They really are the best in the area. Their rooms are affordable and surprisingly cheap. I love the services that come with the rent as well. more

Disappointed :( 2/21/2012

I planned a surprise overnight stay for my husband's birthday in January 2012. The website looked fun, and I purchased the Valentine's Special to add to our special evening. Don't get me wrong, it's a pretty place and has a neat vibe when you first walk in. However, overall I was pretty disappointed in our experience for the amount I paid. The flower petals were fake (which I could have purchased myself) and the candles were cheap-looking and battery operated. Upon arriving in our room, we opened a cabinet to find three empty condom boxes. Ew. Needless to say we inspected the rest of the room for ""ickies"" but it was fairly clean otherwise. But I couldn't help but feel a little gross sleeping on that bed afterwards. ha! And whoever said that the hotel is ""worlds away"" from the airport is a little off...we found the nearby runway very distracting. We ordered a room service breakfast, which was great. Lots of food and tasted great. We won't use Hotel Preston again, simply because I don't fee you are getting what you pay for. It's a fun concept, though! more

Loved the food ar the restaurant 1/2/2012

My husband and I stayed at this hotel before our flight to Chicago. The capreses salad was better at this hotel than any we had in Chicago! And the whole meal was the same. Chef Danny came out to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The hotel could improve on the comfort of the beds but other than that it was a nice stay. more

Terrible Stay 8/2/2010

We could not get a hot shower, our phones were not working so we could not call down to tell them what was going on. Had to get dressed to let them know. We also had disgusting towels. I expected a much nicer hotel. Maybe it was nice at one time but not anymore. I would not stay here again and would advise others to stay at another hotel. Cons: cold shower, dirty towels more

Horrible Hotel Experience 7/27/2009

I found Hotel Preston on the internet and liked the rate and that it was close to everything. It smelled like smoke! The pool had about 5 lounge chairs and it was located about 100 feet from a bad neighborhood. My car was even vandalized in their parking lot. I will never stay there again and advise anyone even thinking of it to pay an extra 50 bucks for a nicer hotel, it will be worth it. Pros: Close to Mall Cons: Also close to the slums more

The worst experience I've had in a long time! 2/14/2009

We stayed there for a Photography workshop since that is where the workshop was. When we arrived, we checked in and were taken to our room. On the walk from the elevator to our room, we heard several LOUD dogs barking. It seemed every door we walked by had a bark. We went down to ask to be moved to another floor and on our way ran into several others who had already asked to move. We were told we had to come down to the front desk to move! Went down there, and while we were waiting to get room assignment changed, the girl answers the phone and spends 10 minutes with another guest describing wines (shouldn't his call be sent to room services to answer??) So finally after standing there for 10 minutes, we finally get our room key. They don't even offer to move our bags! We had to - we originally tipped a bellboy to take our luggage to our room! Pros: artsy look Cons: service terrible! more

Beautiful, stylish, clean, and comfortable 11/15/2008

This place has gone through a transformation over the past year sometime because I didn't even recognize this place when I checked in. I like all of the changes, especially the artwork around the lobby area and the lounge and restaurant have a really nice feel to them. The rooms are as big as ever. I really like the extras they bring to you if you request them--like the specialty pillows, a fish, lava lamp or a board game etc. Very clean establishment and well maintained. Large pool that is very well kept--maybe the best I've seen. My only complaint would be the smallish bathtub. Overall, a great value. Pros: large clean pool Cons: luggage cart availability more

Renovations are a pain... 3/6/2008

Unfortunately, my husband and I chose this hotel to stay in the night of our wedding. It's close to the airport, offers a free shuttle, and held my dress for me until my maid of honor could pick it up the next day. We thought it might be a decent choice since they have the ""Oooey Gooey Package"" for honeymooners, and we didn't want to spend a ton of money since we were on our way to a fabulous honeymoon in Belize. Sadly, the hotel was really torn up from renovations. The water faucet wasn't working properly, and the phone was really bad. We asked for a wake-up call at 6 a.m., and the wake-up call called us 5 times. Everytime it called, it was an automated system and it was overlapping with another phone line. We could hear someone talking on the phone as well as the wake-up call. We finally just unplugged the phone. We were pretty aggrivated with our whole experience there. The only good thing we can say is the bed was comfortable and the ""Ooey Gooey Package"" came with Godiva chocolates, wine, and a funny little Kama Sutra box we got a good laugh out of. I wouldn't exactly recommend this hotel to anyone... Pros: Inexpensive for a honeymoon night, free shuttle to airport Cons: Renovations should make the rooms even cheaper.... more

Very trendy, modern hotel 2/18/2008

My girlfriend and I decided to spend a night away from the house and chose this hotel based on the modern pictures provided. Based on the pictures, the hotel looked a lot different than most - in a good way. We were a little skeptical based on its location since Briley Pkwy has always been mess in the past years. We loved everything about this hotel. The staff was very courtious. Everything from the lobby to the halls and room were very modern and trendy. The room was very stylish. It was your average size room, but decorated very nice. We especially like the fact that we needed a room key to operate the elevator, and on that note, the elevator was our favorite ever!! We requested a room away from the elevator on our floor, and that is exactly what we received - at the end of the hall. We loved the layout of the floor our room was on. It wasn't just a straight hallway that kids could run up and down. The layout definitely was a plus as it helps reduce the amount of noise with people entering and exiting their rooms and getting off the elevator - this has always been a negative for us with other hotels. I highly recommend this hotel. more

Best airport hotel ever! 10/3/2007

My boyfriend and I like to fly out of Nashville to save money, so we needed a place to crash the night before our flight. We saw the hotel from the interstate and decided to give it a try. The girls at the front desk were so welcoming, and they told us about this package where we can leave our car at their hotel for only $5 a night to avoid paying the crazy parking prices at the airport. They even have a free shuttle to and from the airport! The room was awesome! They have Aveda bath products, so now I don't have to carry my own with me when I go to Nashville. We love going out in Nashville, so the awesome girl at the front desk called us a cab and told us about some fun places to have some drinks on a Monday night. It only took about 10 minutes to get to the Broadway area. We slept great, our wake up call was on time, and the shuttle driver was standing next to the van ready to take us to the airport in the morning. We liked it so much, we almost stayed another night at the Preston when we flew back into town. Too bad we had to go back to work...We definitely found a new favorite place to stay at the Hotel Preston!!! Pros: Helpful staff and great location. more

Great! CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, LOVED IT! 9/10/2007

I personally enjoyed this hotel. My husband and I stayed here for our Anniversary because it was near Silverados. The lobby was nice, the room was spectacularly clean, the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in (including my own). It is by the airport and of course you are going to get NOISE near an airport but it wasn't unbearable. The lounge was very nice, clean, great entertainment. When we first pulled up to the hotel it was a little uneasy feeling because of the part of town it was in. We had absolutely no problems, everyone staff, other guests were super friendly. Locals were friendly. A BIG PERK. They took us to Silverados (a local country dance hall) and picked us up, so we could relax, drink and not have to worry about driving or renting a cab... Pros: Clean, comfortable, cozy & beds were awesome! Cons: Room Service didn't answer the phone. more

Look elsewhere, first time staying here and was disappointed, the website painted a different picture than my actual experience. 5/26/2007

The best offering of this hotel are the beds and newly remodeled rooms and that's about it. The location is not convienient and directions somewhat confusing. The pool is your typical rectangular shape and is small in size. The wireless internet service is a daily charge of $9.00, less expensive hotels offer this service complimentary. Hotel is not located in an ideal location, very rough neighborhood surrounds the hotel with less than desirable characters walking around the grounds. I was surprised to find out that when arriving at the hotel at 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday night that there were no parking spaces for myself and that many of the parking spaces were filled by local people non-guest of the hotel visiting the hotel bar and dance floor. I demanded a parking space since I had a parking permit and space was included in my room charge. What is the point of a parking permit if local people fill the parking lot without a permit? I was also not pleased to see basically street thugs hanging out in the lobby when I finally got my parking space and entered the hotel. Pros: Newly upgraded rooms, nice staff, great beds Cons: Parking, no security to be seen, less than desirable location, very small bathrooms, hotel bar hours more

Not what I expected 3/19/2007

Upon arrival we see the lobby under construction, carpet ripped up, ceiling torn up and construction lights hanging all over the place. It would have been nice to have been informed of the renovations to the lobby upon making the reservations. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, the walls and windows are not sound proof. From about 7:30am until 6pm we could here construction workers on the 4th floor drilling, sawing, etc. This didnt bother us to bad as we were out of the room by 11am and didnt return until 9pm. Well, at 8pm the band in the lounge starts up and on the third floor we could hear every note and lyric. On top of this every time a plane would take off or land it would shake the window. I guess I cant complain too much being that this is a glorified Clarion. Would I stay here again, NO. It seems to be a popular place for those not wanting to pay the high rates at Opryland and those not interested in downtown/midtown Nashville. Also, the hotel is located in a pretty sketchy part of town. If you're looking for a cheap airport layover hotel or an alternative to Opryland then this place will probably serve you well. Otherwise pay the extra money and stay at Union Station, Lowes vanderbilt, etc. Pros: Nice bed, close to airport and Opryland Cons: Unfriendly staff, thin walls, bad location, overpriced more

Overall the Best Hotel period end of story! Best Beds, Starbucks in room, Bathrobes, Pet Fish, Cookies..... 3/14/2007

I just reread my review from 1/11/05 and had to laugh......I voted this Best Weekend Getaway for a very good reason people! Yes it's unique, has a cool vibe and is really romantic, but apparently it helps with conception too!!!!! We didn't make it back for New Year's 05 because my daughter was three months old at the time!!!! You do the math....We sure did celebrate New Year's weekend 04 at the Hotel Preston and brought our four month old daughter back to celebrate Valentine's 2006. The relaxing environment and I'm sure fabulous cocktails made for a New Year's we will never forget and we go back now for Weekend Breakfast with Santa at Opry Mills and shopping at the Children's Place. You Go Hotel Preston!!!! Pros: Grown Up Vibe, Best Beds Ever, Pet Fish, Lava Lamps, Bath Robes, Starbucks, Food Cons: The view outside is business travel, but who's looking get busy having fun more

We love this hotel! 11/17/2006

If you are only in Nashville for the weekend make sure you book this hotel. The location is not the best but once you step inside its worth the trouble. What a fun place to stay. The rooms are nice yet don't smell all that great (its an old building) and there is a great little bar downstairs. Make sure you utilize all the extras that the hotel offers...from complimentary to over the top packages everything is worth it. I usually go ahead and reserve a lava lamp and fish for me when I book because they always seem to be out of those. And before heading up to your room check out a cd from the front desk. Pros: Too many to list Cons: Smells a little musty more

pampering and good service 11/15/2006

Stayed at the Hotel Preston to ""get away"" but not too far away ... and was not disappointed. They strive to be different and are. Really good service, great room, great bed (and linens), the restaurant was good, the staff in the restaurant was great (and nice and talked either just enough or not at all depending on what I wanted), the bar was good (but the bartenders were GREAT), the pool could use some pizazz, but overall it was nice -- and their whole goldfish/lava lamp schtick is cool. They also stand by their promises, i.e., if you want milk and cookies, they'll bring it. Had a great massage while there, too. It's great. And, hey, they can't help that Briley Parkway is a nightmare, right? Stay there! You won't be sorry. Pros: service, ambience, parking, extras, ""cool factor"" Cons: Briley Parkway more

BEST BEDS I'VE SLEPT IN!! 10/5/2006

MY HUSBAND AND I WENT FOR OUR ANNIVERSARY, TO AVOID THE HIGH PRICES AT THE OPRYLAND HOTEL. IT WAS LOVELY....THE ROOM THAT IS. THERE IS ALOT OF CONSTRUCTION OUTSIDE SO THE VIEW IS SHOT. NO HOT TUB, NO INSIDE POOL. FOOD GREAT!!! THE BAR, WELL ITS A HOTEL BAR, NOT MUTCH TO SAY!!! AS FAR AS SURROUNDINGS FOR THE PRICE ITS GOOD BECAUSE YOU ARE CLOSE ENOUGTH TO DOWNTOWN TO ENJOY A NIGHT OUT. AND THE HOTEL OFFERS FREE SHUTTLE RIDES TO AREA ATTRACTIONS!! THE BEDDING IS AWSOME, BIG WHITE AND FLUFFY SHEETS, PILLOWS, AND BLANKETS!!! LOVE IT!! BASICALY IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BE CLOSE TO DOWNTOWN BUT NOT PAY DOWNTOWN PRICES STAY HERE AND WANT GOOD QUALITY AND NICE GERM FREE ROOMS, STAY HERE!!!!! Pros: CLOSE TO ATTRACTIONS, GREAT PRICE, GREAT ROOMS/BEDDING Cons: LOCATION OFF OF BRILY PKWY!!NO INSIDE POOL/HOT TUB more

Great Hotel 3/15/2006

Everytime I have stayed here, I have loved it. The only drawback is the location. Not near much and in the middle of a construction zone. But, that does not stop me. Great weekend getaway. It's such a great experience each time. more

great ! 2/1/2006

The room was extra clean. The beds the best thing next to home. The staff frendly and very helpful. I will stay here again. more

best hotel in nashville 10/28/2005

My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and frequent this place during trips through Nashville - we have nothing but positive things to say about Hotel Preston! The rooms are beautiful & stylish, the beds are so comfortable, and it is in such an ideal location (right off the interstate) - be sure to order room service - we especially loved having breakfast in bed! We definately recommend this hotel if you are looking for high quality for a great price. Pros: romantic, inexpensive Cons: n/a more
