My wife and I decided upon Heritage Hardwood floors to install our hand scraped 4"" Oak floors due to their # of years in business. Terry and Bob seem like nice enough guys and provided plenty of information while we were trying to make our decision.
The crew that was sent over to remove the carpet and install the vinyl, felt, plywood, felt, and then oak did a great job. The only issue encountered there was during the removal of some existing tile and their machine swung wide and damaged a corner of a pillar.
Upon describing this to Terry, he suggested for my wife to buy some putty to fix it...... not acceptable i my mind.
The sanding crew did a descent job and this is where I have my biggest complaint. They putty between the boards that have gaps and where the staple holes are near the perimeter of the room. After the first sanding I could see significant number of holes that were missed. When I talked to Bob about this he downplayed it as this is to be expected and they will catch it on the next pass, well they didn't I have several 10-20 spots where there are little gaps between the wood, and even one spot where the corner is missing from a board so it dips in pretty far down. I planned to complain about this to Terry when the job was over but he never asked about the quality or our happiness, he only called to say ""my boss put this bill on my desk and is wondering why it isn't paid"" mind you this is 3 business days after completion. In the end their lack or professionalism really turned me off.
If I decide to use them for the upstairs I will be far more critical of their work and will not take BS answers to my concerns.
