An Okay Organic Food Store 12/28/2005

Well, having moved from a city with Whole Foods and Trader Joe's, Charlotte's a bit of a culture shock. Relative to your organic choices in the rest of Charlotte, the Home Economist is great, and the closest organic store (along with Talley's) to people in the northern part of Charlotte. It has a basic selection of organic foods, including wines, produce, meats, and preprepared meals. Bottom line is that there is nothing that really stands out about this store, either positive or negative. But, given the alternative, I'm happy it exists. more

Nice!! 11/8/2005

This is one of my favorite organic health food stores. I shop at organic stores for the most part for our food and health needs and this is at the top of my list. The store is always very clean and the saleclerks are always very friendly and helpful. I have a hard time deciding between different brands of many items and the clerks will help me decide based on my personal needs, not based on prices. The selection available is always of the best quality and they stock most brands available on the market. The prices are decent though they are a little higher than some but based on the service and cleanliness, I'd rather pay the higher prices any day. more

My Favorite Organic Store 8/23/2005

I've gone to most of the organic/natural stores in the Charlotte area, but the Home Economist is my favorite. It's clean and has a great selection of healthy food, whether it be fresh, frozen, or even canned. Their meats are wonderful. If you've never tried them, you don't know what you're missing. They also offer great smoothies. PROS: Great selection~ Great Food CONS: None more

Very clean 8/19/2005

This store has of course a lot of organic and natural offerings, but they have mainly breads, frozen foods, refrigerated foods, some produce and lots of medicine. They have bulk items you can buy too. I've been in other health stores where the selection was more extensive. And they are on the expensive side. But, they are a very clean and well kept store. more

Great Place to Shop 8/7/2005

The Home Economist on South Blvd is my favorite place to purchase organic and natural items. From the vast selections of health and beauty aids to the organically grown fruits and vegetables, this place rocks! It is definitely a one stop shop. It has everything you need to live healthier. They carry an assortment of nontoxic household cleaners, herbs, essential oils, bulk dried fruits, nuts, grains, spices, etc. The staff is very informed and more than willing to answer any questions you may have. They even have a large selection of super-premium dog and cat foods and treat! There's so much this place offers, it's hard to write about them all. Stop by and see for yourself! You'll be amazed. PROS: Fabulous Selection CONS: Nothing more
