Hurricane Restaurant

I have to say the food was great though a little pricey; but our server (norma Jean) repeatedly hit on my husband . When I said something to her she toned it down , but continued with her eyes . Later we saw the same older tramp in a tryst in a car in the parking lot. Hurricanes needs to take out the trash before we'll go back!!!! more

There were 4 of us for lunch on a rainy Sunday in August. (Note: Anything indoors on a rainy weekend day during summer tourist season in Kennebunkport is going to be packed, and probably not too speedy.) We waited about 5 minutes for a table and were seated at a high top in the bar area. The late lunch menu was good, creative and pretty fairly priced. Our party had the following: The lobster chowder ($13 for a bowl) was a standout. Really, really good. Highly recommended. The half pound bar burger ($10, w/ fries or sweet potato fries.) was okay. The grilled crabmeat & havarti on sourdough sandwich ($13 w same fry choice as the burger) was very good. I had the house-made tuna pastrami small plate ($12) which was quite tasty. The pace of the meal was leisurely, but as I mentioned before, we expected that. The service was good and I would go here again - and definitely order the lobster chowder. more

We had the displeasure of eating at hurricane last night. After we were seated we had to get the attention of our server to take our orders. After 1 hour we were finally served our meal which happened to be cold. During this time no checked if we needed a drink. Our server tried to explain it us that my chowder just came out of the fridge and my wife's salmon was cold because they serve it on fresh salad. Perfect explaination, only if this your first meal ever. There are plenty of other nice restaurants in the area, this place is not worth the aggrevation. more

We arrived for dinner tonight at 7:30, were told that a table would be ready at about 8:30. We had a drink at the bar while waiting and, were seated at around 8:30. We ordered then and our appetizers arrived some time after that, At about 9:30, we had still not been served our entrees. We chose to leave without our dinner as we were no longer hungry. Also, the inside dining room was very very packed...the tables were very close to one another. As far as I am concerned, skip this place...unless you like to be tortured! Cons: service more
