My husband and I no longer eat at House of Chan. This makes me very sad, b/c despite the fact that their egg rolls and crab rangoon were never very good, they had the best sesame chicken and beef/broccoli and we actually loved their free hot tea. We ate there a few times a month, and the small staff there started to recognize us.\r

The hostess is very nice, I swear. But it slowly escalated from greeting us warmly, to chatting for a moment when she sat us, to stopping by to chat while we were eating, to sitting and talking with us until our food arrived ... until the last time we went, when she pulled a chair up to our booth and talked to us the whole time we were there. We provided one-word answers to her questions, didn't ask any of our own, referred to it as our ""date night"" ... all to no avail. It was just too awkward, so we stopped going. \r

Anyway, the entrees are really amazing, so I highly recommend House of Chan ... just don't be too friendly with the staff, I guess.
Pros: Great prices, yummy entrees, kind staff, clean place
Cons: the deep-fried appetizers (egg rolls, crab rangoon) always seemed to be cool in the middle; overbearing hostess
