I am one of those people who suffered from bad dentistry as a child (drilling without novocaine). Although I am nearly 60, I still have anxiety about dental procedures. My appointment today was to remove a large, old, cracked mercury filling on a molar that had decay under it. Everything went great! Dr. Scales put in a crown (a Cerec restoration). He and his staff asked many times if everything was okay, and I really appreciated that they were concerned with the comfort level of the patient. I took an ativan tablet (generic) for anxiety prior to the appointment and opted for nitrous oxide during the procedure. I also brought peaceful music and headphones and wore sunglasses. All of these helped my comfort level significantly. I rate this visit as an A+. The hygienist I saw at this office a few weeks ago was excellent also.
