Rude! Rude! Rude!\r The person I spoke to was rude. After asking how much I paid for the furniture and other question, he went naturally: it will be $75 charge. I quickly protested: I am not paying you any money to donate my nice furniture. He reluctantly accept the pick up.\r \r Later they called to change pick up time to 9am which I accepted. That morning, the driver woke me up at 7:15am telling me he would be at my house at 8:30am. \r \r Double checking their website, I regretted I called this organization. There is little information about who they are and what they do. Just like the people on the phone, the driver is rude also.\r \r I will not donate anything to the organization going forward.\r \r more

Disgraceful - today a horrible, rude and full of contempt man arrived at my apartment to pick-up items I was donating. There was a lot of beautiful pieces of furniture that I no longer needed as I have moved to a fully furnished home. The man could have cared less about the furniture and moved it out with no regard to the property or the apartment. he dragged everything across the wood floors and shoved dressers over the saddle in the door way. He hit walls with every item. I had to ask him over and over again to please handle with care. All he could muster was a grunt. I should have looked at these reviews first but have donated to other organizations in the past and have never dealt with anything close to this situation. more

Agree, if there was a negative rating, I would post it. This organization promises to pickup furniture anywhere in the State of NJ, but it seems if you're not home when the driver supposedly calls from the road, you're out of luck. The man who answers the phone doesn't have any phone manners, seems to be talking to someone else when he picks up the line and acts like you're interrupting him when you speak. I scheduled and confirmed a pickup in Central NJ on a Friday night. No one came or called until the next day after I left messages. We rescheduled for Monday night and again, no one came. On Tuesday morning, the ""man"" called and left a message that his driver tried called three times on Monday from the highway. There were no messages on my answering machine. I'm not sure what they're trying to accomplish, but it's no way to run a charity. I gave up and found another charity in Trenton to send my donation. more

If I could rate this a ""negative"" star, I would. I had the worst situation in dealing with the gentleman that answers the phones for the Yeshiva Kol Yaakov furniture donation center. He was rude - he hung up on me before we were finished our conversation - and he totally ignored what I was trying to tell him. I am in the process of selling my parents home (they both passed away during the last 5 years). I live in MD. and their home is in Mt. Laurel, NJ. The pick up was to be done between 1:00 and 3:00 on 11/19/10. I confirmed this twice. They did not come - they did not call and when I called them, he said there was a communication problem. I drove to NJ from MD that day specifically for this. I ended up having to call 1-800-got junk which responded immediately. However, I did not want to throw away the furniture; I was trying to donate it. I have called and emailed people for 5 days and not one person has responded. This is ridiculous. I am going to keep trying to reach someone but obviously they don't care about their customer service. NEVER USE THEM NEVER NEVER NEVER. more

This was the most horrible pick up service anyone could ever experience. The management is totally not in sync with the guys actually doing the moving. I was told that the list of items would be about $200 to pick up. When the non-english speaking movers came they quoted me $350. We negoitiated down to $250. They made an absolute mess of a sofa which ripped on the way down and spilled piles of tiny piece of foam everywhere. They refused to clean it, one of them made racial remarks when I held payment until I got a manager on the phone. It was a total disaster that had me cleaning my apartment building stairwell and hallway for 3 hours after they left. No one should ever use this service. more

I WAS EXPECTING sALVATION ARMY PICK-UP FOR THREE WEEKS....AND OF CORSE THEY DID NOT SHOW UP... SO I CALLED THIS CHARITY THEY CAME THE SAME DAY AND PICKED UP MY FURNITURE. Pros: Thumbs up? more

I called the number to donate bedroom furniture...and pretty nice furniture at that. The man on the phone told me he could be there tomorrow. I told him that wouldn't work and he hung up on me. No ok, no good bye, no call em when you can. I will donate this furniture elsewhere. But this rude individual had better look at himself and his agency. Gives the agency a terrible name. more

Rude on the phone, more rude in person. No questions were asked during the phone call, so I assumed that my nice piece of furniture would be taken. When the pickup people arrived, they walked in the door (whereas I would have thought they would knock and wait for me to answer) and then walked into the bedroom (since they were incorrectly told it was bedroom furniture). After looking at the item, the man told me that he didn't want it and walked out. There was no goodbye and no conversation. I now wish that I had not taken it off Craigslist in an effort to supporting this ""good cause"". more
