Save your money 9/23/2011

I saw an article about the restaurant in Southern Living several years ago.It sparked my interest and I vowed to visit one of the locations if I was in the area. I got an opportunity on 7/22/11. I love Vietnamese food for it's great seasoning and fresh ingredients.I took my daughter and sister for a night out. I have to say that I regret visiting the restaurant. The $53.37 that I spent was not worth it. The food was NOT fresh. It appeared to be re-heated. The soup that I ordered had tough, dry pieces of chicken in it and was NOT seasoned AT ALL. Needless to say we left a table full of barely touched food. I complained to Nick the server. He replaced the chicken soup with more eggrolls-again they were not fresh and appeared to be reheated. In frustration, we just left. I found the receipt in my wallet from the visit and just had to write about the experience. I will NOT EVER visit this establishment again more

Mmmmm.....curry. 1/1/2010

EVERYTHING I have tried is good. Dragon guy review below is ignorant since I believe Jenni's Noodle House has been around for years and years and years. Try the curry and the crispy eggrolls. They have interesting art on the wall and the staff is accommodating. Parking is tight, but they have another location by Galleria and parking is ok there. Pros: Amazing food, decoration rocks, good prices. Cons: refill your own glass more

noodles oh noodles 11/4/2009

jenni's noodles house is everything you could ever want or desire at a noodle house. the service the food the cool vibe the great tunes and the super duper food is fab. i am only writing a review because the other reviews are false. some people just dont need a whole lot of noodle love:) i am a lifelong noodle fan. chow Pros: dumplings, curry, ginger chicken, oh da pho Cons: no french bread served more

Just OK 2/11/2009

This place was just OK. In a town with amazing Vietnamese pho, Jenni's noodles just did not deliver. My impression before I went was that it would be this HIP little place, but that's not true. They have cafeteria style seating for maybe 20 people. That would be fine if the food rocked, b/c then it would be worth it, but no. Too bad b/c it's hard for little restaurants like this to survive unless they are REALLY REALLY good. more

DISAPPOINTING 2/9/2009

Noodles and Asian food are some of my favorite things in the world. Jenni's Noodle House was really quite average, and the prices make it well below average. This place seems like something they should post on the ""Stuff White People Like"" blog. Pros: Food came out very quickly Cons: Food, prices more

Lacking Authenticity and OVERPRICED 2/9/2009

I'd been wanting to try this place for awhile since I always pass by the area. I went for the first time yesterday, and I'm sad to say I'm not impressed. The dishes were overpriced and lacked the flavor I'm accustomed to at authentic Asian restaurants. My meal was alright, but it left something to be desired. I suppose the prices are alright considering the restaurant is in River Oaks, but I would much rather make the drive to Chinatown to get a $6 bowl of noodle soup than pay almost twice as much for this Americanized stuff. Pros: Friendly staff, good service, food prepared quickly Cons: Average food at high prices, lacking authenticity, small parking lot more

My New Addiction 9/25/2008

I absolutelt LOVE Jenni's Noodle House and find myself eating there at least once aweek. The staff there is very friendly and the food is fresh and healthy. I love the casual atmosphere and their prices are very resonable. Pros: Healthly Menu Choices Cons: None :) more

Prices are not ""stupid low,"" just plain stupid. Cute cashier. 9/20/2008

I went to Jenni's about a month ago after hearing all the amazing things about it. Like the last reviewer said, the prices are abysmal. Pros: The cashier, the curry (to an extent) Cons: Parking, serving size, HORRIBLY overpriced more

Will NEVER eat from here AGAIN!!! (MUST READ THIS!!) 9/3/2008

My co-worker and I decided to give this place a try since people seemed to have good inputs about it, well let me tell you the TRUTH....this place is H O R R I B L E!!!! Not only are the prices too high but the to-go quantity is ridiculously small.....I can get full eating a KIDS Happy Meal from McDonalds instead of their lunch portion!! I was so furious when I saw what I paid for AND we were charged a $1 for picking up our OWN food!! The quality of the food is even WORSE, I ordered the Egg Roll Vermicelli and the noddles were hard and had a horrible tast overall. My co-worker ordered the chicken vermicelli and the chicken was sooooo dry and HORRIBLE! I have NEVER been so disppointment with a restaurant like this before. I will just stick with THE BEST Vietnamese Restaurant I have ever had.....Vietopia on Buffalo Spdway...their vermicelli bowls are GREAT and they even INCLUDE the spring roll AND its much cheaper! You should try it so you can tell the difference! more

Best Noodles in Houston 9/2/2008

I must tell my fellow Houstonians, I just had the most amazing dish at Jenni's Noodle House. The Buddha Soda Noodles with Salt-n-Pepper Shrimp was the best tasting Noodle dish I've ever eaten. It is a must try! Soba noodles, bean sprouts, snow peas, green onions and garlic stir fried and topped with grilled salt-n-pepper shrimp. Amazing! more

great noodles, great employees 8/30/2008

I heard that this place was cool and tasty so after a few months of thinking of eating there I was finally able to for a hurried lunch. The man that took my order (he doubles as a cashier and waiter, and probably everything else in this small restaurant) was funny and charming. When my lunch arrived I was happy to find that the bowl was burning hot and fresh. The ingredients were obviously fresh and not prepared before and just waiting to be reheated (hooray). There was art from local artists on the wall and family style seating. The floors were clean. I bet this would be a great place to eat before or after a show. As a matter of fact, the only thing I would improve would be their hours. Please stay open later Jenni's. Some of us are just getting started when you guys are closing. I'd be able to eat there a lot more often. Pros: great food, personable counter service Cons: closes too early more

Not as good as it sounds 8/28/2008

After reading the reviews here, we decided to try Jenni's. The staff was friendly, though maybe overly so for a first meeting. It was obvious they knew the regulars and treated them all like old friends. The menu had some tasty items, but it seems the prices have gone up recently, as most dishes were $10 and the price for 5 tiny eggrolls is $6. The food was ok, but certainly not great. We probably won't be going back, the mediocre food's not really worth the price. more

Yummy! 7/14/2008

We eat at Jenni's every Sunday, it's become our new tradition! The food is amazing and the people working there are so nice. I first took my boyfriend since he had never been and he ate there 3 days in a row the same week with some of his friends. I am convinced we are addicted because even hungover it tastes amazing! My favorite dish is the noodle bowls especially the Chilli Oil Beef Ramen. We keep meaning to try new things on the menu but it is so good it's hard to branch out. Other favorites are the dumpings (we get extra ginger soy and dump it into our noodle bowls) and cake for dessert! They microwave the yellow cake with chocolate frosting until it is a little melty and it is amazing! It is so good, we took some home and ate it for breakfast one morning! The limeade is a really good refreshing combination with the spicy noodles! I tried it for the first time this weekend and love it! The place constantly has people in there at any time of the day and with their new location you will become a regular too! Pros: Food, Service, Price, Atmosphere....it's quirky! Cons: I guess the parking lot....we never have a problem but it is small. more

FORGET THE TACOS!!!!!!! 8/30/2007

Even though I may come in looking dusty and greasy (i'm a mechanic) I still get treated with great respect. Jenni and Scott are really great people and we love every single item in the menu. The spring rolls, soups, and can't forget desserts are the best in town. Pros: food, waitstaff, service more

Solid food, nice atmosphere. 8/14/2007

There's nothing more exciting than sitting across from your roommate, watching him fight back convulsions from food he ordered a LITTLE too hot for even himself. Jenni's is a great place for some spicy, delicious Asian food. I'm a fan of the soba... and, well, heck, it's all good. You pretty much can't go wrong here with anything you order. The deals are solid, the spicyness is wonderful, plus there are feather boas involved. How can you possibly go wrong? Pros: Nice spice! Cons: Price hike, parking. more

yummy & fun 7/7/2007

Jenni & Scott are wonderful people! Fun place with yummy dishes! No pretense--totally comfortable place! more

Best Dumplings in Houston 6/13/2007

I love the dumplings at Jenni's with the spicy ginger jalepeno soy sauce. Also, the Thai Spicy Shrimp Soup is addicting. Easy spot for take out. See you there. Pros: fast casual, big parking lot, byob, lots of vegetarian dishes Cons: closed sunday, lame neighborhood more

Great desserts 6/14/2006

For me, it's a hit and miss at Jenni's. I love the spring rolls (the mint is a great touch), I love the steamed chicken dumplings, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the desserts. Whoever makes the desserts are amazing. I've had other things which I was okay with but found better at other places, like the wonton noodle soup and another dish I forgot. But I could totally make a meal out of the spring rolls, dumplings, and cake. Great stuff. The location is a little inconvenient for me but I still rather have a couple of things that a really great than a bunch of mediocre things. That's probably why I only go for those three when I go there. Pros: Cake, dumplings, spring rolls Cons: Location, prices ($1/dumpling) more

Are you kdding? This place was TERRIBLE... 6/19/2005

My co-workers and I happened upon Jenni's via citysearch and decided to try it out. Citysearch had it ranked so high, and I must say I am very disappointed with our experience. People...can you see it's in a run-down shopping center, there is no ambiance!!!So what if they supply boas? The food is still terrible. It was soy-sauce soaked, super greasy and had very little topping. Not only that..but Jenni is very rude. I know people have bad days...but geez...you're in a service-oriented business. Keep that frowny face & attitude at home or get out of the business. Cons: Bad Food, Bad Service, Rude more

NOODLE FEVER! 10/29/2004

This has now become my favorite little asian restaurant. It has a little bit of everything on the menu from the famous infernal chicken curry (which is OUT of this world) to the salt and pepper shrimp. Though not vegetarian, I love their ginger tofu.. it's a must for my girlfriend. Service is friendly and knowledgable. The menu is well priced. Pros: Inexpensive, FOOD, Atmosphere more
