Best

We did a lot of research before choosing a company and many the painters we contacted either didn't have worker's comp. insurance, or said they would email a quote, but never did ...

Worst

Although Mr. Lee's prices were high, we were willing to try his service based on a recommendation---BIG MISTAKE---his crew came over, had numerous reasons why they could not start...

We were impressed... 10/18/2011

We did a lot of research before choosing a company and many the painters we contacted either didn't have worker's comp. insurance, or said they would email a quote, but never did :( James and his crew were so professional, had all their documents, licenses and referrals (all glowing recommendations) right on hand. He gave us a quote on the spot, followed up with an email the next day. The work done was excellent. Our search is over for a great reliable painter. We highly recommend this company! more

Interior painting of 3 bedrooms, living room, dining room, office, and two hallways - approximately 1700 Sq Ft We couldn't be happier with the work done. James responded promptly to our request for an estimate, and provided a quote on the spot. We were also having our wood floors refinished and James accomodated the coordination of schedules with the flooring contractor. The painting crew was very professional. They carefully covered the newly finished hardwood floors and masked all non-painted surfaces. The quality of the work is outstanding. The crew arrived each day on-time, and cleaned up their work area before they left. I will be using House Painting, Inc. again for the exterior work next. These guys are great, and I highly recommend them. more

Response to previous, misinformed review 12/25/2008

Hi, this is James, the contractor involved in the above customer's statement. I just want to clarify the context of the situation. The customer had a limited time frame after closing the escrow and hired us to finish the painting job within 3-4 days before moving in. However, when our company arrived, the house was not ready to be painted (i.e. the baseboard, hardwood floors, and molding should have already been attached). If we went ahead with painting without waiting for the carpentry work, we would have to paint twice, which would be additional charges that we ourselves would incur, not the customer. Our painters were the only ones supposed to be in the house to quickly finish the job on time, but we found the carpenter/handyman still working, and was told the job would take half the day. We decided to eat and then come back when it was finished, but the work was still not done. We called the customer to explain that it was impossible to start our job without a finished interior, and she arrived and became upset after listening to the handyman without giving us a chance to explain. We were forced to cancel the job even after purchasing paint and materials which was never paid for, and cannot be used for other jobs. more

James Lee and his crew are rude, arrogant, and will drag out a job if allowed---STEER CLEAR 4/17/2008

Although Mr. Lee's prices were high, we were willing to try his service based on a recommendation---BIG MISTAKE---his crew came over, had numerous reasons why they could not start work right away, took breakfast and lunch within an hour of arrival and thenn, when we brought the issues to Mr. Lee's attention, he said that he's used to working on million dollar homes and basically yelled at me until another contractor asked him to leave---not sure if he was in his right mindor not but he is a time bomb and perhaps milliionaires can afford to deal with him but all others should save their money and get a respectable painter Cons: expensive, poor service, hostile workers more
