I just spent over an hour on the phone trying to cancel my two nights at the Hilton in Fort Wayne so that I don't have to move from one hotel to another. I like the hotel I'm at now and I have 1500 miles to drive later in the week. When I called the Hilton today, they said that it was up to the on-line booking company, to call them about canceling the reservation. I called them, got disconnected twice and then through my credit card info they discovered that it was really through another company. The hotel clerk told me wrong, but I didn't get a confirmation email to check it.
When I finally got through to the booking company, they were ready to give me a full refund, but said they had to run it by the manager at the Fort Wayne Hilton to confirm that it was ok. After waiting and waiting, I got disconnected again (with 4 bars on my phone) and called the Fort Wayne Hilton again. After waiting a bit, the guy came back on and simply reiterated that because they had given me a special rate that it was ""non-refundable"". I spent an hour for nothing.
I don't expect or want you to do anything about this, but I do want you to know that the manager there is very unprofessional and customer-unfriendly. It's too close to the wedding to do anything about this, so just forget it for now, but I do want you to know that although I intend to stay at the Hilton those two nights, I will never stay at another Hilton Hotel the rest of my life

Post Script: The day after writing this review, Hilton recanting and gave me a full refund. So, I gave them two stars instead of one....
