I recently went to gordo's along with 3 friends and all of our sons for FSU orientation. They were easily able to accommodate a party of 9. Our waitress, Lindsay was absolutely adorable, she kept her composure with a group of 5 rowdy boys, was extremely polite and very attentive. My chicken philly was one of the best sandwiches I've had, and the whole table raved about their seasoned fries. I definitely recommend Gordos for anyone in Tallahassee looking for yummy, inexpensive food with great servers as well. more

Nice place to eat 8/28/2007

Gordo's is a great place to go, but it's always packed when I go. I suppose if one went during a time other than lunch, it would be less crowded. The food is good, generally served quickly, and is very filling. I'm from Miami. When I miss home a little, I head over to Gordo's. Don't sit outside when it's sunny... it gets really hot. more

A Nice Change of Pace 6/5/2007

Sick of fast food and pizza, a co-worker and I went to Gordo's during our lunch break one day. Parking is horrible--a tiny lot that is shared with the salon next door makes it difficult to park and dangerous to "unpark." However, the ambiance inside was great--relaxed and cool. A good selection of menu choices, almost everything was mouth-watering. The food was delicious, too. Service was a bit slow, but it was lunchtime. The soda automatically comes in a take-home plastic Gordo's cup--they'll refill them in the restaurant and give you a top-off and a lid when you leave, so that was a bonus. more

Gordos Cuban Food 4/14/2006

I love Gordos. The food is different from what you usually find and their hot pressed bread in incredible. The prices are very reasonable which makes it easy for me to go their to eat. The one complaint I have is parking. Parking is not as easy as you are used to but I have never had a problem getting a parking site. Definitely try this restaurant for a great experience. more

Gordo's Rocks! 4/10/2006

I love Gordo's. This is the best Cuban food that I have ever had! My old roommates still beg me to bring Gordo's back when I come home to visit. So needless to say I have a 7AM flight to West Palm smelling like Gordo's. And what's with the Gordo's sauce??? We love that stuff. If you haven't experienced Gordo's...TRY IT!!! more

Authentic 4/7/2006

I love cuban food and this is a great authentic place to get it. They have all the traditional greats like black beans and rice and the cuban sandwich and maduros. It is also a great place to sit and relax and have a few drinks. they have a great deck and awesome beer specials. I think they even have music but not positive, I usually get take out. more

great Cuban eats 3/20/2006

I love Gordos for their casual atmosphere, good cuban foods, good service, and well....their menu is right in my budget. I can get a great dinner for under 10, feel full and happy, and even meet some cool people (the envronment invites a little cross table talking). I especially like to come to Gordos for Sunday Brunch where I can sip a tall cup of their sweet mango tea, and enjoy some black beans and rice on their patio with a few friends. more

Gordo's es muy bueno 9/20/2005

Authentic Cuban food in Tallahassee. Good service and great food. The only problem is that they are usually out of something on the menu that I want to order. I usually ask "what are you out of today?" before I start thinking of my order. I love to eat there, anyway. more

There are no delusions here, as the owner has unabashedly proclaimed it his sole goal to make Cuban food, good, and hot. For under $10.00, one can discover Gordo's, an experience which is made more memorable by the endearing waitresses who speak with a nostalgic snap of Spanish, alluding to the main attraction, the Cuban cuisine. Eating the steamy white rice with black beans and tenderly sweet fried plantains, one instantly comes to understand the thrill of a salsa. more

Gordo's - Cuban Food 8/13/2005

Absolutely the best Cuban food in Tallahassee. Considering its large, satisfying portions and inexpensive costs, Gordo's is one very favorite local restaurants. My favorite full meal there is the Lechon Asado (pulled pork). Comes with your choice of 2 sides. They also have the BEST burger. One of the largest & cheapest ($5.95) in all of Tallahassee, the burger meat is marinated in mojo and must weigh at least 1/3 of a pound. This comes with a large mound of spiced fries or feel free to swap it out for the sweet maduros. more
