Always Relaxing 11/14/2002

It's a nice place to go and relax with a nice cup of coffee or tea. No stresses or worries at the square... and you can always walk around the lovely campus of Harvard. more

BRATTLE CINEMA 10/28/2002

Harvard Square is great. Check out the Brattle cinema for cutting edge movies, not your usual run of the mill movies, and get a bite to eat @ Casablanca's. Great for people watching. The COOP bookstore has a great selection of books, new and used, plus a bunch of ""cheap discounted"" books! I have brought my kids here, but not at night! Pros: Brattle theater, Coop bookstore, people watching Cons: snobby people, no parking, can get crowded more

Nowhere like it anywhere 8/12/2002

Always different so it never gets dull. Always exciting, great people watching. Pros: always something, going on Cons: parking more

Can't be beat 8/8/2002

Great street performers, good restaurants and shops, people-watching, loads of bookstores, and HARVARD. Grab your coffee, have a seat, and leave your worries behind. This is what life is about! Pros: fun, great for the family, everything close Cons: expensive, no paar-king more

One of my favorite shopping places 6/5/2002

I love Harvard Square. I used to go there very often from my college days. It's convenient to shop or eat, or to meet up with friends. It also helps that there is a T stop and the #1 bus stop right in front of it. You'll see a mixture of people - business people and students and street artists. You'll also see a mixture of stores - from Crate & Barrel to little art boutiques to a variety of restaurants. What a great way to spend an afternoon. more

sad but true 5/19/2002

i still love going back to the square after spending my college days there, but it dismays me greatly that the tasty has been replaced by a big, ugly abercrombie & fitch store. ick. even as late as the early '90s, it was all about keeping the chain stores out. now it is, indeed, like a mall. but like one other wise reviewer wrote, it is the home the world's best cheesesteak: pinocchio's. more
