Best

The food here is good! Lots of selections and they have great service and deliver FAST. My only minor complaint is that the packaging is crazy wasteful - giant plastic containers.

Worst

I liked the atmosphere, but I was rather put off by our waitress. When we ordered, she gave us strange looks as if to ask, ""You're ordering THAT?!"" Then, she brought us the wron...

Fun place, big menu 3/30/2007

I went to Home with my parents, and two friends. We all got completely different things from the menu, and as far as I remember, it was all pretty dang good! The price seemed pretty reasonable, and I liked that you could get fries or salad with your meal. The portions were fairly large. I took some home for lunch the next day, while my friend ""T"" managed to eat all of hers. Even big appetites will get filled. They have a full bar, and their patio looks awesome! I came during the winter though, so we sat inside. I plan on going again now that it's starting to warm up. It looks like a great place to relax. Just like Home. Ahhh, I get it! :) Pros: big menu, patio Cons: parking more

HOME....sweet home... 1/30/2007

Bohemian and tasty Los Feliz find... and my new favorite place to eat breakfast. The sizeable hungry crowd waiting outside drew our attention to Home initially.; however, despite said crowd, the wait was bearable and once inside, quite worth it. The outside seating area is bustling, charming and cozy.. heated by lamps in the winter enabling outdoor seating in most weather. Although much of the menu is sinful comfort food at first glance, there are many healthful choices mixed in. One of the better egg white (and custom tailored) omelettes I have had lately. While the service wasn't necessarily the quickest I have experienced, it was most importantly attentive and friendly and overall, appropriate in light of the number of people dining. Pros: unique ambience and great menu Cons: parking can be a bit tough to find on a weekend morning... more

good food, terrible service 1/2/2007

the food is good, the atmosphere is adorable, too bad my service has been awful all 4 times i've been there. sorry to say i don't think i'll be back. they mean well, just are either understaffed or totally disorganized. Pros: food, ambience Cons: parking, service more

Good wholsome food in a great atmosphere! 12/21/2006

This is such a southern cali. spot. THe dining room is outdoors with tree's surround you. Feels like you are eating in someone's backyard or in a tree house. We ordered the almond tuna sanwich which came with crisp cut fries and I had the blue cheese burger. The tuna sandwich had a tremendous amount of flavor and the burger was adequete. THe prices are reasonable and service was good. I did feel bad for the people sitting next to us. They waited probably 20 minutes to order. more

Great outdoor patio! 11/21/2006

Home a wonderful place for dinner during a warm evening. the outdoor patio is definitely the spot. They have a great bar with a wide selection of specialty drinks. Looking for comfort food in the eastside? this is the place! Delicious turkey burgers and breakfast burritos. more

Best brunch or breakfast 11/20/2006

What a way to start your Saturday or Sunday- relaxing under a great tree, eating great grub! Lunch is wonderful too, great selection of salads and different type fare. There can be a wait for breakfast. Pros: atmosphere, food, service Cons: parking, wait for brunch (sometimes) more

Favorite Restaurant in the Neighborhood 11/19/2006

This place is a hidden gem. No joke. How I could have lived in L.A. and not been here sooner?? Great lunch, great breakfast, great dinner. The servers are chill and friendly and even suggested a couple of other places we might like in L.A. if we liked Home. How cool is that! I gotta get there when it rains-- if it's raining they offer some deal like buy one get one free for entree or half off the second one or something cool. Thanks Home Staff! Pros: Service, Food, Patio Cons: can't think of any more

Lives up to its title - with a touch more style 9/6/2006

I LOVE this place. Good portions of comfort food at reasonable prices without the gritty feel of a crowded diner. Set against a tastefully landscaped brick patio, the novel-like menu leaves nothing to be desired. I recommend the chicken curry wraps (which can be made into a salad), the fun assortment of burgers and grilled sandwiches, or the pizzas. It somehow feels less pretentious than some of its neighbors - maybe because it really truly feels like ""Home."" Pros: Food, Patio Dining, Prices Cons: Sometimes a wait, no bar. more

The place to take people you actually like. 6/26/2006

The menu is for everyone, from omlets and salads to burgers and pizza. Yes, the service is slow. Take the extra time to enjoy the garden setting, not to mention your friends' company. Both the servers and regulars are nice, smiley people. Try being one of them. Pros: The food and the trees. Cons: Not the place to go if you're in a hurry. more

Home rocks 5/19/2006

I have been coming to this place for thepast two years and i love it. The service can be slow but the place is always packed s deal with it. If you are an uptight person that is unable to chill out and be happy then this place is not for you. Go somewhere else! The food is amazing, the staff very friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and peaceful. It is smoker friendly and dog friendly. Pros: food, staff, atmosphere more

if you don't like it just go home. 4/14/2006

seriously, people. who wants sunday brunch in a hurry?! this is the most comfortable, leisurely, and relaxed environ in which to procure an early afternoon meal. when you are seated in the ultra-calming garden patio, order coffee and water and sit back and relax. the service can be slow, but the servers and the darling hostess are very friendly. i highly recommend the pomodoro omelette! come with friends or for a romantic morning-after. Pros: atmosphere, friendly staff, food Cons: slower service more

Idyllic brunch spot 12/8/2005

The first thing about Home is that it is beautiful. The front garden is lovely (check out the secret tables perched above the main area. The booths are private and the wait staff and the hostess (who I believe owns it) are accomodating and warm. The food is good too- I recommend the Healthy Egg White Omelette, the Turkey Reuben, and any veggie sandwich, breakfast burrito or salad. The waffle fries are tempting but always leave you with a stomach ache (I've compared notes with my dining companions)- I always order them anyway. The turkey burger isn't worth it. Incredible shakes and a good tea selection compliment the meal. But NOTHING compares to the atmosphere...it's a Los Feliz gem! Pros: ATMOSPHERE, food, great staff Cons: a little pricey more

don't bother coming 10/7/2005

the service is the worst ever, slow and oblivious. and the food is not all that! Cons: slow service , rude service more

Home isnt where the service is... 9/5/2005

Lethargic staff + smokers + below average food = Home We sat down next to the active Koi pond. 10 mins later someone asked us what we wanted to drink. 10 mins after that the drinks arrived. Next we ordered our food and began the wait. still waiting....wait wait wait. after 20 or so the food was brought out. normally 20 mins isnt that bad but it was for a veggie wrap and a cold steak sandwich. needless to say our drinks were finished by that time. all we wanted to do was leave at this point so we got the check and i put my card in the folder and once again the wait began....After hearing alot of hype about this place i must say the service was a joke and if it wasnt for the Koi pond we would have ""left Home"" a long time ago. Pros: Vanilla cappucino, Koi pond Cons: service, smokers more

Sit and Relax! It will be a while, but worth it. 8/9/2005

I've been coming to Home for years now. Almost every weekend. Comfortable place to sit outdoors & have a decent meal. Good food w/ large menu--recently new choices added. They've recently done some changes to decor, & it looks better than ever. This is place you have to love it for its eccentricity & quirks. The service can be slow or ultra fast. The food is great, but rarely find an added or a missing ingredient in their dish (fixed quickly.) The atmosphere keeps me coming back; the people & place is unique & relaxing. Small children love hanging around the fountain and observing the fish & plastic dinosaurs. Groups: Friend had her bridal shower here. Nice. We were in a pretty backroom (not in the garden) w/ plenty of room. They also have another room w/ comfy chairs that has an old den/library feel--good for drinks/cocktails. Pros: Dog friendly, Fountain, Garden Cons: Crowded for Brunch more

WORST SERVICE! 5/22/2005

The service at this place is atrocious! I've been here more than a couple of times and have had BAD service everytime. -at first I thought it was a fluke but then realized that they have no standards when it comes to service. I watched the cooks, wait staff and manager all hangout in front of the restaurant smoking and chatting it up during sunday brunch while people all around me sat waiting waiting for 45 minutes for a bill! for checks, food, etc.... my food was delivered cold and I'll never go back. ....who cares if there's a garden. This was honestly my worst dining experience in LA. more

You Can't Go Wrong 3/22/2005

I've eaten here many times, I bring friends and family here, I have never been dissapointed. The parking is abysmal, and the food is expensive - but worth every penny. The waitstaff are very friendly, the food is presented well and the servings are plentiful. I have dined there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the menu provides enough healthy variety for any situation or diner. Eating outdoors in California is a wonderful experience, and Home provides for this. An enclosed courtyard seats many people, with the plants, birds, fish, fountain and music providing the perfect backdrop for any meal, any patron. Pros: Ambiance, Outdoor Cons: Parking, Crowded more

I've never had a problem 2/27/2003

I like Home. Its reliable, relaxing and always decent food. Sitting outside in the sun (or under the moon) always puts me in a good mood. more
