Hyland's Orchard and Brewery

Our party was verbally assaulted by tractor driver when boarding Wagon for orchard tour. He insisted we disembark due to not having purchased plastic bag for apples we were expected to pick which was a complete surprise . After driving several hours with excited young children anticipating a Wagon ride the atrocious verbal attack was most unanticipated, extremely disturbing and totally uncalled for. To make Matters worse, he continued to unrelentlessly direct insults at a pregnant lady , as she disembarked from the Wagon causing much duress to not only our party but others who were witness to his outrageous verbage. Shame on this establishment for employing an individual of such bizarre character. Recommend anyone who is considering a visit to select one of the many other nearby orchards to avoid negative experience. more

This is a fun spot for the family. There are picnic areas, a snack bar, farm animals including a peacock that roams the grounds. As you approach, the animals gather around to see what you have for them. They have events under the pavilion, often with live music. My kids' favorite spot is the little playground. They also feature wagon rides, tours and pick your own pumpkins. We generally have gone on weekdays where the kids can visit with the animals and play in the play area. At Christmas time, they have trees and gifts. There are also baked goods such as pies and pastries which are fantastic. I haven't even delved into the brewery as I have always gone with the little ones, but it seems quite impressive. They are open year round and are a great place for a family outing. more
