Ambience is very nice especially if you get seated overlooking Michigan Ave. The food isn't as good as the Cheesecake Factory, but you can see the similarity. Service was respectable and price is pretty reasonable for the location and food. Perfect place to grab lunch or dinner in after a day of shopping around. more

My Favorite! 2/16/2012

On my last visit to Chicago, we ate at the Grand Lux Cafe. Everything about this restaurant is good! The food, drinks, dessert! All amazing! And the atmetsphere is so nice, very relaxing and will deffinetly be going back to eat on my next trip coming up in March!! more

Perfect 9/17/2011

Several clients wanted a unique Chicago desert so I took them to Grand Lux. My children and I frequent here when shopping. Watching my colleagues voraciously consume the strawberry shortcake was a memorable experience. They all left very happy. Anytime I want to make a great Chicago impression on my out of town clients, this is one of my first stops! more

Great for breakfast 8/15/2011

I love this location for breakfast. The oatmeal and nonfat yogurt are delicious. This location is also terrific for lunch. There is outdoor seating and business people are usually overcrowding this place. more

Coming from Fort Wayne,IN you have got to eat here at least once in Chicago,IL. The Crispy Carmel Chicken is very good and tender. They have great coffee. The parking is $12 with a ticket slip from the front desk with 3 hours grace. Try it out and treat your friends. more

I was reading reviews and many were not impressed because it was a Cheesecake Factory sister or the same just another name. Well i had heard good reviews on the CF so that did not stop me. Someone else said that it was too many tourist and crowded.....Uh this is downtown Chicago! Someone complained about a 1.5hr wait time on Sat evenings and to go during lunch time. We went Sat afternoon about 1pm and the wait was 30mins. We just grabbed a menu so we would be ready to order once seated. We ordered the quesadillas and they were excellent! The rest of our food was great too. Waiter was superb as well. more

Something for Everyone 11/2/2009

Grand Lux has an extensive menu that continues to impress me. I've been visiting for over five years and have yet to try something I don't like. From appetizers to desserts, you're sure to enjoy the food. The ambiance is classy, but feel free to walk in after a day of shopping in jeans and a tee and enjoy the view from windows overlooking Michigan. more

Many Great Experiences!!! 2/9/2009

I have been blown away by the diner menu time and time again. The lunch menu isn?t all that great but the diner menu is to die for! Great prices and quantity of food; the service is always professional and the ambiance fitting. This is also a great place to dress up for a special occasion as well as taking the wife and kids out. Pros: The Diner Menu is spectecular Cons: The Lunch Menu needs imrpoving more

I didn't expect the restaurant to be so huge! It is very large, yet still gives a comfortable cozy atmosphere at your table. We only had time for a quick dinner here, and I was thoroughly impressed. We had told our waitress how we were in a hurry and our food was out very quickly and was delicious. Huge portions, but delicious. When we were leaving, the wait for a table was TWO hours!! You know the food is good when people wait that long for a table. more

We love the Grand Luxe Cafe on Michigan Ave. On our first visit we were seated in the patio, and had a great view and a very ""airy"" feeling. May be worth an extra wait. Pros: Great service, great value, excellent food more

Best Ever!!!! 1/28/2008

I have eaten the Lux soooo many times. Both lunch and dinner and I have yet to have a bad experiences. The staff is great, the drinks are great and the food is even better. I am working my way through the entire menu. I even got engaged here and had my 1 year anniversary dinner here. My husband who is a VERY picky eater can't even complain. If you eat anywhre while downtown this is the place to go. As a matter of fact my birthday is this Friday and I'm going again. more
