Henning's Supermarket

I have been a Hennings shopper since 1998 at their old location. Their Deli, Hot Foods, Chefs Case and Coffee Shop are excellent, their selections always fresh and diverse. But wait until you get to the register! The older women working the registers act like they own the place; they act like they hate their jobs, hate the customers, and are generally not nice to deal with. I've seen them smile more in the conversations amongst themselves than at the actual customers. As long as you can avoid these "tenured" cashiers (a lot of the younger staff are happy for their jobs, lovely to work with and eager to please), Hennings is a nice store. But I've got to say, Wegmans has won my business as I just can't stand those grumpy cashiers at Hennings! more

I've have always gone to Hennings, and it is a great place with good food and awesome service. It's always a pleasure going there, and it's fast and easy to get to. more

I often shop at Henning's. I like that they have a wide variety of foods and brands to choose from. I also like that they offer a lot of organic foods if you have a family member with a certain type of food allergy. I have found that the price of many of the items I buy at other local stores do compare to Henning's. I always use coupons when I shop so I find my bills are about the same only I feel like I've gotten a few "special" items that I normally can't find anywhere else. Like any time you shop, as long as you stick to your grocery list you won't spend more than what you planned to. \r \r After I've finished my shopping I head over to the buffet for lunch. It has something for everyone. The food is always hot and regularly restocked. Everything is kept very clean and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The best part is that kids under 2 eat free and if you go on "family night", two kids under 12 eat free for every paying adult. My family really enjoys coming here eve more

This supermarket is too convenient not to use. They are located right in the middle of Harleysville. Their staff is always friendly. Since they have been remodeled they have turned into an upscale supermarket with all kinds of things- a coffee bar, lounge upstairs to eat, buffet with tons of selections of food, etc. more

I love Hennings. The buffet is great, the place is clean, and everyone is super friendly. The prices are similar to Wegmans in that for a regular weekly food shopping, you will not save any money unless you spend some serious dough. more

Hennings have a wonderful buffet that has anything for everyone. They have seating above the store so you can look and watch what's going on. They also have wonderful baked goods which I have enjoyed many of times. Their employees are friendly to deal with as well. more

They aten't the largest store, but the employees are friendly and helpful. The store is clean and everything is easy to find. The sale prices were also good. more

Henning's has everything, with a hometown feel to it. It is a very clean marketplace with helpful employees. The ready to go foods are very good, great to bring home a healthy meal for the family. When I want a stress free shopping experience, I go to Henning's. The prices are no differrent than a regular marketplace more

This is a new grocery store (moved recently) and the store is very high tech, beautiful, spacious and huge. The selections are endless. Personally, my family lives closest to this store but we drive further to get to other stores. Hennings is definatly more expensive and with those high prices we would expect better service. The service isnt better. We found the customer service booth understaffed, the store is frequently out of sale items and the cashiers give hassles over coupons. One cashier accused me of photo copying coupons as they were printed in black and white. Funny thing is someone giving out samples in that store had given me a handful of coupons for that product. I dont plan on going back, after three unhappy visits and their high prices, we shop else where. PROS: parking CONS: too expensive more

Hennings is very similar to Wegmans, with the gourmet food sections and fresh bakery. The prodcuce is always outstanding and fresh. I like the way the aisles are organized -home products in one area, everyday groceries and canned goods in another. This is best place in the area to find ethnic food, and they have a great selection of things like salad dressing and sauces. PROS: fresh food, lots of selection CONS: expensive more
