Everytime I stay here or have guests stay here - the staff is very friendly and the service is really good.

Worst

The service is awesome! We got to ride golf carts to our room.

The location of this hotel is good but that is it. It needs to be renovated so before you book make sure your room catagory has been renovated. The more

Nice Hotel 3/27/2010

Nice hotel and room accommodations. The location is good, but could be closer to the beach. Nice shops and restuarants nearby. more

Expensive and awful 2/28/2010

You get what you pay for. They charge an additional $20-$30 for parking and there's no free parking nearbye. Add $10 per night for internet cause they don't have any wireless or free internet anywhere in their premises not even their hotel lobby. Awful customer support. Awful customer service. Unheated Jacuzzi's. Small beds - not for tall people You'll hear your neighbors through the thin walls talk. Everything is expensive. Feels like a cheap run down resort rather than a Hyatt. I felt feeling scammed! Pros: Nothing Cons: Everything more

Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is ok 12/17/2009

I give this Hyatt mixed reviews... First off, I traded my timeshare for a week in this Hyatt... For a trade with my timeshare - I would give this a 5 star! The bed was super comfortable... the grounds were nice... it was pretty good... but, this is ONLY because I used my timeshare... Now, let's say I didn't use my timeshare and I actually had to pay for it... I wouldn't! Why? The bathroom was tiny and it smelled like a dump. There were no elevators to get to our room... we have a 10 month baby so carrying the stroller up and down the stairs isn't fun. The pool wasn't heated so we couldn't use it. The beds were nice - as I stated above. To sum it up.. .for a timeshare, great... for a hotel you pay for - no way! more

Hyatt Regency Newport Beach is a great place to stay 7/27/2009

I attended a 3 day work meeting at the Hyatt Newporter and it was such a wonderful location. There are a lot of amenities offered at the hotel and the location is so great. It is close to the water, close to shopping. I recommend this location. more

Service is above and beyond! 11/23/2008

My wife and I were visting and we found this hotel on-line. When we arrived, the front desk perspn was beyond nice and even found us a king bed at the last minute. It's our anniversary, can you blame us for not wanting double beds. The bell cap was friendly and full of stories. He took us to our room in a little golf cart and was crisp and efficient. The room was comfortable and had a great view, terrific shower and well appointed. When I had a question, the front desk was incredibly nice and knew the answers by heart. At one point, my wife realized she forgot her curling iron. I called the front desk and asked if they had a curling iron she could use. (a long shot I realize) The front desk called right back and said they didn't. Housekeeping called 30 seconds later and said they didn't have one, but they could send someone to the store. We didn't have the time, but the level of service was outstanding. While my wife slept in, I dipped my feet in the hot tub and it was magnificent. We called and had a late check out, which the front desk gladly accomodated and they recommended Wilma's over on Balboa Island. (see my review) I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The service is outstanding in an era where service and our expectations have been watered down. Stay here and relax. Soak up the sun, you'll leave feeling refreshed. Pros: Service, Room, Location Cons: Expensive, but worth it. more

Great Getaway Hotel 7/30/2005

Really nice hotel and a great deal on their website. Perfect for a getaway from LA. Service made you feel like you were at home. Our room was large and had a nice balcony with a view of the golf course. 3 pools with one away from the families/kids. Landscaping is nice. Lot's of palm trees that make you feel like you're in Hawaii. Restaurant was so-so. Bar was fun. Had a firepit and had a live band. Easy walk to Balboa Island. We'll defnitely come back. more
