honda/acura care that puts others to shame. 4/17/2008

over the last few years, I've been floating up and down the Congo river, and I've never had to worry about car problems. now that i live in the states again, i have to drive my ex-wife's old Honda. i thought that for sure the thing would have died of old age by now, but she's been staying regular with the maintenance and repairs on it since I've left the picture. she's the meticulous type, and always tries to keep things on the up and up (which is why she was more than a little upset with me when i revealed that i had spent more than a year's worth of our mortgage on our last trip to Las Vegas. for all those who say love conquers all, you are wrong. there needs to be some kind of disclaimer about financial freedom in there. but... i digress). she's been keeping the car nice since I've been away, and of course it looks better now (5 years later) than it did back when we were married. she attributes the cars terrific shape to grand imports, because they are even more meticulous than she is (or, it could be the fact that they have a cute little mechanic that works in the back. i wouldn't put it past her to go there just to watch him lift her car up in the air with his muscular, oil smeared arms, and sweaty farrowing brow). I've had to take the car in recently for it's big timing belt service. i was impressed with there friendliness in the front office, and their attention to detail, not only to my cars mechanical well being, but also to my ""financial awareness"", as all of their prices were lower than the Honda dealership with better warranties, and a promises to equal or exceed dealership quality of workmanship. the car is running strong and smooth and drives like it's on rails, and I'm sure it will bring in a premium resale price thanks to all their work, and all of my wife's financial devotion to the car. kind of makes me jealous. does any one want to buy a Honda? Pros: service work was clean and exacting, and misty in the front was super nice Cons: no smoking in the waiting room, no open bar on premisis more
