I’m not usually a fan of BBQ chicken, but for these guys you should make an exception. In fact, vegetarians should make an exception for this place. I’ve had all of the sandwiches several times – and I once ate all five in a single sitting. They’re that good.\r \r My favorite is still probably the BBQ beef, but my coworkers swear by the pork. In any case, it’s hard to go wrong. Unfortunately, we’ve moved office locations. I’ve tried paying coworkers to bring me back a few, but the sandwiches never make it into my hands after they’ve tasted the BBQ goodness. more

So I was looking up my grandpa's name on google and came across this. The founder of Hole-in-the-Wall, and one of the greatest chili/BBQ chefs in the world, was Chuch Forsyth. Unfortunately he passed away 2 years ago, but its wonderful to know his legacy carries on with his resturant. Pros: great food, warm atmosphere, friendly & fast service Cons: slightly crowded, only open during lunch more

Top Service, Best BBQ, Best Price 7/26/2007

Our law firm had these folks cater our annual summer shin-dig for 50 people and they did an amazing job! Not only was the beef, pork, turkey and hot links huge hits, they have homemade BBQ baked/smoked beans which were out of this world. I had a ton of compliments on the food from the lawyers and guests. We'd use them again in a heartbeat. more

Good Sauce, Great Smoky Taste 1/3/2007

My wife and I have been trying to get here for quite awhile, since it is only open for about 3 hours a day 11am till 2 pm. We phoned the shop to ensure they would still be serving and to get some needed directions around 1:15pm.... to our surprise they were. We made it to the restuarant and walked in the door and wow the name ""Hole in the Wall"" say's it all. It is small and cramped with a great aroma floating in the air. They do have a seating in the way of a small but useful bar if you can find a place to sit. We came during the holidays and close to closing so found room easy to find. Simple menu with beef, Pork, Chicken and chili plus the usual sides. We had the Beef brisket (normal sauce level since we were headed for a show) and were not disappointed at all. The beef was tender and smoky the way BBQ should be. By the time we were full and satisfied there must have been 15-20 people come and go. I'll try the chili the next time. Great BBQ.. Pros: Great Smoked Meats Cons: Hours of Operation more

Really? 7/1/2004

Things I didn't like: When you do ribs, you're supposed to pull the membrane off the back of the set of ribs. That which differentiates BBQ from Grilling is time, I'd bet these tough ribs were cooked in an hour. No ""bark"" (dry rub) to speak of on the outside of the ribs, the meat was cooked-grey, not pink from smoke like it should be, and the sauce was sweet and uninteresting. It had heat, but no cahones. Very 2-dimensional sauce. In my book, cole slaw has MAYO (definitely different from Hole's vinegar dressing style slaw) Pros: The IPA is excellent more

This is the real deal, mister! 9/15/2003

In order to keep our toxin levels high, every Friday I gather up as many co-workers as I can an make the trek down to Hole In The Wall. We are never disappointed! The minute you walk in the door you know it's gonna be good. Try the BBQ meat loaf on Mondays, but get there early before it's gone! Always order ""wet"" to make sure you get a heapin' helpin' of sauce. Pros: Quick and friendly, Outstanding meat, Killer sauce more

OK Q 8/18/2003

The Q is OK...not fabulous, but good. Prices are OK. The guys who work there are great. It's fine for lunch, but I wouldn't take an out of town guest there when there's better just down on Beacon Hill at Willie's. Pros: service, OK meat, good sauce Cons: a little pricey, kinda' blah more

great lunch 1/9/2003

Great food, great value, don't wear your best suit unless you don't mind sauce stains. Real quality brisket, consistently good. Go early as they run out of food frequently. Pros: food, atmosphere, value Cons: parking more

great sandwiches 12/15/2002

Not too many choices to chose from, but this place makes great barbecue beef sandwichers more

Best Brisket Sandwiches 10/26/2002

Much better brisket than Dixies. If you want a beef or pork bbq sandwich, this is the place! If you want chicken, go to Three Pigs or Tony Roma's. If you want to waste your time in line, go to Dixies! more

Killer BBQ! 8/15/2002

I've had BBQ from all over the place, but this place ROCKS! You GOTTA try it!!!! Pros: Excellent Food, Fast Friendly Service, Large Portions Cons: Can get crowded, Not open after 2pm more

I'm Standing Here To Tell Ya! 8/9/2002

I am a native North Carolinian. I was weaned from the baby bottle and mom's milk to BBQ. I have lived in several places around the USA that claim to have BBQ, they were just wrong. I have eaten 'bbq' at most of the listed establishments. They should be arrested for impersonating purveyors of BBQ! The Hole in the Wall is as close to real BBQ as you are likely to find in Seattle. And that's just the unvarnished truth ... Live with it you other guys! Pros: Generous Portion, Welcoming Ambiance, GREAT BBQ!!! Cons: Longer Serving Hours, Additional Location more

Tops for lunch 8/8/2002

This place has amazing BBQ for a weekday lunch stop. It menu has a limited number of choices, allowing for faster service and a good price. Plus, the people who work there are always happy to see and greet you. You've got to try this. Pros: Fast, Tasty, Nice Employees Cons: Can get crowded, Parking can be bad more
