customer Friendly! 4/11/2011

I've been to Jeweler on the square several times to sell various antique items along with appraising precious jewelry, and I've enjoyed the experience every time. The owners are always willing to take the extra time not just in providing excellent service, but in a VERY personable and friendly manner. You cannot beat their rates, experience, and personable customer service...anywhere! If you're looking for a trustworthy, reputable and friendly jeweler--to buy, sell or just browse--look no further! more

Some of the BEST customer service in a while! 4/1/2011

My goodness! There is still good ole fashioned custormer service! I went in today for a repair on some jewelry and the gentelman who I guess owns the store not only talked to me and advised me on the service he would give, but he took the time to talk with me all the while giving me, the customer attention to detail and not talking at me! I am impressed and will certainly do future business with him. I love the Marietta Suare and he just validates why! (sorry I did not get his name) more

Great selection & quick service! 3/17/2011

This store is a diamond in the rough. There are sooo many beautiful and truly unique items in the shop that you could spend hours just perusing them. I went into the shop to find 2 small side rubies to set, along with a larger center stone, into a ring I'd gotten from my grandmother. The 2 gentlemen (one of them being the owner) were very helpful and accommodating. I found the perfect side stones and arranged to have Gerald rebuild the prongs and set the stones for me. He was so awesome! The price was very fair, and he rearranged his busy schedule, working late into the night, just to have the ring finished for me by the very next day! Here I was thinking it would take at least a week or 2 as the fastest. It's nice to know that there are still jewelers out there who really care about their customers. Note: I do recommend coming at a time when the store is not busy if you prefer one on one service :) Thanks again Jeweler on the Square! more

Do you want to feel you are appreciated? You certainly are made to feel welcome and appreciated when visiting Jeweler in the Square. Gerald is very knowledgeable about jewelery. He designs beautiful custom jewelry. The shop carries one of a kind estate jewelry, custom made pieces, and a beautiful selection of jewelry. Gerald and Ginger are always pleasant and welcoming. I collect various butterfly motifs. Gerald and Ginger have found butterfly jewelry with me in mind. I have always received compliments on any of the jewelry purchased at this wonderful shop. more

Excellent service in all regards 2/12/2011

I have used Gerald at Jeweler on the Square for many services. Ring sizing, setting stones in existing jewelry, creating custom designs, and even buying pre-made pieces. I have been very satisfied with him in every respect. He is fun to talk to, knowledgeable, and attentive to special requests. He has earned my repeat business, and I would recommend him without reservation. more

Everyone should have a jeweler as Gerald! 1/23/2011

Stopped in to show Gerald a few pieces of jewelry handed down from my grandmother and he was helpful in determining what the pieces were, the grade and any other information that was helpful! The shop was busy with customers as we were visiting on a Saturday but Gerald and his staff made the rounds and were very attentive. They have awesome, amazing pieces of jewelry and other great merchandise. I would highly recommend Gerald as your personal jeweler! more

The Best Jeweler in Atlanta 1/12/2011

I love jewelry. One of my earliest memories is going to the Strand and then looking at the jewelry at the jewelry stores on the Square in Marietta. Going to Jeweler on the Square is heaven to me. It is like stepping back in time when you were treated as a valued friend and customer. I have been buying from Gerald since he opened Jeweler on the Square and he continues to amaze me. He carries new and estate jewelry but his creations are very best and most unique. There is a wide selection of styles and gemstones in every color imaginable. Gerald and Ginger get to know you and what you want and can customize anything you want. I love and treasure everything that I have purchased there. There is no where to compare with the selection, style and unique specialized service you can get at the incomparable Jeweler on the Square. more

Beautiful Opal Ring 12/5/2010

Last week I picked up my opal ring that Gerald hand made for me and it's beautiful!! My mother gave me a large opal that she had for 60 years and Gerald helped me choose a ring mold, then cast the gold and set 20 diamonds around the opal. I'm SO happy with the care and expertise of Jeweler on the Square. I was given individual attention from start to finish in contrast to my experience with another store that passed my request back and forth between two designers for six months until I finally gave up and went to Gerald. So glad that I did! more

WILL NEVER RETURN. 9/26/2010

On a recent trip to the ""Jeweler on The Square"" with my fiancee, we were checking out some of the great vinyl (records) they/he had for sale. Everything was fine, and after looking through the records in the back of the store we saw some crates on the floor with more vinyl so we thought we would give it a look. Don't get me wrong, the guy has some great stuff...the stuff isn't the issue. After going through the crates for a minute the owner very rudely asked ""May i HELP you with something?"". My fiancee replied to him that we were really enjoying his vinyl selection and that soon we would probably be coming to back to make a sizeable purchase. He then said, again VERY rudely, that ""I believe the sign says that those records are NOT for sale, the ones in BACK are!"". My fiancee then apologized and said that we didnt sse the sign...because the crates were on the FLOOR with things piled in front of AND on top of them. There was indeed a small paper sign taped to one of the crates but it was NOT visible when we began looking. She then asked if they were GOING to be for sale and what their story was and he EXTREMELY rudely said ""Umm, for my enjoyment"" and then stared at us angrily until we left. Of course i was red in the face mad and ready to storm back in and tear this guy a new ****ole, but i calmed myself and we went about our day. All it would have taken was a simple ""Sorry guys, those are my personal records and theyre not for sale, but thanks for coming in.""....anything is ALWAYS better than what basically amounts to verbal abuse. I used to work on the Square some years ago, and after this i remembered that this guy has a reputation for treating people this way on frequent occasion. He must figure he gets enough business from collectors buying high end items that casual customers can be written off and talked down to like idiots but he is mistaken. We planned to buy quite a bit of vinyl from him, but i will NEVER set foot in his store again, not that he gives a crap. I would strongly recommend that you do the same and not give this jerk your hard earned $, but do what you will...i just couldn't let it slide without saying something. more

Wow!!! Good Stuff 9/19/2010

Well I talked my girl friend into going into this store to look around. While in there we discovered they sell jewelery. We started looking at rings and they have plenty. To make a long story short we purchased an engagement ring from the Jewelers on the Square. If someone would have told me I would get an engagement ring from any place other than a major chain jewelery store I would have laughed. They took the time to show us their stock of vintage and custom rings. Since we were in search of a unique ring we let them show us their stock. We are so happy that we did. more

Unique Jewelry Galore! 7/30/2010

My experience with Jeweler on the Square has been the most unique experience I have ever had with dealing in jewelry. The owner and is a certified gemologist and makes most of the jewelry within watching distance. They've got twenty years of dealing in antiques so that everything they sell they can match with its interesting history. The jeweler and his employees are very helpful when it comes to custom work, and the repairs are very timely, many of them being done while you wait for a small price. When it comes to selection, they stock everything from meteorite stones to antique vintage settings to colored diamonds. They stand behind their work one hundred percent and I highly recommend making them your lifetime jewelers. more

The most unromantic place to get an engagemant ring 4/28/2010

The best place for jewelry in the metro Atlanta area 11/1/2009

We've been customers of Jeweler on the Square --Gerald and Ginger and the team -- for several months now. They have an absolutely incredible selection of jewelry with almost any gemstone you can imagine - more than I've ever seen in one location - and the staff is extremely knowledgeable. The jewelry is excellent quality at amazing prices. We went to a ""Gem Club"" open house last week and had a great time learning about all the different gems. They had a drawing and we actually WON A $550 RUBY - we were thrilled and can't wait to have Gerald design a beautiful piece of jewelry with it! We can't say enough good things about Gerald, Ginger, Avi, Stan - the whole team is so helpful and really knows their stuff. They also have vintage jewelry pieces, antique clocks and an array of antique and rare collectibles - a very FUN store! They're also often open late on Friday and Sat evenings so stop in sometime! more

A great place to go and meet a talented jeweler 10/25/2009

I went into the store with friends last spring. Just accompanying them, met Gerald and started looking around. Standing at the counter I discovered loose stones which I admired and then asked if he had more. Well, he did and I selected a large stone for a pendant and a smaller one for a ring. He was going to make them up for me and I asked if he could incorporate some other pieces I had into the designs. Pros: Has Great selection, loose stones and can make what you want more

A Wonderful Little Shop 10/23/2009

My wedding ring was broken so I was on the look out for a jeweler with quality workmanship and a reasonable price. While I was shopping on the Marietta Square, I mentioned that I needed my ring repaired. I was immediately referred to ""Jeweler on the Square"". As I entered the shop I was greeted warmly and I received prompt service. As they took the ~15 minutes for the repair, I enjoyed the conversation and looked through the interesting inventory. The ""Jeweler on the Square"" is now on my list of preferred shops. I will be recommend ing their services to friends and will return for jewelry repairs and when I am in need of a ""one of a kind"" gift. Pros: Friendly service and enjoyable atmosphere more
