His explanation of possible concerns is educational, and he is very patient with the learning curve inherent of first time home owners. Jeff's first concern is safety, and he specializes in energy efficiency. When it comes to home inspectors, what more could you ask for? Go Jeff! more

The best home inspector 12/13/2012

I am a structural repair contractor and attend monthly inspector meetings with Jeff. In a room full of home inspectors Jeff is looked at as the most experienced expert. Questions or unique experienced get introduced in the meeting and Jeff always has an answer that makes sense. I would trust buying a home that Jeff has inspected. more

Real pleasure to work with 12/13/2012

I have been a Licensed Real Estate professional for 15 years and have worked with Jeff Merritt for a while. He came into our office a few years back, my inspector was leaving the profession so I gave him a chance. Over the years he has conducted close to 100 inspections for my clients. Many of my clients have commented on how professional and thorough he is. This is why I feel comfortable referring him to referring him to others. Our first client together was a well-known civil engineer who bought an old school house. Jeff spent the day at the property and the client was completely impressed. He makes me look good with my clients, he cares to do the best job and find out as much as he can about each property he inspects. He is a wealth of knowledge. more

Recommended home inspector 12/3/2012

Oh, how I wish we had used Jeff from Homestead Inspections when we had our house inspected. We will definitely use him should we ever buy another house. His rates are very reasonable and he is an honest and very kind man. He does very good work and is very meticulous. I have never felt more comfortable with a contractor in my life. I recommend him very highly. more

This is the guy I'll call 11/23/2012

I always hesitate to write a review until I've seen how well the "product" hold up over time...well, it's been almost a year since Jeff did our for purchase inspection and everything he said has held up. His report was detailed and timely. He showed up ten minutes early and you could tell he was really concentrating on what he was doing. He also referred us to other contractors who have done amazing work. In this day and age it is rare to find someone as earnest as Jeff Meritt and if heaven forbid we buy another home, this is the guy I'll call. more

Very good service 11/23/2012

I am a structural repair contractor here in town. The city requires a licensed structural engineer to prepare a report for recommended structural repairs done on any home. I have worked off of Jeff's reports several times and I know that when I am working for him the home owner is in good hands. When ever one of my customers tells me that their goal is to permanently stabilize a foundation so that they never have to worry about it ever again, I tell them to call Jeff. more

Recommended home inspectors 11/13/2012

Before we bought the house we had a home inspection from Homestead Inspections. They were thorough and went over every detail with us. We recommend them prior to your house purchase. more

Expert inspections every time I have ever used them. Each time I have used Homestead Inspection to inspect a home for one of my clients, (I am a Realtor) I get the feeling that they are treating the inspection as if they themselves are buying the home. Great attention to detail, and each item is explained thoroughly and thoughtfully. more
