Worst

So I was excited to try Indocine.

Average 2/27/2012

The food here is decent but the prices are expensive compared to what you can get at other vietnamese restaurants. My husband and I decided to stop by for lunch since we were craving some vietnamese noodles but were disappointed in the serving size and the ridiculous price. The only reason I gave it a 3 star was because the service was nice and the food wasn't too bad. I would recommend other vietnamese restaurants for those who want good food for a decent price. more

I love this restaurant 8/31/2010

Indochine is one of my favorite restaurants in Salt Lake. The service is friendly and I am never disappointed in my meal. I also like that the food is always freshly made and not sitting in a warming tray in the back. My favorite dish is honey walnut shrimp(it is to die for). I like the fact that the chef will prepare anything that you request. Just tell him what you want in it and it is done. The restaurant is close to the ""U"" campus so it is a great choice before a play or ball game. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. more

local find 8/18/2010

I always enjoy my meal at Indochine. Some of my favorites include the fried and fresh spring rolls, vegetarian la-han and the vermicilli noodle salads. I've taken many out of state friends to the restaurant and they love it. One of my friends from LA, who loves Vietnamese food, insists on going there every time she visits. more

Best Neighborhood Restaurant 8/18/2010

I first tried Indochine over 2 years after moving to SLC. I was looking for good pho and was skeptical that I'd find it here in SLC. I was wrong. Since that first visit, I have been a regular at Indochine almost weekly. The food is always good, the staff is courteous and the are prices reasonable. The owners frequently come out to chat and say hello and on several occasions have asked me to try new dishes for the menu. Indochine is one of my favorite places to eat and I always recommend it to friends who ask for dining ideas. more

Best Asian Restaurant in Salt Lake City 8/16/2010

I'm disappointed by the previous two comments... it is all too often people only share something if they have an issue, but never share anything if it's good. Even more disappointing is the fact there are not more good reviews as most of my friends at the University (the restaurant is conveniently located near it) go there all the time and LOVE IT!! As the son of Vietnamese parents who started one of the first Asian Fusion restaurants in America (my father is a classically trained French chef who started incorporating an ""Asian flair"" to his food in the early 80's) and most recently had another, I grew up with good authentic Vietnamese food and Asian Fusion food. I can tell you the owners KNOW how to do both and are very knowledgable and anything Vietnamese and Chinese. In fact, I've regularly asked them to do dishes not on the menu for special catering events and have received many accolades for the special food choices. The manager/owner is always happy to meet your every need and has certainly stepped up her service since the last two comments were made. I highly recommend you take the time to visit the gem of a restaurant in Salt Lake City. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. And if you're not sure what to get, make sure you ask the owner what she recommends that night... I have NEVER been disappointed! more

service is terrible 7/24/2009

i waited over 30 minutes between my appetizer and entree when i brought it up to the manager she was very defensive. ""this is how we operate, 30 minutes isn't a long wait, that's the restaurant business,"" she crowed. Cons: tick, tock, tick, tock more

good food when you can get it 5/18/2009

I waited and waited and waited for food. When I inquired about my order, after an patient hour of ""it'll be right out, we are just busy"", I was told that the order had not been properly placed by the server who was horrified. Said server tried to rectify the situation until the manager/owner arrived at the table. Ms. Manager/Owner berated ""the new"" server and then implied it was my fault I wasn't eating, offering no apology or incentive to return - I could wait for my order (that would be placed now and ready in 15-20 minutes), or I could go without food. If and when you get the food it is excellent, but the owner can ruin your experience if she is around. Pros: great tasting food Cons: abysmal management more
